This is a new ramen shop that just opened where you can order on a tablet and tipping is not required. I got their signature Sanchome ramen set that came with a small gyudon to pair with the ramen. This is a tonkotsu based broth that had a nice umami flavor. The spicy buta added a nice little flavor kick to the ramen. Gyudon was also pretty good but nothing amazing. Solid ramen spot if you are in the area!
This is one of the newer ramen spots in the area. We dined here as a family and felt that Sanchome offers a unique dining experience that felt inspired by Japan. Ordering is done entirely through a tablet at your table, and the staff brings the food directly to you. When paying, there's no tipping expected, which aligns with Japanese dining customs and keeps the experience straightforward, although I did feel like the prices made up for it. The ramen itself was decent, but the broth wasn't served hot and more on the lukewarm side, which took away from the overall experience. For a dish where temperature plays such an important role, I expected it to arrive hotter. The menu has a variety of ramen, donburi, and a couple of apps (gyoza, edamame, chicken karaage). Service was friendly throughout the meal. It's in a strip mall in Centreville and located right next to Paris Baguette.
I came here on my birthday yesterday after shooting my hunting bow at the nearby IWLA ARL-FFX Chapter. It wasn't bad at all! The menu is a bit limited but is straight to the point. I got the Tonkotsu Shotyu Ramen (no bean sprouts, no green onion, add corn, and extra ramen egg) and it was incredible. The chasu was a good a bit fatty but it's pork what do you expect but the meat to fat ratio was solid. The broth was incredible, a great taste that I felt compelled to sip the remaining broth out the bowl after all the food in it was gone! Also this place has a "no tipping" policy. Which makes sense considering in Japan tipping at a restaurant is looked down upon.
I loved hakata ramen (thin noodles) and this was the best I've had in the DMV area! Authentic flavors in the broth with great toppings and loved the thin noodles. My mom was craving karage and she said it reminded her of Japan! My only note is that it had way too much bean sprouts for my liking and I will probably ask for a little less (it was in every bite). Can't wait to be back! And to top it off - similar to Japan, it's a NO tipping system :)

I only snapped a photo of the first dish that came out because once the food arrived we dug in since we were so hungry. I did not think the ramen here was all that great. IMO, it taste a bit bland so I added a bit of the spicy buta which helped a little. The broth is just missing the rich umami flavor.
The food was so far one of the best ramen spots we had in DMV area. This ramen is from Fukuoka so the broth is leaning towards creamy and the noodles is thin. We love thin noodles! The broth is not as rich as am used to but still good. The gyu don was also good, we would come back for a bowl and trying the hakata ramen. The service is the same in Japan, you have a tablet or machine who will take your order and then someone will deliver it. And also No TIP! for embracing the food, atmosphere, and the culture! The price is right for what you are getting. Note that their noodles are all freshly made no frozen ones. Then people are so nice. It is in the strip mall so you have shared parking. Overall experience was good!
Craving some Japanese ramen, and this place seemed like a good spot nearby! The Food: Went with the Sanchome Ramen for my meal. They had a pick two option, so my meal came with a side of Gyudon. The broth was very flavorful and rich. The ramen was cooked very nicely and portions were just right. The only gripe I have from my bowl was that the pork chashu was a little more tough than I'd like. I was hoping for the melt in your mouth texture, but that wasn't it al all. Other than that, everything else about the bowl was good. The Service: Service is FCFS I believe. There are screens at each table and you pretty much order off of that. They are fairly fast with getting meals out too, so i had no complaints at all here. They also don't accept tip, so what you get is what you pay for. The Atmosphere: Plenty of seating available. The restaurant is nice and clean as well. Overall, a 4/5. Definitely recommend giving this spot a try. I'll be back again for sure.
There are several new ramen spots in Centreville and we decided to give this one a try. We went for lunch on a Sunday and the restaurant was pretty packed. Order from an iPad and though the prices seem high, tip is included. The staff is very pleasant though the ramen was not our favorite. We were one of the the first several tables before the rush began, but it still took almost 25 minutes for our ramen to deliver. The flavor is okay though nothing out of this world. The noodles are average to us - we like our noodles cooked more firm and these just texture wise end up more soggy. Still a decent option to have in this immediate area, without venturing closer to DC.
In return for the spirit of Japanese hospitality, we emptied our bowls of delicious ramen. The concept of no tipping works well with the interactive iPad display at the table to order along with wait staff available to answer quick questions. I ordered the pick two option with a classic Sanchome ramen and the gyudon rice option. Richer and less oily broth stood out to me with fresh, thinner ramen noodles; spicy pickled side dish. Tried the Kara Kara ramen which definitely had a spicier broth with the spicier buta pork. Luckily, I didn't order it as I would have had to down a few beers and not drinking that much right now. Although, I noticed they had premium Japanese beers such as Orion. Tables were on small side especially with a display attached to the table. Clean and warm wooden styled decor provided a good ambiance with music that's not too loud. Place was consistently packed through the night with not too many people waiting as the operation seemed pretty efficient. Liked that no one came to your table to ask if you wanted anything else so you don't feel rushed to leave especially if you're not ordering more food or drinks later. When you're ready to pay, you just go to the counter by the ramen bar to pay. Will have to sit at the ramen bar next time as watching chefs make ramen always adds to the vibe and anticipation of a umami bowl of ramen especially on a cold, rainy night.

Each table has a tablet where you can pick orders and someone will bring the orders to your table. We ordered gyoza and karaage for appetizers. The gyoza was delicious but the karaage tasted off - it wasn't crispy like the chicken karaage I'm used to ordering. I ordered Sanchome Ramen and my date ordered a Veggie Ramen and Gyudon combo. I wish I knew that Sanchome Ramen is a little spicy because I could have ordered something else. The broth was good but I really wasn't expecting that it would be spicy. I wish I read the menu more closely. The rice and ramen combo was good too but it wasn't anything fantastic. Regarding the price, each ramen bowl is priced slightly more expensive than the regular ramen because it covers the tip. The place was okay - the staff was helpful. I wish I had a better experience.
I was craving some authentic Japanese ramen after my recent trip to Japan and this place seemed to meet some of those details I was looking for! I believe this restaurant opened recently, less than 6 months ago. This place is FCFS only and can run out of specific ramen depending on the night. There's ample seating in this place, along with some bar seats as well. We walked in around 7 on a Saturday night and were lucky enough to score the last open table! I opted for their Sanchome ramen in their pork tonkotsu broth - comes with all the traditional fixings along with a seasoned egg. I would give the ramen field a 8.5/10. The flavor was good, but not as rich as I would have liked it to be. The seasoned egg was very tasty though and the chashu was also good. Their surprise of the night to me was their side order of pork belly and rice - this was packed with flavor and very juicy - almost wanted a little bit more rice to balance the richness of the pork. Service was friendly and food came out in a timely manner. I would come back again to their other ramen options. Their pricing seemed pretty fair, esp with the type or cuisine they were serving. SN: there's no tipping here! Yay!
Delicious new Japanese ramen place in NOVA! I accidentally found this place and I am so glad I did! Each table has a tablet so you can place an order as soon as you are ready which was really convenient. Chicken karaage - 5/5 It came out piping hot and the chicken was juicy. Sanchome ramen - 5/5 Tonkatsu shoyu ramen - 5/5 You can tell the noodle and broth are made from scratch. The service was great as well. I am honestly surprised more people don't know about this place because everything was fantastic. I'll definitely be back to try more dishes! read more

At my first visit, it wasn't too crowded and we were seated quickly at a table. It's easy to order from the tablet affixed to each table; the ambience was quiet, clean and modern. For the food, we got: - charsui ramen - pick 2 (ramen & Kakuni over rice) - karaage chicken - edamame Food was hot, tasty and generously portioned. The second time we visited, it was very crowded so we were seated at the bar. Personally, I think I should've waited for a table, but there's nothing wrong with the bar if it doesn't bother you. We got pretty much the same thing our 2nd time and the food was very delicious! The karaage chicken is piping hot and comes with a nice orange dipping sauce. In my opinion, the menu could have a few more choices, but if you're okay with ramen and rice dishes, this is a perfect place to have a nice meal. read more

The ramen here is a worthy homage to ramen in Japan, delicious and authentically flavored. I also really enjoyed how they had tablets at each table for ordering and payment and the fact that tips are not expected. Would 100% recommend checking this place out! read more

I was so excited to try a new japanese ramen in Centreville! Plenty of seating and a warm, cozy atmosphere inside. Tablets to order on every table. Food: Sanchome ramen- had to try their classic. The meat inside has some seasoning that actually has quite a kick to it, so beware if you have a low spice tolerance 7.5/10 Tonkatsu ramen- good hearty broth, but nothing to write home about 7/10 I will say the amount is plentiful, so I would say it's worth a visit. But I wouldn't say it's my new favorite or go-to spot. read more

We tried this place recently after they opened since we were curious about the new restaurant and we LOVE ramen. Very nice inside and clean. The service is straightforward with an iPad at each table and food brought out, with no tipping. They have a good sized menu and combos you can also order so you can have ramen and rice. We tried the combo and also just the ramen on the two times we've been here. The ramen is delicious but beware, the spicy is very spicy! My husband got a run for his money with the flavor and spice. We have found a new favorite here! read more

An introverts dream honestly. The place is very aesthetically pleasing, plenty of seats, and the wait time was minimal for the food to come out. As an introvert, i appreciated how minimal interaction was needed. They motion where to sit, you order through a tablet at the table, then go up to pay when you're ready. The ramen was delicious, well worth the price in my opinion. There are pictures for each item. You can easily exclude the garnishes if you dont like them. I have no complaints, definitely will be back to try the other dishes! read more

First time seeing a no tipping restaurant in nova! A casual restaurant where you seat yourself and and order via the tablet on the table! Checked out this new ramen spot in town during a girls' night out, and it was such a fun find. We arrived around 5:30pm, and although it wasn't busy at first, the place filled up quickly while we were eating -- always a good sign! :) I wasn't a huge fan of the chicken karaage, but everything else was good. I especially loved that they offer a set menu for people like me who want to try a little bit of everything. The ramen was great, very flavorful, but the noodles were the real standout--thin, springy, and cooked just right. I am very picky when it comes to noodles in ramen, and these were genuinely good. They had the perfect texture and held up well in the broth. Ordering is all done through a tablet, which made the whole process super easy and convenient. read more
Ordering food through via tablets was easy. Our screen was a little greasy, so I wish they wiped our screen before we sat down. You pay at the counter at the end of your meal. I really enjoyed the noodles! Not many ramen places make this sort of straight noodles and they are my favorite! They are also made in house. I bought the both to be really rich and flavorful. I don't think I have a low spice tolerance, but the Kara Kara Ramen took me out. My partner said I was red and sweating. It was really good, but I will just stick to the non-spicy ramens next time. Just a heads up, while there is no tipping here, their prices are $2-3 higher than other ramen spots. I hope this business stays! Because I do like their ramen the most in Centreville. read more
Found this place through instagram. They have a no tip policy since tip is already accounted in the meal price and you order everything through the kiosk. Once you are done eating, you pay at the checkout table. As for the ramen...it was ok. I got the shoyu ramen and it could have used more flavor. I felt like it didnt have enough savory flavor but I did like the noodle texture. Im glad I tried this place out! read more
Walking in, you can smell the pork being torched and it made my mouth immediately start watering. We were able to get seated right away for a 6pm weekday dinner for two. The iPad makes ordering quick & easy, especially because there are photos of every item. There's also service buttons to easily hail a waitress or request water or additional utensils, making the experience very seamless for soft spoken customers or during busy times. When the iPad isn't actively in use, it goes into a slideshow that explains history of ramen, the store, that they make their soup and noodles fresh in house daily, and that tipping is not accepted (so I am assuming it's built in and staff wages are paid separately). The atmosphere is cozy. The restaurant is lively but not loud. I ordered the "Pick 2" option where you can pick a full size ramen bowl with a small rice bowl of your choice for only $5 more. This is THE ramen shop for tonkotsu ramen. The soup is thick and so rich! You can taste the umami of the roasted garlic used to make the soup. I drank every drop! The noodles were al dente but enjoyable to eat. The tonkotsu also came with a perfect soy sauce lava egg, a swirl fish cake slice, and pieces of nori. The iPad ordering made it easy to opt out ingredients I didn't want, like bean sprouts, but my dish was missing the bamboo & corn although I didn't opt out of those. The charsu pork was the best part, with a melt in your mouth, torched flavour. The togarashi radish side dish is tasty but we quite spicy! The buta rice dish was very spicy! Proportions were good so we were full but not exploding. My husband got the sanchome ramen which is a spicy tonkotsu and he enjoyed the spice level, however his bowl was also missing bamboo and corn shown in the menu picture. Easily the best ramen in NOVA, but with each bowl at nearly $20, even without having to pay tip it is $45 for 2 people. That 10% Fairfax county restaurant tax is a killer... and for ramen, even though it was amazing, is more of a one-time meal than a place we will frequent because of the high price. had a pretty disappointing experience at Sanchome. The prices are high even though tipping isn't required, which already sets expectations higher. Unfortunately, the food didn't deliver. I ordered ramen, buta don, and gyoza, and none of them were tasty or memorable. The flavors didn't feel authentic, and overall it didn't taste like real Japanese food. It honestly felt more like a Korean-style version of Japanese dishes. I wouldn't recommend it, especially for the price. read more

New store and it's actually very popular! I came on Friday around like 7 and we had to put our name on a waitlist for about 30 minutes. They should add texting since when you join the waitlist it's just the worker putting your name on her paper clipboard and she'll come to the front of the store to call your name so you can't go that far. The restaurant itself it's quite large and looks pretty clean and modern! You order on the tablet even at the bar seating which I like Sanchome ramen - broth is flavorful and noodles are a great texture! They pick up a lot of flavor too. This feels a bit heavy but flavorful! The pork is too fatty but cooked well. Egg is cooked great and marinated 3/5 Kara Kara ramen - almost the same as Sanchome but much more spicy! TL;DR: 4.2-4.5/5 stars; SOFT OPENING- Solid food, great service, and cute vibes So happy this place opened up near us! It was a rainy day, so we were craving some soup. This place was in their soft opening, so we decided to give it a try. VIBE: ~The interior is simply decorated but so cute. There are many tables, as well as a ramen bar seating. ~Each section has a tablet where you can order from and the servers bring the food to you. Then you pay at the end at the front. ~~Tablet allows you to order specific items/quantities too (plates, cutlery, napkins, water). Very useful! SERVICE: ~Service was great. So nice, attentive, and quick to help out. ~They promote no tipping! Truly embracing the Japanese culture of high standards for their food and service but not accepting tips - though the service definitely deserved it FOOD: ~Gyoza (4/5): got exactly what I expected. It was fried nicely, and the filling was meaty and well seasoned. Nothing out of this world though. ~Sanchome Ramen (4.5/5): Their signature ramen broth with buta pork (spicy sauced pork). The original broth was very flavorful and umami. The buta pork added a nice kick. ~~Comes with thin ramen noodles that (I think?) are made in house. Usually, I am not a fan of thin ramen noodles because they tend to have a slippery texture, but these were really good. Nice chew too ~~Chashu was solid. Very soft, flavorful, and smoky ~~Personal preference: the broth to noodle ratio was a little off (too many noodles), but you can always order extra broth if you want ~~The egg was so good. ~Buta donburi (mini; 3.9/5): tasted like a Japanese version of jaeyuk bokkeum (korean spicy marinated pork). It was very flavorful and had a nice kick. The pork portion was a little small compared to the rice, but it was still good. ~Tsukemen (4.5/5 - READ): So this dish was tasty, but it was more of a deconstructed ramen. ~~The broth was a pork based (I have only ever had bonito based), and the broth was tasty, but not thick enough for it to cling to the noodles well ~~The noodles came underneath all the additional toppings, which made it hard to eat. Ended up putting the noodles in a separate bowl ~~The noodles for this were a thicker style, and I loved it. But they stuck together a lot. Overall, this place was very solid! The bottom line is that your experience here will vary. I have many friends who tell me their experience of the ramen here wasn't good. The first time I came, they had a sign-up saying they ran out of ramen and were closed for the weekend. I did enjoy the ramen when I finally made it back here. The texture of the ramen was good. The broth, however, was way too rich for me to be able to finish. I ordered extra chilli and dumped it all in it. Only then was it bearable. The store decoration was okay. The lanterns speak Japanese for sure. The ordering was by a tablet, so there's not a lot of chance to interact with the staff. read more

I finally got to go and see what the hype is all about. The hype is legit, and honestly probably needed to turn it up a few notches. At 1 pm on a weekday, you are still escorted to your table. Ordering is done at the table with a tablet, so one can take their time picking out what they want. I got the Sanchome ramen. The noodles were so fresh and the broth was perfect! I mean you can see them making the noodles from your table, so you know it's fresh. I can never finish ramen broth, but finished this one. It was so tasty but not salty, and you still get the bits and pieces of the noodles, eggs, and meat at the bottom of the bowl. read more
Delicious! Really enjoyed the customization options, the broth was flavorful, the noodles were thin and great consistency. We go there early enough that we didn't have to wait but there was definitely a wait by the time we left. It is a 'no tipping' restaurant and they abide by that. Pretty solid ramen for NOVA. The noodles are thin and the broth is light. It is slightly expensive (around $20 a bowl), but there's no tipping! I ordered a ramen and a rice bowl combo for $25 and it was enough for two small people. read more

The staff were so friendly and kind to us! The food was delicious - definitely coming back next time i crave ramen. Also the fried tofu was the BEST tofu i've ever had in my life. My fiancé tried it and he hated tofu but also said it was amazing read more
The gyudon was pretty tasty with the beef, onions, sauce, and rice! It came with a side of salad and soup as well. The salad was just your average shredded cabbage and dressing. I will say the pork soup was so awful... it tasted very watery with no flavor and had some strange taste to it. There was also a thin film that formed on top that I had to pick off. They didn't have any gluten free items available so my friend could only order edamame and rice. The workers were friendly but they never checked on us once while eating. It's a no tipping establishment but the high prices pretty much make up for it. The place was spacious and seemed clean. I don't think I'll come back even to try the ramen. There are definitely better Japanese places in the area. read more
I was excited to check out one of the newest dining establishments in my neighborhood though will not be returning due to the quality of food. For the appetizer, the chicken karaage came out cold and had too much breading. The broth lacked flavor and the noodles that Sanchome Ramen advertises as being made in-house tasted similar to what you may describe as paper. The food appears to look good though was disappointed that perhaps we had dined in on an "off" night. read more
