We had a taste for delicious Mexican food and this place did not disappoint! The food and service was amazing! Fresh Guacamole made right in front of you, how you like it! The Mexican Street Corn was fantastic too. Our entrees came out hot and bursting with flavor! I wanted to try their Ceviche but you have to order as an entree instead of a appetizer with chips. They may want to think about adding it as an appetizer to their menu. A cup of ceviche with chips is a perfect way to start a meal. We were there Sunday July 15th It was busy, we got some chips and salsa , ordered our drinks , and good , our chips were out and the salsa , we asked for more , so they brought out some more , they had removed the other salsa container and chip bowl , and when they returned with it , I filled my little bowl and my wife filled hers , and a straw paper came out of it , covered in salsa , the manager came over and said they always used clean containers when putting in the salsa and it had not come off a table and refilled , After arguing with him he walked off , I remembered later that after we got our water I had put a paper in the empty salsa container, the one that they had removed earlier, so they didn't wash it they refilled it , so I would be cautious about eating there , I will not be back , because that told me a lot , they are just refilling them after they are emptied off the table and not washing right away, read more

Always a great choice when you want good, authentic Mexican food. My husband had chili relleno and was very pleasantly surprised with how good it was. I had grilled tacos a la carte, it is simple, but always a great choice. It's simple, just cheese and lettuce, but I get pico de gallo and sour cream on the side to beef it up. I didn't think Moore County had good Mexican food. It took 8 months to find my favorite Mexican place in Moore County. They serve delicious authentic Mexican food. They have friendly, funny staff. And the prices are very reasonable. I always get chicken soup wherever I go and now this is my go-to place for chicken soup! REAL. AUTHENTIC. MEXICAN SOUP! It's not too salty. And they don't add their own twist to the soup which is great! The only complaint I have are their alcoholic beverages. First I tried their Margarita special. I was so excited for a $2.99 margarita, but I was so disappointed because you couldn't taste any alcohol! So the next time I got a flavored margarita at regular price. Went in to have a Margarita and what was advertised to have come with premium Tequila was prepared with an extremely low quality Tequila instead so it was an entire rip off. When questioned, the bar tender said that the drinks were all made with the same Tequila unless the customer asked for upgrade which costs more even though the description said that it was to be made with PREMIUM Tequila. I just want to say I reached out 5/5/2021 to the San Felipe in Aberdeen. I was calling in regards to a catering job on Saturday (5/8/2021). The man who answered the phone was extremely rude basically was huffing and puffing the whole conversation and finally when I asked my 3rd question he said "I'm extremely busy, what did you want". First time here following others recommendations. Really casual place, but popular, reservations recommended. First off, I noticed the booth cushions were badly worn, many of them torn. I know this shouldn't matter, but it set a bad impression for me. Our party of 4 was seated in one of the booths, it was small and very tight for 4. After we settled in, a couple of us ordered the house Margarita, one frozen, one on the rocks. Not very good, just bland.any good Mexican restaurant needs to be sure their Margarita's are good, strike one. They have a good beer selection though. The chips are fresh and the salsa was good, just the right level of spice. My enchilada special was good, not great, but good. Like they didn't heap all kinds of lettuce and tomato on top, and each of the enchiladas had ample amount of filling of beef, chicken, cheese or frijoles. Same with my parties chicken burrito, taco's, and quesadilla. Sampled the molten chocolate cake (just ok) and fried ice cream (just ok). Service was attentive and excellent. Good food, great service. We'll definitely go again. We split the mixed grill fajitas, which were tasty, as was the quesadilla that my daughter had. The salsa was good as well, reasonably spicy. Only negatives on the food: the beans were pretty thin and probably from a can, and the tortillas were obviously brought in on a truck as well, not made from scratch. We had a great experience at San Felipe because it was delicious, fast, the server was nice. They do not disappoint with the fajitas because they were so sizzling. I had tres leches cake for the first time and it was simply amazing. The strawberry topping added a nice flare. San Felipe has a wonderful variety in the menu, and everything is delicious! I've tried at least 8 different dishes at this restaurant, and have yet to be disappointed (my favorite are the fajita nachos). I've been here dozens of times over the last few years, and the service is always friendly and fast. I recently moved from NC to CA, and one thing I can't seem to find on the west coast is the delicious white queso dip! I've searched taquerias and regular sit-down restaurants, but have come up empty. San Felipe has wonderful queso (both as a dip, and within many meals), much like most of the restaurants in this area. So I have to respectfully disagree with Christopher's comparison of NC/CA Mexican food. When I go back to visit friends and family in NC, San Felipe is the #1 stop on my list of places to eat. read more

He's tried several on the menu, and always has that moaning satisfaction following. The restaurant itself is clean. I enjoy the festive decor and friendly staff. This restaurant is not what it use to be. The past two times I have gone we have had major issues with our order. The first time I found a piece of steak in my vegetarian order, and the second my father found hair in his beans. This is disgusting and not okay. Wifey, daughter and I went back for dinner one night after work. I originally gave this place 3 stars, but have decided they deserve the upgrade. We ordered the chicken quesadilla as an entree for our daughter and the the wifey and I split the chicken fajitas for 2. Plenty of food for everyone, and it tasted really good. Plus, this time around, I decided to get the ridiculously big 32 oz mug of beer.....$4.00. Can you believe that? Granted, you only get to choose from 3 beers....but a bottle of bud at almost any bar would cost you $4.00, and this one is 32 ounces. So the total bill for our family was $22. That is very hard, if not impossible, to beat for a sit down meal with an alcoholic beverage. THM (Take Home Message): Yes, it's loud inside, not very fancy at all. The wait staff isn't overly attentive....but get's the job done. This obviously isn't the place for the typical Southern Pines rich, white, retired mafia....but if you have a family and don't feel like spending $100 for a decent tasting dinner.......then you should definitely put San Felipe on the top of your list. I go back and forth about my review for San Felipe. While the food isn't the best Mexican food, it isn't terrible either. Some days the staff is friendly and on it, some days they are off. It got noticeably better this past year. It isn't just a menu refresh, but they improved on existing standards. Casual, kid friendly, and affordable. Carolina Chimichanga - Wow. I was not expecting that. The name is kind of gimmicky, but the dish was not. They really know how to do carnitas... the pork was break apart tender, juicy, and flavorful. But my wife and I agreed that was the best dish we've had there as well as compared to any other Mexican restaurant in the area. Salsa and chips are consistently good. Guac is okay, nothing special. Beer is a good value relative to other restaurants... not micro-brew or anything, but I appreciate having negro especial and modelo on tap...especially for what they charge. Fajitas got a revamp like I mentioned... we enjoyed it and glad we came back ... we will return. read more

This is one of my favorite places to go with the family. I can go here with my wife, two kids (one is grown), and usually a few family friends, and the bill is typically under 50 bucks. That is great for a sit down restaurant. This is half of what I would spend at established brands like Cracker Barrel and the food is a hundred times better. There are Televisions in the restaurant and the staff will often put on whatever you ask them. I like to have the football game or NASCAR race on while sitting with the family. The staff is very, very friendly. I recommend the fajitas, fresh off the frying pan. This place is the real deal. I strongly recommend them and I will continue to give them my business. read more
