I absolutely LOVE San Martin and I honestly do not know why I have yet to come back sooner! I recently popped back into San martin after not being there for a while, and OMG! I was instantly reminded why it is such a Dallas GEM! I did not pop in to eat this time, but to find a nice spot to work with a friend on our laptops and yap over a coffee! And while we weren't planning to do much, the experience was still a 10/10! I ended up ordering a White Chocolate latte and it was AMAZING! You can tell they actually put time and effort into their coffee and lattes! Everything is also brewed fresh! Which I love! My friend ordered a artesian hot chocolate and wow! It was probably some of the best hot chocolate I have ever had! It was def made with real cocoa! We did end up splurging on some pastries, because DUH! It's it so hard to ignore the bakery section when it is so stunning and filled with beautiful baked goods! I got a oreo croissant and tortuga concha! I did not eat them (My bf did) but they looked so great! I did try my friends banana custard filled bread and that was great! I would go back for it! We came out for their opening and unfortunately had a pretty disappointing experience. We arrived at 4:30 AM and got in line. Based on our count, we were around #40, #41, and #42, so we should have been within the first 50 people to receive the free bag. However, by the time we made it inside, they had already run out. The biggest issue was the lack of organization. There was no ticketing or clear system to keep track of who was actually in line. We also noticed people arriving later and joining friends and family who were already in line, which made the whole process feel unfair. I understand openings can be hectic, but when you're advertising something for the first 50 customers, there should be a system in place to make sure those who actually waited in line are counted. We got there extremely early for a reason, so it was definitely disappointing to miss out because of poor crowd control. read more

Have been wanting to try place and although I loved the ambiance and customer service. The food is very plain, I loved all the options and went for the salvadorian breakfast. The pupusas were very obviously frozen prior and reheated. The beans were very flavorless and looked cold, not much flavor from the ranchero sauce they top a lot of egg dishes with. I loved the freshly squeezed orange juice and the horchata was a good flavor. They seem to have a lot of sweet breakfast options which I have heard are good. I do want to try more of their drink options because they look tasty and fresh. I have to say that when you walk in, the interior is stunning. The amount of natural sunlight that comes in is gorgeous as well as the interior decoration. The aesthetic kind of sets the expectations high, but honestly, the food was just okay. It wasn't something I would rave about, personally. My niece that live in Austin, her husband and their new baby came out to visit me for a weekend we went out to breakfast and I brought them here they loved every they made had. The Migas plate was good, especially the egg scramble with the tortilla strips on top. I don't think I've ever had a scramble with those on top and I also appreciated the egg to mix-ins ratio. Sometimes there's not enough, but it seemed like a solid half-half here. The potato pancakes were exactly what you'd think they are. I did think they'd be more flavorful, but still good and definitely filling. The fruit tasted very fresh and was crisp, which is how I always prefer melon. I move back to Dallas a year and a half ago and since my move San Martin has become my favorite restaurant to visit. I go at least every couple of months for the amazing ambiance, service, and especially the food. It's the type of place you can have a date night or brunch date as well as a big group meal during a friend reunion. My favorite standouts on the menu include the chicken chilaquiles with green salsa (regular is better than the chipotle in my opinion. Also, these are the best I've had in Dallas), huevos rancheros, and the tostadas appetizers. Every meal comes with a homemade assortment of unique and tasty savory breads which is my favorite part. The restaurant specializes in brunch and breakfast foods but also has dinner. The view from inside is beautiful. First off, we wanted to have brunch at the restaurant. It was 2 o'clock and they stopped breakfast at noon. So we ordered lunch and just a warning potato chips are an extra two dollars the plantains and potato salad that come with some of the dishes are not an extra charge. I recommend the plantains because they're freshly made and delicious. The potato chips are made in house and so those are extra fresh and hot and crispy. When you order a drink, they serve it to you large and then when you order your lunch special that comes with a drink the drink is a medium, and so you still have to pay for the large drink. The free refills on coffee only applies to the morning. The sandwich and soup specials do not include the seasonal soup. I read somewhere that there was a complementary bread basket, and we asked and got a choice of sweet or savory bread and everyone was being picky because we ordered the large appetizer so we got a vanilla croissant and a fruit tart which I highly recommend the fruit tart and it wasn't on the bill so I believe it was complimentary. Happy hour starts after 3 o'clock and then they also have a cake and coffee special after 3 pm. I really love the avocado and Pepita salad. It came with chicken even as as part of the special and it was very delicious and I really loved the fruit tart and hibiscus tea. Jamaica. The ambience is beautiful however there was some annoying flies and gnats once the food came around. The bakery is a must stop by and I really really wanted to try the rolled croissant, but there was a miscommunication and I didn't get it. After a difficult day attending a family member's burial, we went to San Martin Bakery for coffee and sweet bread. It ended up being the perfect place for our family to gather. The bakery is spacious, very clean, and the atmosphere felt welcoming. The staff was kind and accommodating, and we really appreciated being able to get a large table for our group of 15 without any issues. The breads were absolutely delicious -- the chocolate croissants were my personal favorite! Everything tasted fresh and comforting. The only small disappointment was that my coffee was a little cold, but honestly, everything else more than made up for it. I visited San Martin on a Tuesday morning. This was such a treat. I first dined at the restaurant for brunch. I ordered the Pan de Muerto French toast for brunch and I had a Tiramisu Frappe. I really enjoyed the Frappiato, very tasty. This restaurant does get pretty busy on the weekends. They have free valet if you are eating here so that is convenient with the location and how hard it is to find a spot around San Martin. We stopped by two weeks ago one evening after dinner to pick up some dessert. It is a restaurant and a bakery combined. The bakery was well lit and welcoming. I also appreciated that they were open late (for a bakery). They had many savory and sweet options. We liked going down the aisles and looking at all the options. I ended up getting a slice of fresa cake (their most popular option) and a box of alfajores. Both were delicious. The cake was moist and twisted like fresh strawberries. I arrived to this fantastic Guatemalan bakery franchise much much earlier than my friend, so of course I started with coffee and pastries. This was not my first time here, but it was my first time dining in, so I got myself a lovely little window seat at a high top bistro table. I ordered an Americano, which was done right, and I tried one of the healthy smoothies. If you don't drink them fast enough, they do start to separate in a rather unappealing way, so if how it looks matters to you, I don't recommend them for bringing to the office or a long car ride. The pastries, as usual, were delectable, and I highly recommend the vanilla croissant and the guava strudel. I will eat conchas any where I can find them, so I'm happy to say these were on point. Once my friend finally arrived with hugs and chisme, we switched gears and ordered a margarita and some real food. I appreciate an establishment that provides both your uppers and your downers in the same place! I ordered the black bean soup, a satisfyingly salty soup, and beef carpaccio with avocado and capers, which was a tangy, delightful tapas. Service was stellar.
