There are pavilions available and plenty of areas to sit down. The parking are was really good. There are several jungle gyms for the kiddos. The walking trail is well kept and free or holes or anything that will cause you to fall. I saw wildlife along the way. People were fishing, eating, walking, playing games, and just enjoying life. My 18-month-old hasn't been mouthing stuff as much lately so we gave it a go. He did OK but eventually did put a pebble in his mouth. The pebbles are also tricky to walk on. They get really hot so water shoes or sandals help. The pebbles will then inevitably get inside your shoes and annoy your feet. Bathrooms were reasonably clean. Pretty large parking area. $5 day use fee. Paying was a bit awkward since we had to scan a QR code, park and pay, and then go show the guy that we paid. Don't know if this is temporary due to some malfunction. Cool having a beach option relatively close, even if it's not sand. I believe there may be some hiking and camping at this particular park as well but I only came here for the beach.

As the trail is unpaved, I would also be mindful of the weather within about seven days prior to your hike because it can get muddy. spotted beatutiful vegetation & wild life along the way. The park also features rentable covered picnic pavilions, which serve as great gathering places for family reunions, company picnics and other get-togethers. In addition, there is a large playground and guests are permitted to ride horses on the premises. The only times I have been here are with Things Ones' troop to go camping. There are many sites for rent to go camping here. When camping, visitors may come into close contact with deer and other wildlife. Although there can at any point be many visitors to this park, visitors will feel there is enough room to breath which is a welcomed change in this area of Central TX that has become a boom town. #bewellcentraltx

From the moment we booked to the minute we packed up, everything was smooth, easy, and honestly kind of perfect. The park is stunning and has so much to do. So much space, beautiful scenery, and tons of options for kids to run wild . My son had the best time celebrating with his friends. Between the playground, splash pad, and shaded picnic areas, the kids were entertained the entire time. No one was bored, not even for a second. There's something really special about this place. It feels like you're in the middle of nature but with all the modern conveniences nearby. It made the whole party feel relaxed and joyful.

They even have horseback riding and zip lines, along with numerous trails to explore! We've visited free dog parks throughout Austin, Leander, and Cedar Park, and they often end up neglected and trashy! I completely understand why they want to keep this place clean and welcoming!

These sites also come with running water and electricity, as a reminder be sure to grab your parking pass on the way in and stick it on your windshield. Pros-I rented campsite #32 and I was beyond satisfied. Steps away from the lake and seeing all the boaters and water skiing going on was awesome. My campsite had its own path down to the lake so it was such easy access. The camp host or volunteers were very nice and would wave while driving by making me feel very much at home. I went during the wk so it was peace and quiet a great get away if you want to just leave the hustle and grind of everyday city life. Cons- when rented a site close to the water keep in mind the wind conditions, shouldn't be an issue if you are coming with an RV but I had a tent and it was extremely windy sometimes blowing my belonging off the pavilion table. No question about it I will be returning again soon!

There are some much apprecieated shade awnings here but you can also walk off the side of the platform and venture down the rock cliff path. There is a way to get to the water but I wouldn't recommend it. The cliff is steep and I'm not even sure how the one guy I saw got down there with his dog. There are boats that go by creating wakes as well. Off in the distance there is the dam. As for bathrooms we passed one as we walked down to the water and there are a few awnings for shade which I was grateful for in the heat. The temperature goes up as you rise back up to the parking lot which is a bit small. It's a nice walk.

San Gabriel Park is huge, scenic, and with pristine manicured grounds. There is a little something for everyone - playground for children, walking and cycling trails for adults and fishing for adults as well. Quite honestly, I was surprised to see how many folks were fishing in the San Gabriel River. San Gabriel Park is located along the San Gabriel River. Although the San Gabriel Park is quite large, it has the feel of being absolutely serene simultaneously. The park has picnic tables, places to sit along the river and places to hang out if you want to meditate or take in the park's beauty alone. This park is definitely family-centric with playgrounds, open fields, and shaded areas for picnics or self-discovery.

Unsafe at the moment…read more There have been reports recently that I have heard of men hiding in the bathrooms, including the women's bathrooms. One recent report was that 3 men came out of the bathroom and was headed toward someone's daughter. Another mom called the police recently because men were recording the children at the splash pad, but they didn't have any kids of their own. The bathroom by the playground and splash pad has two directions you can exit.. to the left towards the splash pad or toward the right towards the side wooded area. Please don't let your children go in there alone and always check the bathroom first. Lakewood park, please hire security and heavily monitor the children's area.

Those are narrow and the grass is high in those sections so keep that in mind. There are some nice canopy areas with trees that go over the path providing shade. This seems like a park you'd go early in the morning to walk. Parking was scarce. We found a tiny lot near the entrance so be aware. The river is nice and you're sure to see some turtles and birds here.
