The guacamole and salsa were very good but other than that the Taco Bell across the street would have been better. I had the steak and shrimp and the steak was so dry I practically needed an Xacto knife to cut it. The porch is cute and has plenty of tables but the traffic noise is unbearable as the balcony stretches out inches from a busy street. read more

I have went here for a long time but that has came to an end when I took someone that had never been to this location before because it was my favorite.We ordered a drink they brought the chips then my guest saw a big roach crawling up the wall near another table where the guy killed it with a napkin.I was so sickened and after years there will never go back.I have told everyone I know now.We got up walked out.I give it no rating now a zero a warning to others to never go there.Its making me choose a star to post so I have to hit one but I give it none. read more

Hmmm...food was hot and fresh but not sure about the lack of service today. I felt like I was invisible. I was not greeted when I came into the restaurant. I stood near the cashier register where there was a guy who saw me but said nothing. There was an older gentleman behind that they helped who came after me. When I said hey to the guy at the register he told me to go find a table in the back. Menus were brought out a couple of minutes later. I am never one to complain but this was terrible service. How was I supposed to know that I am to seat myself? Management needs to do something about this. read more

We have been coming here every weekend for five years. It was our favorite until recently. The got new management and this guys walks around the restaurant on the phone so loudly, or just talking to the staff. I can't have a conversation because of him doing this. The quality of the food is different, the recipes are not the same. Salt is all I taste. I can't even take it home to fix it. The steak is fatty and bland. Absolutely flavorless and prices have gone way up, still charging service fees even though COVID is over. 2 customers lost..we tried 3x since the new changes of management and we are done. The food was pretty good! At first, I was a little skeptical because the only salsa they brought out was a non-spicy tomato sauce, but luckily, we were able to get a hot and spicy salsa! When my mom asked for a pitcher of margarita, they could only give us a frozen margarita, so we did that. My mom said it was a little different from a margarita and that it had a mango taste to it, but that it was good nonetheless. When our food was brought, it was delicious! Great place to get served very quickly. There mexican menu is very versatile in what you can get and the quantity. Offers a lot of options depending on what you like and how hungry you are and the variety. They have jnside and outside uncovered patio so if the weather and mosquitoes will let you then I have eaten outside. You can watch the action at Augusta and Leaphart intersection which one day we saw a 5 car accident (common occurrence) it's an intersection to be careful transversing. Value for the money is unparalleled that I've found in Columbia on a daily basis. read more

The food that actually arrived was cold and we had no way of hearing it up because we were in a hotel and they didn't being any plates or utensils. They prepared the fajitas incorrectly (had peppers when it was requested no peppers). Tosato was soggy (and yes child). We threw it all away. Very disappointed and when I tried to call to get it resolved no answer 3 times, 4th someone picked up and hung up and called back and got a fax noise. Argh. read more

New favorite Mexican restaurant! Just had a fantastic meal (carnitas) sitting outside with my boyfriend. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals (think he got the chicken quesadillas) and beers (Dos Equis-been forever since we've had those) and the outside late-evening setting was perfect. Love love love. I enjoyed my meal here. I went with some friends and my daughter whom all love this location and I could see why. The tables were spread out with clear markers for adequate spacing of customers. The service was good for the trouble and I don't mean we gave him a hard time. I mean I had a lot of questions about the bar and what's on tap so he had to either go inside or ask another server. My first question was what was on tap and he didn't know; then returns with a beer list and says nothing was on tap. The beer I chose they didn't have which made me wonder why he wrote it down. Later on, we saw other tables order tall beers on tap ... like what!? He told me no tap! I ordered a vegetable quesadilla which had more than just onions and peppers in it so I was very happy since many places only put onions, peppers and tomatoes. Had lunch at San Jose's. We were greeted right away and had drink orders taken. We were given chips and salsa, but the salsa was the usual blended tomato stuff that seems to be popular around here. I asked the waiter if they had something better and hotter. He brought us some salsa verde, which is a tomatillo based green sauce. This sauce was way better. I ordered 2 tacos, one with chicken and one with Carne Asada, and rice and beans. All were good but not great. My wife also got tacos and my daughter a quesadilla. The said there food was good as well. Overall, this place is ok. The service was good and the restaurant clean. The food is good, but not great. I don't believe they're part of the San Jose chain restaurants, it feels small business and family owned. the decor is beautiful and vibrant on the inside! the food was excellent. I'm one of the only people on earth I know who isn't huge Mexican food fan. I've eaten at several San Jose's in Columbia, but this one is better than the others. This is also the only Mexican place I ever crave and want to go to. It is small, and can be warm inside at times. They give you pico de gallo as well as salsa which is awesome. CHORIZO QUESADILLA! I was calling in for a simple request to see if by chance they could fax a menu over to my job. I then asked if there was a website where I could preview the menu online before driving over there for lunch. I called and they said they could not fax a menu, did not have a website and did not have one we could pick up at the restaurant. I then asked to speak to a manager because this guy was rude! Guess what? He hung the phone up. I work in customer service and if I were to treat a guest like that I would be looking for a job. Been coming here for a long time and recently it has changed and some of the staff is very nasty and fail to communicate. If something is an up charge you should let the patron know. Especially a $3.50 up charge! And how about a fajita taco salad, with an up charge .60 for onions and .60 for peppers (which you'd think come on a FAJITA taco salad) ..... it's already a $10 salad!
