The service was fast and great! Our server helped us decide on what food items were good. The margaritas and guacamole were so good! I'd rate the pineapple bowl a 7/10, I wish the rice was inside the bowl and not on the side and I wished that there were more pineapples on the inside but other than that it was good!

San Jose Mexican Restaurant INTRO: San Jose is a Mexican restaurant in Poyner village in Raleigh. They have nice indoor and a lake side view. Veggie Burrito Bowl (9.99): A Bowl made up of Rice, black beans, roasted corn, lettuce, pico de gallo and guacamole. Quantity was sufficient and was not spicy. Pollo Relleno ($16): Pan roasted chicken breast stuffed with sauteed vegetables, cheese, roasted tomato chipotle sauce and black beans. Chicken was on dry side, vegetables were cooked nicely and sauce was decent. Parking/ Location: This will be located in Poyner village parking lot. I had no trouble finding the parking Ambience and Service: The place is clean, good and has good interior décor. Customer service is average. The outdoor ambience is cozy and romantic.

Busy place, was seated after a 20 min wait, we have a group of 8 total. The waitress who seemed scared and overwhelmed came over after 13 min wait got our drinks relatively quickly, then we ordered. The food came out quickly but it spurts, half the table received theirs before the rest, maybe 6 min in between. I had the vegan bowl added cheese and shrimp, but it arrived without the cheese and I was charged $2 for it even after having to ask for the small amount that came. The portion was large and it was amazingly flavored and filling. I had a small margarita which was presented well. Wait time between food and being checked on was a little longer than I'd like, and the food is pretty pricey, But would try again in the area only if I was with a smaller group. Maybe that will make a difference.

    Enchiladas Los Cabos (seafood) Terrific!

It has been so long since we had been here because we had had a couple of not so good experiences, but this Thursday night we decided to give it a whirl again and both of us were very pleased with the improvements. First good sign was the horrible cleaning solution smell was gone! (and no worries- sanitation rating was solid). We were seated at a clean booth near the bathrooms but over looking the water. Service was terrific. Young Guy took very good care of us. I tried the Enchiladas Los Cabos, and Husband got the Beef Chimichangas. They are still doing free chips and salsa (unlike a lot of other places), and they were both good. Salsa tasted fresh and had a little kick to it. Meals came out pretty quickly and were both terrific. I couldn't believe all the seafood in mine! Menu had described these enchiladas as flour tortillas stuffed with avocado and queso fresco with a shrimp & scallop sauce. It was just the opposite. There were three flour tortillas FULL of seafood (yes shrimp and scallops, but I do believe some fish as well...all very good!) And there was even more seafood in the tasty sauce. Avocado and queso fresco were on top and on the side were a lot of greens and tomatoes with sour cream. I loved it and had enough left over for another meal the next day and it was good leftover as well. Husband was happy with his chimichangas. We both were pleased with flavor and quality improvements! As for the atmosphere, it was lively. In the back room where the bar is, we could hear a very fun-sounding birthday party happening. In the dining room, there were large and small groups of happy looking diners and cart-side guacamole was being made. Outside folks were basking in the sun around the pond with a fountain. Staff -hustling and smiling. And the prices were very reasonable, especially in these times of high costs everywhere. Very happy to be able to recommend this Mexican restaurant again!

Came here to eat with my family and the service was slow I ordered the enchilada ,burrito and taco plate and beware the burrito is covered in the red sauce too . They brought me another plate and my food was bland and wet yuck ! They put it on a wet plate . I talked to the manager who looked confused as I stated the wet food and asked if he would eat that he said what else do you want I said nothing and also 3% for customer assist fee on the bills . Wouldn't be a big deal if our server Claudia actually came by .

I came here with my friend for lunch. It wasn't busy at all on a Friday for lunch time. We were seated in the bar area. I got the carne asada tacos and they were pretty dry. I also got the street corn. That was good but the corn was a little mushy. Their salsa was really good though and their chips are fresh made. It's a good quick lunch spot.

    Street corn with hot Cheetos

Everything went well at first from the customer service to the atmosphere, until I ordered the street corn. I specifically asked for the street corn with hot Cheetos and received the regular street corn covered in tijan. I told the waitress hey I ordered the street corn covered in hot Cheetos for an extra fee. The waitress then tells me yea that's the hot Cheeto right there. Clear as day it's tijan. Like please do not insult my intelligence. I then asked another waiter hey is this regular street corn he said yes, I said exactly I ordered the street corn covered in hot Cheetos. He then tells me ok I'll get you the correct one. Guess what I waited around and never received the correct order. The waitress then asks if she can remove the regular street corn from the table. Like wtf. I'm highly disappointed with my first experience there!

    Drink menu OCT 2023

Service , Food quality , and location are all great !!! They even put a projector up so we can watch the NFL game !! Great place. Drinks are a bit pricey though. Every margarita is $15 or higher .

It was MAGNÍFICA The manager, or owner checked on us multiple times and our server was super attentive. The food looked like a dream and was hot, well-seasoned, and all around delicious. We got a 60oz margarita and it was not only huge, but had scrumptious, fresh fruit and was refreshing and strong - idek how you do that! Lastly, the place was so cute! It felt elegant and made us want to take pictures. It was comfortable and overall felt like a top notch experience!

Parking can be a bit difficult in this area depending on what time/day you go. Walking into La Santa the restaurant feels vibrant, energetic, and artistic which blends in with an industrial look and dia de los muertos murals on the walls. To be seated you'll check in with the host at front and then be shown to your table either inside or outside. When you sit down the server will bring complimentary chips and salsa to the table. The salsa and chips were food and not too spicy on the salsa/over salted on the chips. For food I ordered the Grilled Shrimp Tacos (Grilled shrimp, flour tortilla, homemade coleslaw, avocado, dehydrated onions, and homemade Chipotle sauce) and my partner ordered the De Pescado tacos (Mahi mahi fish, creamy sauce, cucumber, pico, mango, avocado, flour tortillas, and white rice). By far I would lean toward the shrimp for the flavor and softness of the meat. The fish was a bit tough to eat. Both taco plates also are served with a side of rice. Btw, on Tuesdays La Santa runs a special on taco plates (excluding the De Arrachera) for 50% off regular price. Highly recommend checking out La Santa if you are in the Glenwood South area. I'll have to try their cocktails next time.

It never came. After waiting, we had to flag down a server walking by, who eventually brought one--only for it to be broken. It then took another 10 minutes before we finally got a functional highchair. Throughout the visit, the staff seemed far more interested in talking amongst themselves than actually paying attention to guests. The overall atmosphere felt disorganized, inattentive, and unprofessional. The worst part came after we left. I realized almost immediately that I had left my wallet behind and called right away. Instead of any sense of urgency or willingness to help, the host who answered was incredibly rude and dismissive. Before I could fully explain the situation, she cut me off and told me to "call back tomorrow." When I tried to quickly describe the wallet--color, contents, anything that might help--she hung up on me mid-sentence. Considering I called almost immediately after leaving and was brushed off so quickly, it raises serious concerns about whether any real effort was made to locate it. I would hope any establishment would take something like that seriously. Between the lack of attention, the disorganization, and the way a simple, time-sensitive situation was handled, this place clearly has serious issues with customer service. I won't be back.

The service was very good with what seemed to be a newer server. She checked in quite often until it was time to bring the check. Had to ask her for that after about a 10 minute wait after she cleaned off the table. Outside of that, very friendly and attentive. The ACP had very thin slices of chicken which was nice, but not as much cheese as you typically see in other restaurants. According to the server, you do have to ask for some flour tortillas on the side if you want them as they don't come by default. The Pollo Tropical had a nice thin layer of chicken breast covered in cheese.... tasty. The margaritas were good and have a smear of taijin on one side of the rim which gives the drink a little spice. Prices are in line with other restaurants in the area. Definitely would recommend it.
