I will admit, this park was one of the nicer parks in the area, they actually have trees, grass, and a nice surrounding. Why the bad review? The management is terrible, the RV spots are ridiculous, and the ride out to the big dunes is the farthest of any of the RV parks.
Management, we weren't their stereotypical customer so they decided we were "irritating" and made us feel unwelcome from day 1. They sold us a spot that was 15' wide, and 70' long for our rig that they were told was 75' long, and 8' wide (without the awning out) at time of reservations. What does this mean? It means we couldn't open our awning, it meant that we had 2 trailers backed 6 feet from where we were supposed to be able to bask under our awning and BBQ as we often do when camping. It also meant that our brand spanking new $70k truck was parked on their grass, which they often times watered for 16 hours straight. When we complained about the spot they told us they were sorry, that the spots weren't actually owned by the park but that there were 60+ owners and there was nothing they could do except for move us to another spot until the next reservation arrived and then we would need to relocate back to our original spot. They took no ownership of responsibility that we were upset with their park, and they provided no means of relieving our concerns. Often times throughout our stay they, very condescendingly, mentioned the park rules that disallowed whatever it was we were doing to irritate them and took that moment to remind us we could be kicked out for continuing whatever rule breaking activity we were doing. I get it, we weren't following all the rules, but the way they proceeded with informing us we were breaking their rules was ridiculous. We are regular people, just talk to us like regular people, dont treat us like we are idiots, and often times, the odds were good we didn't realize we were breaking the rules.
The RV spots, good god, they are all about 18' wide, pull in, and expect sewer hoses and RV pop outs to be in your space everywhere. There is no room to relax, no room to BBQ. Dont expect to be outside at your RV spot relaxing at this park, theres no room for it.
Ride out to the dunes, its approximately a 30 minute ride to the big dunes, and 1/4 tank each way for us. Plan an entire tank of fuel daily, unless you don't mind the smaller dunes surrounding the park.
I'm highly disappointing in this park, and will never be back. And, to be even more frank, we drove 775 miles for this week long vacation and it was hell, their actions ruined my once annual vacation. The moment the issues began on day 1 we should have packed up and left the park, I would have rather dry camped alongside the road then been subject to their scrutiny and rude attitudes. read more
