    Being served my banh mi

I enjoy the banh mi A1 special combination. The atmosphere is calm and the service is nice. The wait time was quick.

Banh mi dac biet and bun rieu oc.

Sometimes I forget that I'm not Vietnamese... like when I'm busy ordering the banh mi dac biet for me and a banh mi thit nuong with hot ga (in full accent) for my boyfriend. And then I'll come to a place like Paris Sandwich Cafe, order the Bun Rieu based off of other Yelp reviews, and remember that I'm not Vietnamese at all... I'm an Americanized Filipino girl, confused, eating Bun Rieu. There aren't a lot of foods that make me go, "What the hell is that?" but you got me good Paris Sandwich Cafe. In no way am I saying that the Bun Rieu is bad! I'm saying that if you aren't Vietnamese or you didn't grow up eating the tomato crab soup, then the fermented shrimp paste, snails, and blood cubes might be a little bit surprising. Their banh mi dac biet is one of the best banh mi I've ever tried - definitely the best dac biet by far. Warm, toasted, fresh french bread with extra Asian mayo, stuffed with pate, sliced pork, head cheese, and all sorts of mystery pork products! What is life without a little mystery? I couldn't get enough of the savory goodness. I wish I could say the same about their banh mi thit nuong. I felt that the thit nuong was lacking in flavor, and my mama taught me to never settle for mediocre meat. And the Bun Rieu... when I ordered it the lady sort of giggled at my torn up pronunciation. She asked, "Are you sure?". I should have heeded her warning then. There wasn't really a description of the soup on the wall so I didn't know what was coming. I didn't add the shrimp paste because it wasn't the hot pink kind I grew up with. I picked up the snails and thought, "Are these barnacles?". The soup was a little bland because I didn't add the shrimp paste. The blood cake was very irony and stained my mouth for the rest of the day. I think the Bun Rieu was just too foreign for me at the time, and I may give it another try in the future to make sure. On the other hand, the banh mi dac biet is the holy mecca of pork product heaven. Through rain, or shine, or construction on Bellaire - I'll be coming back for this very "dac biet" sandwich. Google it: http://translate.google.com/#vi/en/dac%20biet

With Vietnamese food, i believe this would be the best in local place. with Banh Mi and Bun Bo Hue

The best banh mi in China town. Next to Tau Bay in the corner, I won't go anywhere else for Vietnamese sandwiches. Highly recommend.

    1. Service - Make sure to order and pay up front. Tell the guy if you want it "to-go" or not. They have a menu at the top, behind the cashier. Order from that, and if he has trouble understanding you, just tell him which number. The boss is quite friendly though. 2. Price - $2.50 to $3.50 a sandwich. 3. Ambiance - Small petite cafe, and fits about 25 people. Dress code is casual. 4. Food - I love their sandwiches. It's pretty good, but it doesn't quite cater to the American customers as English is very limited. But to eat good food, is all about the food right? 5. Cleanliness - I wouldn't say it's spotless, but it's doable. I can't wait til my next visit.

The prices are bit high compared to their competitors. $3.75 for dac biet (don's provides that for $3) I went for the xiu mai $3.25 (meatball) The lady stuffed it with 4 meatballs that and topped it off with the typical garnishments and some of the meatball sauce. I wish she would have heard me, because I wanted her to put pate in my banh mi. Overall the banh mi was tasty, The bread is soft and not deadly. If I were craving a xiu mai banh mi. I'd come back

Tons of home style choices, opens early enough for pre-golf meal, and they made the Ghetto sandwich's even better. But the best part is they took a ghetto sandwich(Ban-mi?) Some how bored through the middle of it and loaded more meat. Mas carne, and less carbs. And it tasted fantastico! Cool staff, tons of items on the menu. , Will go back for more...

Went in for tofu banh mi but was presently surprised to find they had several mock meat options. Definitely want to go back and try more of them and the Vietnamese coffee was good, a little too sweet for me, but had a great flavor.

Bread is too small. Mexican lady did not add butter or vegetables to my pate sandwich. Paid three bucks for this. Felt cheated.

Clearly the glass had not been properly cleaned. I brought it to the bartender's attention and while she offered to remake the drink, there was no apology beyond that, no refund offer, and honestly no sense of urgency or concern about serving a dirty glass. By that point, I was completely put off and declined the replacement. I understand mistakes happen, but cleanliness at a bar should be the bare minimum, especially when it comes to drinkware. Unfortunately, this experience ruined the visit for me and I won't be returning.

I will say this flavor particularly was a 5/5 for me. It was exactly what I was looking for (carbs, spicy Caesar salad...not hard to please). However, I haven't found myself wanting to come back even though I drive past this area pretty frequently. If I did come back, I'd probably just order the same flavor again because it was that good. The Zeppelin is very filling though and kept me good for 2 meals, I just think nothing else on the menu appealed to me (other than the Spicy Tejano) enough to steer away from my go-to sandwich/bowl places if the craving for that type of food ever came. The staff were super friendly though and parking wasn't terrible. I can see why they chose the location since it is a great lunch spot for people in the area tbat want something quick but don't wanna run into the mall/opt for fast food drive thru.

I understand that this location is brand new, so I wasn't expecting them to be amazing out of the gate. To keep things short, everything was amazing. There was a great design, great service, great food, but the only thing that couldn't compare was the lack of meat I was given at this location. It's not like they barely gave me any meat, but the Meyerland location gives like triple meat without you even asking. So I might come back in a few months to see if anything's changed, but I'll stick with the Meyerland location just to get more bang for my buck.

When it arrived, I noticed something looked off, so I checked it before eating. Good thing I did--because the sandwich had ham on it. I am allergic to pork. Not "I don't like it"--I'm talking about swelling and ER visits. So this could have gone very differently if I hadn't checked first. I called the store expecting at least some concern or an attempt to fix the issue. Instead, I got a very dismissive response and was told to go through Uber Eats for a refund. No apology, no acknowledgment of the allergy risk, no effort to make it right. Uber Eats gave me a partial refund, which didn't even cover the sandwich. Mistakes happen--but how you handle them matters. In this case, the lack of care and accountability was disappointing. I won't be ordering from this location again, and I'd strongly caution anyone with food allergies to double-check their order.
