The grounds were fine, but the incident…read morethat occurred at Juniper Campground in Ririe, Idaho, on the evening of Saturday, September 13, 2025 left a very bitter taste in our mouths about the trip. What was intended to be a joyful family outing turned into a distressing experience due to the conduct of the camp host. My father-in-law and his wife had made a reservation at Juniper Campground for the weekend and invited my family to join them--myself, my two sons, and our grandchildren. We were all excited to spend quality time together and to try out our newly purchased travel trailers. As first-time trailer owners, this was meant to be a fun and educational experience before the camping season ended. Unfortunately, I had previously purchased concert tickets for an event at Mountain America Center in Idaho Falls scheduled for Saturday evening. My sons and I decided to briefly leave the campground to attend the concert and return afterward. We left in the early evening and returned around 10:20 PM. Upon arrival, we found the second entry gate--through which we had originally entered--locked with a padlock. We then drove to the first gate, which had rising arms and red LED lights, but it did not respond. I exited the vehicle to search for an intercom or manual override, but found none. While attempting to look up a contact number, a white truck with an orange cone in the back approached rapidly. The driver, who identified himself as the camp host, immediately confronted me in an aggressive and profane manner. He shouted, "What the hell are you doing at my gate?" I calmly explained that we were campers returning from a concert and were trying to re-enter the campground. He responded with hostility, saying, "The gates are locked at 10 PM. Didn't you read the rules?" I replied that we had not received any rules, as my 78-year-old father-in-law had checked in first and inadvertently failed to pass them along while we were focused on setting up our trailers. The host continued to berate me, accusing me of lying and using profanity such as "Bullsh*t, everybody receives the rules." When asked for our campsite number, I was momentarily unsure, as my father-in-law had directed us to our spot upon arrival. While I searched for the information, the host continued to question our motives, saying, "Why are you leaving and returning to the campsite this time of night?" I explained our concert plans, only to be met with further disbelief and ridicule. He mocked my Van Halen t-shirt and claimed, "Nobody goes camping to leave for a concert," and "Those bands sucked. The last time I saw Van Halen was in 1979." At this point, I attempted to clarify our situation, but the host warned me that if I raised my voice, he would not allow us back into the campground. After locating a screenshot of our reservation details, I showed it to him. He finally allowed us entry and handed me a printed copy of the rules, stating, "Next time, read the rules." This interaction left me feeling humiliated, belittled, and treated as though I were a criminal. The camp host's behavior was not only unprofessional but bordered on harassment. I understand the importance of rules and quiet hours, but they should be enforced with courtesy and respect--not hostility and profanity. I am deeply disappointed by this experience and will not be returning to Juniper Campground. I'm leaving this review to ensure others are aware of the treatment we received. Guests deserve to feel safe and welcomed--not intimidated or verbally abused.

Due to the fact that someone was there "first" we were without 50amp power for 5 nights with temps in the high 90's-100. We had reserved and paid for a 50amp spot. When the "buddy" left we plugged into the 50amp plug, but then another "buddy" pulled in!! Well, we had our RV plugged into the 50 amp and our new neighbor was NOT happy. He actually threatened to unplug us! The front desk and maintenance personnel were very friendly and nice. After complaining about paying for 50amps and not getting it, I was reimbursed $10 a night for the five nights we didn't have the 50amps. The laundry and bathrooms were clean. The location was perfect for our itinerary for the area. I wouldn't recommend this place based on our experience with the electricity as stated above and the daily outages of power. I don't understand why they would keep putting people in the "buddy" spot knowing they can't provide the electricity for it, just seems they are asking for bad reviews and unsatisfied customers.

We bare had 6' between us and our neighbors with very little space outside to enjoy. It was like having someone in your site all day. After 10 it did go pretty quiet, so kudos for enforcing quiet hours. Outside of that, because of the proximity to each other, it was a madhouse. That was probably mainly because neighbors had little respect for others. I also, noticed the electric service had reversed polarity at our site. I must say it was a full weekend. Every site was filled. I would come off season where your not subject to sardine stacking. The surrounding area is nice. I would recommend Aspen Grove across the road. Very nice!

In addition to having a private RV site amongst a bunch of gorgeous aspen trees, Casey was great in terms of making sure we approved of our RV site & that we took the most scenic route to Yellowstone. Also, since the park is in a very rural area known as Squirrel Ashton, the night sky is crowded with stars & there's absolutely no traffic noise. We are not golfers or drinkers, but if you are, the executive golf course & bar are undoubtedly a good time, especially when they have live music venues. If you are in the area, this RV Park is distinctly extraordinary, in a good way!

STAY AWAY! Horrible Management and Refund Scam…read more I stayed at this property on July 10th. We originally booked a two-bedroom stay, but since my parents could not make it, we canceled one room. At check-in, the front desk employee explicitly promised us a refund of $228 within 10 days. Twelve days later, no refund appeared. I called the hotel, and the same front desk worker claimed the refund was processed and told me to check with my bank. My bank confirmed absolutely no deposit or pending refund was ever made. When I called the hotel back again, the manager (who claimed to also be the owner) finally called me today. He was incredibly rude, hostile, and screamed at me. He claimed my case was "weird" because it was a third-party booking and that they hadn't received the money--even though I paid directly at the front desk and have the bank statement proving they charged me! When I told him the front desk employee promised the refund, the manager said they let that employee go because he "lied to customers." When I asked for a straight answer on whether they would honor the refund instead of wasting my time and making me chase my bank, the manager literally screamed at me, told me not to call him a liar, declared he would NOT give me my refund, and insultingly told me that I "should speak English better." This place has horrible, abusive management. It is absolutely not a 5-star hotel, and it is a complete rip-off to pay $572 for one room just to be treated with racism and hostility. Do not stay here!

I asked if they had any ev charging stations in the area. He told me he didn't have any idea but he would look if we had a minute. About 30 seconds later he said he found info that showed there were some behind a pizza place in town. Jesse said he had never seen them but it showed they were there. We asked about restaurants and he said the chargers were right behind his 2nd favorite place to eat (Five 11 Main Pizzeria and Soda Fountain). I asked what his first choice would be and he said Big Juds, right next door. We arrived earlier than we expected and a different gentleman named Scott greeted us and allowed us to check in early and was also as nice as he could be! We told him it was a rest day/down day and he said if you want a cool drive you may want to consider a drive to Mesa Falls. It was awesome and so were both restaurants that we were told about! Our hotel room was great! It was a large, clean room with a very comfortable bed and incredible shower/water pressure! It was perhaps the best pressure we have ever had at any hotel - it was that good!!! We will definitely be back to the hotel if we are in the area again!!! We stopped there before going to the Grand Tetons. Also, the price of the hotel was less than 1/4 of the cost of hotels inside the park!!! Scott and Jesse were amazing, the hotel was clean and neatly decorated, the price was great, and we couldn't have been happier! Go see them the next time you're in Ashton, ID.

My family and I LOVE coming here!…read more It's so beautiful, and the woman who runs this place is very sweet. They're also dog friendly, so the fact that we're able to bring our dog with us on our family vacations is a plus:) We rented a lodge and a cabin, and I would highly recommend them both... especially the lodge. It very spacious and has everything that you could possibly want in a living space. I only have 2 issues. 1) The front door (at the lodge) is broken, so even the smallest shut will cause the door to slam very loudly. 2) The fact that there's a maintaince man staying in the basement kind of makes me feel uneasy. All in all, I would definitely stay here again & again!

According to the sign for Harriman Wildlife Refuge, "Henry's Fork meanders through a 16,000 acre wildlife refuge that retains diverse habitats for many kinds of birds and animals. Lodgepole pine forests and open meadows provide many opportunities to enjoy wildlife here and fly fishing still is allowed in this region of scenic beauty."

We were in Red Rock RV park, so this was only about a half an hour drive from there. Super quiet, there is a part of the road that is very rocky and bumpy, so bring your jeep, lol.
