During my recent visit, I noticed one of the owners sitting at a table near the register, engrossed in her laptop. It took her a moment to rise and greet me, asking "How can I help you?" Her lack of enthusiastic and energetic greeting made me feel like I was bothering her, and I almost considered leaving. I ordered two acai bowls and was glad when she agreed to swap out one of the toppings since my mom is allergic to strawberries. The highlight of my experience was my interaction with the owner's mom, who explained that she was filling in for one of her daughters while handing me my order. Her friendly demeanor made the experience more enjoyable. While I wanted to give a 3-star review, I decided to bump it up to 4 stars because I admire their commitment to promoting good health. However, this review is really a 3-star review because despite following the recommended instructions to freeze the bowls first for 10 mins before eating, the texture of the Acai bowls had both an icy and watery texture. It lacked the creamy consistency that I usually look for in a good acai bowl. Additionally, the toppings were sparse. I felt like I only got a teaspoon of granola. For $12.50, the bowl size was significantly smaller compared to other places I've been to. Overall, although I live very close to the place, I most likely will not return. A friend brought a small birthday cake, and because two of the kids had just come from Kumon and Taekwondo and were hungry, we bought the smallest Domino's pizza from next door about 5 slices, one for each child. An employee came out and explained the policy. We immediately apologized and explained that it was our first visit and we didn't know. She was very nice and seemed understanding since we were celebrating a child's birthday. The kids quickly finished the pizza, and we continued eating the yogurt we had purchased. Almost everyone else was taking their yogurt to go, so our group was not taking seating away from anyone. However, the owner kept watching us and eventually came outside and, saying we were disrespecting him and his employee because we were still sitting there. I completely respect a business's rules, and we apologized for our honest mistake. But I believe there is a better way to handle customers. We packed up the birthday cake and left, even taking the empty Domino's box with us. Unfortunately, this will be our first and last visit.
