We happened to stop in on a Thursday night, when the owner was celebrating the end of the school year for teachers and supporting staff by offering $6 pints. He was quite nice, but our bartender, Mandy, was just phenomenal! We brought our pup in and showed pictures of our late dog, and she in turn, shared pictures of her fur babies. The beer selection was unique and delicious, and the upcoming summer beers look so yummy! We tried an assortment of beers, but I think our favorites were the Weisenbeer and the new Rye they had on tap. They also offered a fridge of hard seltzers, other beers, non alcoholic beverages, and a varied selection of light bar snacks like pretzels or popcorn. There was also an assortment of red and white wine too. The place was small, but cheery. You could tell that locals really like going there. We'd definitely enjoy more beers there anytime.

The place is full of locals and families hanging out on a Sunday, and there's plenty of space. Owner Todd Wyckoff has been honing his recipes for years before opening the taproom, and it shows. In particular, I found the raspberry jalapeño ale super unique and well balanced. Plenty of traditional beers available as well. The little details like the custom flight boards and light up tap handles show the level of attention put into this taproom. If you're in Gonzales this is a must visit.

I am glad we did. It is very interesting and cool to see. Go on-line and set up the tour. The Spoetzl Brewery is out of the way but if you put it with another trip it is not a bad drive. The tour price includes a goodie bag and 3 glasses of beer. After you park, go inside to the gift shop to check-in. We went during the week and we had 4 people only so it was a nice tour. On the weekend the tour lady said it can be a large group of people. You get to bring your first beer on the tour. You see videos and beer lines where everything is made and packed up for sale. After the tour less than an hour you get to enjoy 2 more beers if you want. Outside is a big picnic table area covered where you can sit and enjoy your beer. You can eat there as will. There were a lot of people eating a bbq sandwich. You can get them next door to the gift shop. It did look good. Also they have a restaurant but we did not check that out.

We bought a couple of tastings, and our bartender was super nice and informative without getting in our way of enjoying the spirits. We brought my mom to hang out and wow, my mom... she can throw them down. While I appreciated the strength of the vodka and the bourbon, my mom totally enjoyed the cinnamon moonshine. After trying out the distilled spirits, we went to the gift shop. I stocked up on some Shiner+Texas Standard gear, that now you can't really get anymore. The store is different than what you can get online, and vice versa... some of the stuff you might find online, you won't find in the in person store. After the tasting and shopping experience, we went to the new restaurant, which showcases the spirits and the seasonal beer. We also waited for the dessert. I enjoyed the bread pudding and we were lucky to try some practice rounds that the mixologists were trying out. All in all, we had a fun visit to one of my favorite places on the planet.

Unfortunately the distillery is only open Friday and Saturday nights from 5:00-10:00pm. We went on a Friday night right when they opened and a good handful of people had the same idea. Our waitress came around and took our food and drink order as well as everyone else's, so it did take around 20-30 minutes to get our drinks and a little longer to get our appetizers. Once the rush of customers was finished, we received drinks more promptly. We got the salsa and chips + guac to enjoy with our drinks and everything was incredibly tasty! We would recommend more chips for the amount of dips they bring (see pictures). The distillery has a beautiful outdoor garden and an indoor seating area. Perfect for bringing your pups!

They have a large gift shop with any type of SWAG you can imagine. We got our little pup one of their Shiner Bock dog toys; she loves it! It was our first time there, so the bartender graciously explained their process and the different options for accessing their tap beer. We truly enjoyed our experience and we hope to visit again.

Open space with lots of seating and enough yard for kids to play and throw footballs (some kids don't realize their aim/catching skill level so beware if you're sitting close to the activity). We booked the distillery tour which was a fun and educational activity. You also get to sample the spirits and walk away with souvenir bag. There's a nice big bar area outside with snacks, you can also order food and more substantial snacks through the restaurant. There is also a nice gift shop with lots of goodies. Everything was yummy. Especially the pretzels. I didn't know I could love pretzels that much! Service was friendly. Definitely a nice way to spend the day off you want to get away.

Then the nitty-gritty: saddles, spurs, horse whips, riding crops, chaps, cowboy hats, boots, etc. all the necessary tools for the cowboy. The staff is very well-versed. They can explain what each piece is used for and who were the best artisans. The souvenir shop is cute and chock full of Texan stuff. Cutest was a Texas-shaped shot glass. The museum will be undergoing expansion soon. Wow. Give it a visit when in Cuero.

There is an upper level with a small portrait gallery but it's mainly for meetings. There is a movie you can watch and an ample gift store in the front of the museum. You can't take photography inside the gallery but it's still a nice walk through.
