    Boss Lady Fried chicken box

Very helpful and friendly staff! This little fast food asian fusion spot opened up in the energy corridor near Seiwa. Ordered the Big Boss Lady Chicken Box and it came with a huge deep fried chicken cutlet, rice, eggroll, veggies and soup. The chicken was juicy, but the skin didn't really stay on. So, kinda had to make shift it to eat the crunch and actual chicken in one bite. Overall, it was juicy and seasoned okay. They also serve banh mi's and vermicelli bowls as well. Big Boss Banh Mi is a small, fast restaurant tucked next to Seiwa supermarket. The service is typical of any boba + small snacks joint and there is plenty of parking. There are a few high top tables and a bench area with small tables as well. We tried the Mad Box, which is a huge Taiwanese style fried chicken cutlet and fries served with a side of pickled onions, wasabi mayo, and ketchup. The chicken cutlet was very juicy and nicely flavored. I assume that the chicken itself is brined and fried to order since the meat was seasoned throughout and came out very hot. The only hiccup we encountered during our visit was that a good amount of the breading fell off of the chicken. The pickled onions and wasabi mayo compliment the dish well. I've found my new cheat meal close to the office! I also look forward to trying the other items, namely the banh mi and drinks (vietnamese coffee, etc).

Came in for a random weekday lunch because we heard about their big fried chicken platter. The storefront is a small little shop with some 1-2 tops. You order and pick up food at the counter. We got the fried chicken plate combo that came with fries and pickled veggies. Overall, a pretty solid meal. Around $11 for everything, which is decent for the portion size. The chicken filet was battered in light crispy batter and paired well with the accompanying green sauce. It's nothing you can't get in houston chinatown, but definitely a nice lunch option if you are in the memorial/ energy corridor area. Would want to come back next time to try the bahn mis!

Ordered the Boss Lady Fried Chicken(cutlet only) $9.99 and the Rice Box w/Boss lady fried chkn $12.99 Cutlets are huge, big bang for your buck. I've always passed this place up and now will be consistently dropping by. Their shop is petite but their food is loudly good with swift service. 4/19/25

Recognizing a Taiwanese owned business today ! BBB (Big Boss Banh Mi) is insipiring from Vietnamese famous sandwiches and serving in the West side of Houston! They are located in the same plaza as the Japanese grocery store, Seiwa. It's nestled on a smaller unit but good enough for what it's serving. Parking is definitely wide, without struggle. Location wise, it's also less than 10min away from the WoW plaza with all the Asian stores. Inside, you'll find a few high tables with high chairs on the right side, a unique way for single customers on the left side. This is not for groups,, who will need to take out if wishing to enjoy the menu together. Order at the counter, menu set on the right wall. It's as expected: banh mi and rice box. Each served with a side of pho soup or chips. The novelty in this store is in its touch of Taiwanese honor: the bigger-than-your-face chicken fried steak!! This chicken fried steak is juicy, good amount of spice and can be ordered as a solo item or part of a rice box. Which is what I've gotten: comes with rice, some crispy onion, some lettuce leaf, some shredded carrot, one egg roll, a bit of fish sauce. If you've been to Taiwan, this is great throwback. $12.99 Also, added a chicken banh mi. Great portion of protein, not too buttery and the bread isn't the crunchy kill between your teeth type. As drinks, tried their house lemonade, and milk tea. Both are great choice and probably enjoying the milk tea slightly more... Because it's the full combo with the chicken fried steak you'd get traditionally at a night market in Taiwan ! On their menu, there are also kids menus, smoothies and sides (dumplings or fries anyone). I think it's quite comprehensive and should fit most cravings ! Overall, owner was patient. Service was prompt enough (I mean they gotta fry that huge piece of chicken). Last detail to mention, if you wanna go for a quick look around the store, find the bread loaf item. That's where the napkins are at. Lol, nowhere else. I'm 100% planning on going back. Enjoy!

Good quick grab and go spot for Vietnamese staple foods. The fried egg banh mi had two perfectly cooked fried eggs with runny yolks. The place is clean and cute and one can sit and eat there.

You'd think the star menu item of this place would be banh mi as it's in the shop's name, but that's wrong. The other items are good, but the 5 stars are all for the chicken cutlet. It's a Taiwanese style cutlet in every single possible way. The size (bigger than your face...literally), the breading, spice options (spicy is truly spicy by the way), the juiciness of the chicken, the packaging...this is as close as you can get besides physically being in Taiwan. Honestly, I thought this was even better than some that I've had in Taiwan because of the higher quality chicken. Wish they would open a location closer to the 610 loop!

One of the better banh mi places in the area. I enjoyed their combination sandwich and the bread doesn't cut your mouth up like some other places. Also tried their giant Taiwanese chicken cutlets which tasty and crunchy. Overall, a great little lunch spot.

Great Vietnamese sandwich and appetizers. I liked the coffee too. The real star was the fried chicken. So good so salty with a little bit of heat. I don't know what it was but I know I want more. The place is tinny but clean. The perfect quick bite on the run. If you're looking to feed the family I would suggest getting the food Togo.

New eatery in the Seiwa shopping center. Note they are still in soft opening so not everything on the menu is available and the drink menu isn't posted yet but I asked to take a picture on the order screen. Small and clean, with bench seating and a couple of high tops. The food was def good and I'm sure will get a 5 once they're in full swing. To be fair we showed up in the middle of tornado weather, alerts going off, and lights flickering so I rounded up to a 4. Grilled pork banh mi and bbq chicken banh mi (4.5/5): Plentiful meat and veggies and very filling. Note this is chewier bread. Since we got our order to go, I stuck mine in the toaster oven for 10 min and crisped it up. Very good flavor. Boss lady fried chicken (3.5/5): This is advertised as Taiwanese style, which really drew me in. I can confirm the seasoning is reminiscent of Taiwanese chicken and the cut is nice and thick. The cook was good but I wish the breading was a bit crispier. Again, to be fair, we ran out of there so it may be better in person. Will try again for sure. Bigboss milk tea (4/5): I asked for half sweet and they accommodated but now I know to ask for 75% next time. 50% was a little too light for me but I didn't want too sweet either! Pho broth (5+/5): We tried to get the mini pho noodle soup but they don't have that yet so we settled for the broth to test it out. Hard to describe but it's very clear and has that umami flavor without being fatty. Really want this place to succeed given how close it is! Great potential - can't wait to try again once they have their full menu ready.

Honestly thought I had to fly to Taiwan to get the giant spicy chicken cutlet. It was such a nice surprise since I came for banh mi and was able to find the hella large spicy chicken cutlet. So juicy and flavorful, fresh and I can't wait to be back already! Cozy, a little warm inside but simple and clean decoration. Customer service was great, flexible with my odd order since I needed just plain bread and they were very accommodating! Can't wait to bring some of my friends They would love this place!

The menu was quite expansive but cohesive with Italian/ Asian fusion. I got seated and immediately was given a menu and cold water in a stainless steel cup. I ordered the sliced beef udon soup version (there's also an option for stirfy) but granted, today was cloudy and slightly windy so it called for soup. After placing my order, I was given the proper utensils and shortly after, a large piping bowl was placed in front of me! Flavor was good and the sliced beef was addicting.. the portion was a bit much for lunch to me so I had to ask for togo and the waitress came out and put it away for me in a custom togo bag that sealed so that was fun to leave with. The waitress was certainly very tentative and made sure other guests had their waters filled at all times so I'd love to come back to try out their other menu items like their omurice or their lobster creamy rice. The staff were nice and hard working. I was excited when they first opened bc they had chow fun on the menu and being HK Cantonese, I love that dish but when I ordered it the 1st and 2nd time eight years ago instead of bean sprouts they had cabbage and that alters rhe flavor tremendously. The music is a mix of EDM, Hip-hop, Rap, and R&B. They have tables and bar top seating. If you have a bigger group, I'm sure you can find a table depending on the time you arrive. There is a lot of seating. To start off, I ordered the Matcha Martini. It was STRONG omg, definitely a sipper, but it was so good. It was creamy and had a good matcha flavor. I love how they added matcha powder on top. For drinks, I also tried their espresso martini and Bubbly Pineapple. The espressos here are good, no complaints. The Bubbly Pineapple is so cute; it comes out with a bubble of smoke you can pop. The drink is very refreshing; it really tastes like pineapple. FYI, the drink has little black seeds, so if you don't like textures in your drink, maybe this one isn't for you. Also the drink came with a little frozen pineapple you can add to your drink once you pop the bubble As an appetizer, I got a dozen raw oysters and decided to add the $5 tobiko (fish eggs). Let me say, they were not stingy with the Tobiko, there was so much on my Oysters, I mean a lot! The oysters were good, and so was the tobiko, but I feel that with so much tobiko, it kind of took away from the oysters. Still good though, especially for $21 for the dozen with the tobiko! It was very filling I'm not gonna lie, I got pretty full with the oysters, but I still had to eat my entree As an entree, I ordered the Short Ribs, which came with rice and a side salad. I didn't think I was going to eat much of my entree since the oysters had filled me up, but I ate the short ribs down to the bone! Every single one of those ribs I devoured, no meat was left on my plate. I didn't have space to eat, but my stomach made space for this. 10/10 would recommend the short ribs, especially with the delicious sauce it came with. I think it's like a fish sauce 10/10 for food and drinks. Bonus: the staff here is really friendly. I really enjoyed my time here. I need to come more often for sure, this is definitely a Katy gem
