****3.5 actual rating*** I had really high hopes for this place because it was recommended by someone who lives in the area. It was fairly easy to find and we found parking right away. The place itself is decently sized but has pretty dim lighting. The price point was pretty affordable and they have a pretty extensive menu of both food and drinks. We ordered 1 steak taco, 2 chicken tacos, 2 al pastor tacos, 1 steak quesadilla and a chicken nachos. The chicken nachos was the most expensive but it was HUGE and this was super yummy. I highly recommend the chicken nachos, they gave a lot of toppings and the chips were super crunchy and the flavors went amazing together. Everything else was just okay. I found the taco meats pretty dry and a bit lacking in flavor but the al pastor was def the best one out of all the tacos. The quesadilla was just okay in my opinion, nothing too special but not bad either. I would probably come back to this place if I am in the area but mainly for their nachos. read more

Hey guys, this delicious restaurant has moved! They are now located at 6 Decker Avenue!! It's become like a general store with a delicious restaurant. San Miguel is truly one of only three Staten Island Mexican restaurants that truly serve authentic Mexican food! The best way to experience them is by calling ahead of time, ordering your food, and then picking it up. Whatever we have ordered has been absolutely scrumptious! From their pillowy, creamy yellow rice and their smooth beans, to their wide assortment of boba fide, typical dishes, such as huaraches, enchiladas, tacos, tortoise, etc. The enchiladas come in a choice of green or red sauces, and I must say the red sauce was the best molè sauce that I have ever tasted. Low key spot with authentic Mexican food. Service is quick. I recommend the carnita sopes, carnitas tacos and steak tacos. Only $2.50 a taco. Their green sauce is flavorful, more spicer than other Mexican spots which I like. The new address is 6 Decker Avenue. They accept card as long as it's $10+. read more

My father ordered two enchiladas de verde. And instead I go two enchiladas de mole. When I got to food the bottom tray was overflowing with mole sauce. I usually have a great experience with this establishment but tonight I was very disappointed. I hope that in the future the can improve them selves in the future. And I hope I can have a good experience next time when I order next time. There food is great and tasty by the way. They made a new order and it was delicious. I loved it. read more

Okay so I came here with my parents and my sister for dinner and we heard this place praised so much for its "delicious" food. So I ordered a torta Cubana. My parents ordered tacos and some other things along with my sister. I'll review my food first then my families. So I got my torta Cubana and I'm Mexican I know my food like the back of my hand. This torta was missing flavor and seasoning and so much of it. I expected so much and got so little. It was not worth $9. The meat had no flavor and I couldn't even tell what kind it was honestly. The bread was actually hard and not soft. The Jalepeños were cold and I tasted more hot dog meat then the ham or the unknown meat. There was only like one spread of beans. The tomato was also cold and like I said before there was a lack of seasoning missing. I also felt like I tasted more bread then the veggies or the meats. So now the review from my parents. There was a lack of seasoning on the tacos meat. There was not enough meat on the tacos and the portion was really small. Not worth $2-$3 for the tacos. Handmade tortillas can't complain since there handmade. My sisters food was alright considering it that they were quesadillas. In overall review the food wasn't good for me or my parents. The food was missing so many things. You won't get what you pay for here. It's A Bit overpriced. Not the best food out there. People are over praising this store when in actuality it's not that great. I say please check out some other places then this store. Also they take about 30 minutes to get your food out which was also upsetting because there was also other people still waiting to receive there food and it's not worth the wait nor the price. read more

My favorite Mexican spot in the Island! It's not fancy. Just authentic Mexican food at more than reasonable prices. Serving sizes are large and you get a lot for your money. I love the bistek and langoniza. Anytime I want to deliver Mexican this is my go to spot. read more

Like the food and the service is great too. Have been eating their food for years. For those of us who can't handle extreme hot seasoning (pique), they can suggest dishes that are flavorful without the heat. They don't use lard like other mexican eateries do. read more

This is an immaculate, teeny and quaint restaurant serving the real thing. It is a family run restaurant featuring delicious & the most authentic cuisine north of the border.
