It's a wonderful, little slice of heaven. I'm retired and play mostly during the day and it's rare…read moreto see other people. I try to figure out the best way to score on the course since I don't throw very far any longer. There's a premium on accuracy and uneven lies will make it hard to throw accurately for some. Check out the muskrat pond after #3 on the right side. The up and back routing is tricky - please reference the attached pictures for guidance. I've begun carrying a plastic food store bag and pick up trash which is thrown and has flown onto the course - I'm up to 5 bag fulls. I don't mind but wish people wouldn't throw stuff under trees and bushes thinking nobody will see (we do). The park has recently added many trash cans throughout the course so no excuses folks!

*Update* 01/03/2013…read more The local clubs and recent events out here have positively impacted the area. Volunteers have added Tee pads, cleaned up the dead tree holes and made some nice flight lines for your plastic, landscaped the rock edges, and removed much of the trash teenagers like to hide in the "caves" near Hole #10/11. I move it up to a 4/5 Stars. This place has maintained its beauty come drought or high water; it has survived it all. As before, if you haven't played it.. come out here for a good Disc Golf round or a simple walk in the woods. ~~~~~~~~~~ Beautiful park on the San Gabriel River. John Houck designed with difficult tight woods holes, one hole down by the river, and a couple of longer, more open holes. Good introduction into a technical course that allows a challenge for experienced players trying to get low scores, and a great experience for beginners that want to bring their game up a few notches. If you are looking for a place to play on windy days, come here, the valley protection limits the wind issues and lets you have some fun or good play when you need it. DIRECTIONS and INFO: From Austin; 1-35 N, exit 261A, keep going until you go over the "U-turn" bridge that takes you over I-35 and then take a right by Wendy's on Rivery Blvd. Go .2 miles and turn right at the brown sign that says "Rivery Park". Continue to parking lot at the bottom of the hill. Walk towards the playscape to hole # 1. First hole is old #4. This is also a nice quiet, and clean park that has direct access to the river, fitness trails, trail markers, and a small fishing pond. Bathrooms, water, and pavilion (for reservation) on site.

I've added pictures for some of the more tricky routing. The hole signs are helpful but some are missing. Hope these are helpful.
