Really great vegetarian banh mi, my favorite place for vegetarian Banh mi honestly. Good bread and good veggie meat. They can also make it vegan but I prefer having mayonnaise. I love coming here every time I'm in the area.

This place is a treasure for all vegetarians!! :) Since their closing time is early (6 pm), I haven't been able to come here so often but today I made it! I got some tomato based soup noodles and wanton soup baked noodle and they were very good!! :) They have amazing food options in the morning and early lunch time so if you wanna see varieties I recommend you to come earlier! I like the service here and peaceful environment! :) Come and enjoy vegetarian diets! Cheers

It's a Vietnamese vegetarian place that offers groceries/and deli (to go or dine in). The takeout counter is a little hectic. Prices range - some things are cheap and some aren't (everything is made in house so some things get a pass for being high). My mom always gets the soy milk (unsweetened) at the Chinese grocery store so we decided to venture here to get it fresh from the source. There's a lot of good finds here. The parking lot is small and cramped so I recommend going early or not on the busy weekend.

I have been to San San Tofu 山山豆腐 many times to pick up vegetarian groceries few years ago. Just recently, my friend Cathy wanted to show a group of people that vegan dim sum exists in Houston Chinatown. This is not a fancy restaurant nor with a full service. So, don't ask much, just look. As I walked in, grocery store was the first thing I see. Walk towards the left if their restaurant. Employees are very friendly. But not everyone speaks fluent English. So, be patient. One side of food warmer is for lunch box. Next one is the dim sum display. Further, the restaurant cashier is at the end of the line. You can order banh mi or noodles or anything from the menu that is not on display. Food has gone up due to inflation, this is nothing new across the country. So, the two-item and three-item lunch is really reasonable. I ordered some dim sum and asked for a knife to cut them for sharing. They gave me a pair of scissors instead. Three pieces of any type of Dim Sum is $5.50. All vegan. Don't complain there is not meat. Even though they have chicken and beef on the menu. I also ordered Bún bò Huế with vegetarian beef. Sigh... The "beef" is flavored textured soy protein slices. The display looks like the real thing. Vegan version of real thing actually tasted pretty good. Don't overthink what the real thing tastes like. If you want fresh vegan dim sum, best to come before noon. You'll get the real taste of San San Tofu.

Walking in I didn't realize this was also a grocery store and was happily surprised by all the vegetarian and vegan products! I ended up getting the combination house Banh Mi. It was stacked with filling. The daikon was the highlight of the sandwich, it was super sweet and crunchy. I do wish there were more greens in the sandwich. The meat dupes were not bad but did not remind me of meat at all. I thought the pate was kind of bland. Overall glad I tried the sandwich but I don't think I would get it again. Service is what you would typically expect for an asian restaurant.

This is a hidden gem! Restaurant to the left with delicious vegan food and the grocery store to right to purchase a variety of food and more made in the kitchen. I've been back several times since my first visit the service is always good, dinning area is well maintained. Looking for a good vegan restaurant add San San Tofu to your list.

This place is magical for anyone who's on a vegetarian diet. The food is super fresh and tasty. The staff is the nicest ever! You'll be so lucky if the manager Kimberly is taking care of you. Highly recommended!

BBQ buns & veggie buns and tofu spring rolls

My sister and I came here to get take out. We opted for the bbq buns and the veggie buns. We also got the tofu spring rolls. Everything was good, but my favorite was definitely the tofu spring rolls. We also picked up a few grocery items like the instant Vietnamese coffee, some noodles, and dried bananas. This is an interesting place for grabbing a quick bite or for ordering take out. I will be back next time in the area.

Honestly. If you a vegetarian. This might be the place for you. Tbh I'm pretty tofu'd out. The flavors were nice, but it started to feel repetitive. I started out enjoying it, then as the meal went on, I started to dread finishing.

    Full plate for $12.99!

Great vegan/ vegetarian food. Stumbled upon it while out for lunch. Reasonably priced. A full plate of rice, mixed veggies, an egg roll, 2 other main dishes (both vegan items) and a soup was $12.99!

San San Tofu is one of my FAVORITE places in the bellaire area! I am vegetarian and it is so affordable. My sister is also allergic to shellfish so it is one of the few places in bellaire she can eat because everything there is vegan! The combo plates are less than $13 and I always have leftover. I definitely recommend always getting at least one vegetable with your combo because otherwise all the imitation meat loses its tang. Also come around peak lunch time (11am-1pm). If you come too early or late they won't have soup and the soup is amazing!

The lunch plate! Stir-fried eggplant, green beans, some fried tofu and noodles with sour soup and green tea.

Trying out new places means I've been eating a lot of meat recently, so when my husband asked where we should go for a 'lighter' lunch, San San Tofu was a great compromise. Non-meat options don't tend to fill him up, but I was pretty hungry - and we both left satisfied. San San's lunch specials haven't changed in price since late last year, so it's still around $10 for three items plus rice or noodles. Everything's served cafeteria-style, and the ladies dishing up the food were very nice even though we don't speak Vietnamese - you can just point to the food and they'll ladle a generous portion onto your plate. We both opted for the green beans and fried tofu, but I decided to get eggplant (seems to be a popular dish - there wasn't much left!) while he went for a vegan take on 'Shaking Beef'. After our entrees were plated, we just had to wait for someone to grab our soup and drinks from behind the counter, and we paid with cash. Both our entrees came with a bowl of what I'm pretty sure was a vegetarian Canh Chua - and while the husband wasn't a fan of its surprisingly sour taste, I found it was a great palate cleanser between the various oily dishes. The eggplant was especially great with a little of the chili oil from the table, and the tofu pieces were thick and hearty with a 'house made' quality, without being too greasy. Iced tea is also included with lunch if you dine in; ours was still pretty hot when we got it, the ice melted pretty much instantly, but all we had to do was ask nicely and we got an additional cup of ice. Refills don't seem to be offered, but the food is nicely seasoned and not too salty, so we didn't find ourselves needing one. Overall, it was pretty good. Cheap, all-vegetarian, and a good selection of hot dishes even on the weekends. Next time I'll probably come earlier to try the Dim Sum (at around 1 pm they were sold out of practically everything), and even my meat-loving husband is interested in the "chicken" noodle soup that's new on their menu.

Still a local favorite spot I love to visit for lunch to get soup or hot lunch items! They have a grocery side you can browse along with other ready made food items you can grab and go. I love the vegetarian noodle dish they have packaged at the register. When dining in you get a free hot or cold tea with your meal. The service is good the ladies do speak enough English to help when ordering.

The parking was a bit of a challenge, but it was easy enough because it was a calm Tuesday morning. To get from the parking area to the store, you just take the elevator one level down, and then you're right inside. This place is surprisingly big, filled with all kinds of snacks, cookies, and coffee. The highlight for me was their shawarma breakfast wrap. It was top-notch and exactly what I needed. You choose between whole wheat or white pita, and it's filled with scrambled eggs, your choice of fresh or sautéed spinach, and they add potatoes as well. Then they top it with shawarma chicken, tomato, and a delicious sauce. For $8.5 it was worth every bite. Hands down, a five out of five. I also tried their coffee, which was just a standard brew sitting in ice for hours and nothing special. At $2.50, it was fine, but nothing to write home about. The real stars were the cookies. I got a coconut pecan cookie and an almond crunch cookie, and both were absolutely delicious. I didn't have time to explore the whole store, but there was a great selection of fresh produce, chocolates, and all sorts of small treats. Overall, the staff were really friendly, and the entire visit was smooth. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area. Five out of five stars!

My father wanted bakery items for breakfast and settled for the usual Hostess and Hostess-like choices you'd find at, again, a convenience store. However, the gentleman behind the register was pleasant and helpful. A customer came in and while checking out casually mentioned he had a close friend die the day before in a car crash. Now, something that never fails to annoy me: one of the entrance doors is always locked. Every time. So you're forced to walk around to the main entrance. Minor, but annoying. Thankfully, the elevators from the garage always work, so silver lining there if you park downstairs. Today I was reminded of another classic Randall's feature: the smell. I stopped in on my bike to grab some veggies and, like clockwork, was hit with that signature aroma, somewhere between a porta-potty and a city park at noon in July. I think it was coming from outside this time... but I've definitely caught a whiff inside before too. Is it overpriced? Yes. Is it so conveniently located that I keep coming back anyway? Also yes. To be fair, the prepared food section and the bread game are on point. If carbs are a love language, this place is fluent. Bonus points: they've added EV charging for our green-driving friends. But I think they shrank some of the parking spots. I watched a jacked-up truck on stilts struggle to park in a handicap space. Waiting for the driver to hop out onto the hood of the next car over.

Here's what I love about Central Market: the produce, salads, sandwiches, meats, seafood, wine, cereal, yogurts, bread, coffee, ice cream, spices - actually pretty much everything. Even their flowers are incredible. Now here are some pro tips; listen carefully: - if you want the real, full CM experience, go on a Saturday or Sunday. Go to Central Market and just buy exactly what you need for your recipe. You'll spend 24 cents for this and 58 cents for that, etc. Not $5 for a jar of spices that will lose its flavor or expire after a year. And the big question everyone asks: Central Market or Whole Foods? Whole Foods has way more locations, but CM takes the cake. It's just amazing. Trust me.

They did it perfect! The jalapeño sausage was a little dryer that I like it to be especially for having cheese in there. Still ate it and it was great.! So good I forgot to take a picture We'll definitely be going back to this place!

I'm adjusting my review to reflect Veronica's willingness to turn this experience into an opportunity. We were looking forward to trying this restaurant while staying at a hotel in Houston for medical treatments. We had it delivered to our hotel and sadly it wasn't the best experience. When we got our order to the room we were missing one side that we ordered. We got Mac n cheese, green beans and potato salad with a brisket/smoked chicken combo and a brisket/ribs. I was shocked to see two pieces of brisket and a chicken breast for $28. Maybe it was an off night but the quality just wasn't there. All the food was cold (our fault bc we ordered it for delivery) and was lacking flavor. Overall, we'd rate it like this: Brisket 3/5 Chicken 2/5 Mac n cheese 1.5/5 Green beans 3/5 Ribs 3/5 Potato salad 2/5 Maybe they were having a bad night but I wish our experience was better.
