This place is my favorite ramen spot in the area! The quality of both the soup broth and noodles is very impressive and authentic. The quantity could be small for some people though. Even I was able to finish it and still had room for dessert. Usually this place is not that busy but parking can be hectic. It is located right next to super busy Trader Joe's and some cute cafe. But I was surprised to find their ramen very flavorful, the tofu was soft tofu coated with some batter and deep fried, which I really liked as it was different from the usual fried tofu. We also tried their fried rice which was okayish, not a lot of vegetables in there. And the portion size was really small. For $14 I would expect it to be entree size but it was just a side dish. Stopped here on our way to Centreville to a card shop while on the convention circuit in the DMV area. We have been to several ramen places in DC, and traveling down to a card shop in this neck of the woods - we stopped here. Interior and decor was very cool - from the wooden booths to decorations on the walls, and the cherry blossom trees on the middle of the space. We ordered drinks as well as some bao and takyoki for the table. Interesting note was how they serve the canned soda - in these stainless steel cups which reminded me of how they serve milkshakes at diners with presenting the excess milkshake in the cup they blend it. Anyway - bao was GREAT - pork wasn't tough or chewy which can happen very often in these places. For my entree I ordered the tonkotsu Moso ramen, adding an egg and garlic. We shop at the Trader Joe's next door all the time and didn't think of eating at this ramen place next door. We wanted to try a new place and were craving noodles so this was the spot. The interior was pretty. I would have never expected that it would be so pretty inside from the looks of the exterior. The service was really good. The servings were generous. My husband and my kids thoroughly enjoyed their tonkatsu ramen. We added 2x extra noodles and the serving was huge and enough for my husband and our two little ones. My son enjoyed the rich broth and kept asking for more. They also enjoyed the shrimp tempura appetizer. I had the spicy miso ramen and it was flavorful and spicy. The parking lot is huge and shared with multiple retailers, including Trader Joes so it was a pretty packed parking lot on a Saturday. We did not make reservations ahead of time, but were still seated immediately upon arrival. The inside of the restaurant is decorated beautifully with Japanese styled decor and a large faux cherry blossom tree. We ordered the following: - Edamame - You really can't mess up this appetizer, it was a decent amount for $5. - Isobe - This dish has deep fried fish cakes with house made mayo sauce. It wasn't amazing and it wasn't terrible, I probably wouldn't order this again because it wasn't too flavorful. You mostly taste the dough, not the fish cake. - Chicken Karaage Don - This comes with fried chicken with spicy mayo eel sauce with green onions and pickled radishes served over rice. The chicken was perfectly cooked to a nice crisp. The green onions lumped on top tasted great with each bite of chicken and rice. The sauce was good, drizzled on somewhat heavily... so I'd suggest scooping some to the side so that the chicken does not get soggy. - Shrimp Katsu Don - This comes with panko coated fried shrimp, sweet seaweed salad, pickled radishes with teriyaki sauce served over rice. The shrimp was fried to perfection and tasted great with the teriyaki sauce. The sweet seaweed salad was good, but I think the green onions would have tasted better with this dish. - Mango Snow - This smoothie was very refreshing and the perfect end to my meal. Overall, the staff were friendly and attentive checking on us throughout our meal to see if we needed anything else. We came around 5pm so it was not super packed inside. If I could give this place a 0 star I would. I could not make this up right now. I ordered a tea in 28 degree weather and paid for my tea, then sat down. The man at the bar, then yelled at the old man who took my order and that man then came to me to tell me to basically leave because it's "dine in only" I then said "I can't order and drink a tea here?" I had to get up out of my seat to ask for the bill and went to the front to pay. There was an old man collecting payment that certainly did not speak English with an outstretched hand for my card, because when I asked to see my bill, the guy looked at me like I had two heads. Then he called over another male in his language to the front and this one gave me a strange look asking what I needed. amazing experience! i've had my fair share of ramen in the nova area, but had yet to try ramen from centreville. i tried araki ramen for the first time as recommended by a friend, and it definitely went beyond my expectations. when you walk in, you're greeted by a gorgeous interior with lots of seating. the lighting is dim and cozy, definitely perfect for date nights or night outings with friends. they have a bar towards the back as well with a wide range of options for drinks. as for the food, it's possibly the best ramen i've ever had. the tonkotsu classic was so rich in flavor. as for the tonkotsu miso, we ordered the spicy and no spicy option. both were the perfect amount of miso and just as rich. the spicy level was perfect without it being overbearing. the seasoned egg was jammy and a little runny, but so delicious! when my party arrived, we were seated really quick. they brought out our food really fast. the only thing is that when it was time to pay our bill, we had to approach who i'm assuming was the owner of the restaurant. so when you come, if they're taking a while with the check just remember you might have to ask for it yourself! other than that, it was an amazing experience. read more

The food selection is what you'd expect, so my initial order was pretty basic. I got tonkotsu miso ramen and ordered three appetizers - chicken karaage, takoyaki, and veggie croquette. The service was great and prompt; our server was quick to get our drink order and quick to follow up to take our appetizer and main orders without being impatient. The food came out exactly as expected. Regarding taste, it was very typical of what I'd expect of Japanese/Japanese-style food in the DMV. At least in my bowl, there were more noodles than expected, which I liked so I could finish off more of the broth more easily and the overall portion of the ramen and appetizers was consistent with the area and the prices for the most part. Overall, it's a nice spot to check out in Centreville. They have a bubble tea menu I didn't order from only because I'd ordered so much food but would love to try next time. I am also curious about their other ramen and curry selections and would want to try other appetizers next time, like shrimp tempura, squid salad, and seaweed salad. Came here on a Sunday Funday and lets just say it was a good time had by all!! The interior is cute and well thought out from the artwork, to the murals to the table set up, you can tell a lot of creativity went into the interior design. It is only right t get sushi and ramen, right?? Right!!!! So no one had to decide between one or the other we had a some of everything. For sushi we had the Punk Beach, Hottie Tottie, Alaskan Sunset and the Araki Forever!! All of the rolls were made to order and had the freshest ingredients. Perfectly placed on the plates they almost looked too good to eat but you know that feeling only lasts so long!! My fav was the Alaskan Sunset which had crab, avocado, masago, topped with seared salmon and a spicy sauce, pure amazingness!!! We had one of each ramen which included the Spicy Miso Ramen which was definitely spicy, Tonkotus Classic Ramen and Miso Ramen, the Chicken Miso Ramen, Chicken Shoyu Ramen and lastly the Veggie Ramen. All the broths had a good flavor and the noodles were cooked perfectly. If you are lookign for something other than ramen and sushi, here are a few suggestions. If you are feeling adventerous you can get the Octopus balls (Takoyaki) which were interesting. Definitely chewy and memorable to say the least. The Japanese Pancake (Okonomiyaki) is as entertaining as it is tasty as if you look close enough you can see the toppings moving. The fried fish cakes (Isobe) are another option for the fish lover. Make sure you dip them in the house made mayo that comes with them. The Corn Cheese was interesting!! If you do order this eat it immediately so you can get the true essence of the dish. The Stir Fried Bean Sprouts are a tasty and are a filling option. I think the underdog here is the Araki Signature Chicken!!!! These wings were amazing!! A nice coat of breading and full of chicken, they are a sure thing, Two flavors to chose from but the Spicy Soy sauce ones were my favorite. I've visited for lunch and dinner recently and was impressed with I have tried so far! For lunch, they have a bento box menu which is worth your money especially if you're really starving. I had the donkatsu bento and was really happy with it! For dinner, I had their tonkotsu ramen and was happy that they use the right type of noodles for it but I recommend ordering extra chashu. The Alaskan Roll wasn't bad too. In terms of service, it really depends on who the server is, but Jin was really great and helpful with navigating their menu.
