Review is based solely on the RV PARK Alright guys if you are reading this is because you are on your way to Yellowstone and need a safe place to stay that's only 1 hour away to the West entrance. Well don't get discouraged from the other post. Some are really old post and some are based on misguided information. Trust me, I live and rely on Yelp reviews so I was kinda hesitant to stay here but I gave it a try. How bad can it be!? But first let's address some of the reviews. Someone said they couldn't find it? I mean cmon there is a huge sign and entrance directing RV people to their RV spaces (and yes we arrived at night and found it). Took us about 2 seconds before we figured that one out. :) Now let's address some other stuff, customer service!? Well we had a great experience. It was as simple as calling in, reserving a spot and enjoying our travels. Now let's talk about the RV spaces itself. They were so many options to choose from, all provided with hookups , level spots and some great views. I really hate when people leave bad reviews on places that don't deserve it. STAY AWAY! Horrible Management and Refund Scam I stayed at this property on July 10th. We originally booked a two-bedroom stay, but since my parents could not make it, we canceled one room. At check-in, the front desk employee explicitly promised us a refund of $228 within 10 days. Twelve days later, no refund appeared. I called the hotel, and the same front desk worker claimed the refund was processed and told me to check with my bank. My bank confirmed absolutely no deposit or pending refund was ever made. When I called the hotel back again, the manager (who claimed to also be the owner) finally called me today. He was incredibly rude, hostile, and screamed at me. He claimed my case was "weird" because it was a third-party booking and that they hadn't received the money--even though I paid directly at the front desk and have the bank statement proving they charged me! When I told him the front desk employee promised the refund, the manager said they let that employee go because he "lied to customers." When I asked for a straight answer on whether they would honor the refund instead of wasting my time and making me chase my bank, the manager literally screamed at me, told me not to call him a liar, declared he would NOT give me my refund, and insultingly told me that I "should speak English better." This place has horrible, abusive management. It is absolutely not a 5-star hotel, and it is a complete rip-off to pay $572 for one room just to be treated with racism and hostility. My wife and I just stayed at the Eagle Peak Lodge and it was terrific! We called the day before to see if they had rooms available and talked with Jesse. He was so helpful and kind. I asked if they had any ev charging stations in the area. He told me he didn't have any idea but he would look if we had a minute. About 30 seconds later he said he found info that showed there were some behind a pizza place in town. Jesse said he had never seen them but it showed they were there. We asked about restaurants and he said the chargers were right behind his 2nd favorite place to eat (Five 11 Main Pizzeria and Soda Fountain). I asked what his first choice would be and he said Big Juds, right next door. We arrived earlier than we expected and a different gentleman named Scott greeted us and allowed us to check in early and was also as nice as he could be! We told him it was a rest day/down day and he said if you want a cool drive you may want to consider a drive to Mesa Falls. It was awesome and so were both restaurants that we were told about! Our hotel room was great! It was a large, clean room with a very comfortable bed and incredible shower/water pressure! It was perhaps the best pressure we have ever had at any hotel - it was that good!!! We will definitely be back to the hotel if we are in the area again!!! We stopped there before going to the Grand Tetons. Also, the price of the hotel was less than 1/4 of the cost of hotels inside the park!!! Scott and Jesse were amazing, the hotel was clean and neatly decorated, the price was great, and we couldn't have been happier! Go see them the next time you're in Ashton, ID. read more

I definitely recommend Egale Peak Lodge & RV Park!! I stayed in the lodge for five nights while visiting Yellowstone and the surrounding area. Matt and his staff couldn't have been more nice and helpful. Matt went out of his way to give us directions to area attractions that we normally would have not known about. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The front lobby was a cozy place to relax after a long day of sightseeing. I definitely recommend Egale Peak Lodge for any size group. read more

Large, clean room. Things I like: no carpet so one knows the floors are actually clean, soft fluffy towels not the scratchy hotel towels one usually gets. The fastest hotel check in ever, less than 3 minutes. I ask, are there rooms, he gives price, I hand over cash, he hands over key. It took me longer to park my car than check in. read more

DO NOT BOOK HERE! Customer is always wrong at Eagle Peak. (Long review, I know - but worth the read) Much better places for price and service nearby. What happened: We booked the RV spot around 7pm because we could not get a hold of anywhere else in the greater area including calling this place twice with no answer. It cost almost $60 for one night! So expensive!!! Once I booked it, there was no instructions, no site #, No anything. I did get an email receipt, but again, No information with that either. In all my time traveling all over this country has this happened. We drove down from W. Yellowstone and got to this place about 9pm so it was dark. This place is a 'Lodge' that has a beautiful view of the backside of a gas station and the tractor trailers that are parked behind it. Driving slowly by trying to figure out where we supposed to go, all we saw was a small sign with their eagle peak lodge logo on it, so we knew that was the lodge and we were in the right spot. It looked shut down. It was early in the season (April 30th) so a lot of places in this area weren't open yet. They took the booking online, so we thought it was going to be fine. Very poor lighting on the streets and at the 'Lodge' parking lot. We couldn't find the RV park. There was no other signage. Nothing. We had no idea where we were supposed to go or what to do. We drove past the place twice trying to figure it out. I was wondering if it was just a couple hook ups thrown up behind the 'Lodge' building in the parking lot but didn't see anything to that effect. So we went on down the road and found a place in Sugar City that was very accommodating and who actually answered their phone. I emailed the 'Lodge' and asked for a refund since we couldn't find the place to stay there. The owner/manager refused and said it is on their website that there is no refunds. What!?! Really?!? I never saw that or was warned of that when booking, so I went back and looked. Yup, it's there - at the very bottom. You can go through the whole booking process on a phone and never see the bottom of the screen. Not even a warning when you are about to finalize payment regarding the fact that it is non-refundable. Big oversight and bad design on their part. I explained all the legitimate reasons we should be an exception to their refund policy. They didn't give us instructions on the booking page. No instructions on the email confirmation. Not even a site #. No signage at all at the location telling us what to do and where to go. No warning of the bad refund policy unless you scroll all the way down to the 'fine print' policies bottom of the page when booking. In response, the owner/manager of this place actually BLAMED ME over and over again! Said I could have gotten out and come into the lobby of the lodge for more info and that I should have thoroughly read all of the website before booking! What? Go talk to your 'guest relations' person who didn't answer both phone calls in a Lodge that still looks shut down for the season in a poorly lit parking lot behind a gas station...? Ok, yeah, I should have assumed there was a live person there manning a desk at 9pm in the off season who would tell me where to go. Or they could give us that info in the email confirmation or just put up a sign!!!! Anyway, we went back and forth with the owner/manager and he is flat out refusing to refund our money. At this point it's about principle. He won't or can't see the customers point of view and would rather keep $58 than a customer. SAD. As a business owner myself twice over, I know what it is like. I was nice in my emails and gave him good ideas on how he can improve his business for himself and his customers. I hope he takes those and implement them. It's a poor worker who blames his tools and a poor owner/manager who blames his customers. Pass by this place and find one who values their customers and knows what 'customer service' is. They won't even answer their phones, which probably is an indication of how little they care about their guests. They'll text you back instead of calling. They lied about hotels.com policies, and once I informed them that the other hotels had fully rebutted their lies, they then admitted but basically told me to pound sand, they were keeping my $564 dollars, didn't give a damn if my leg was broken, and frankly hoped I suffered (and I DO NOT start off with customer service reps rudely as I have done that work most of my life). Backstory: I made a reservation on hotels.com and then broke my leg just days later. I cancelled all stays 3 DAYS after initial reservations were made. I contacted Hotels.com about a long itinerary of places I was staying and all but one agreed to cancel without penalty. You guessed it, this spot, which I honestly only chose because EVERYWHERE else was already booked. Yes, the no refund policy is in the terms and conditions--same as all other spots which all saw the facts and happily cancelled without any hassle. Another mitigating fact: I thought when I made my reservations that I had gotten insurance on all the hotels I had booked, but unfortunately it only stuck on the first hotel on the list (and bizarrely, that one allowed cancellation at any time... clearly I wasn't trying to skimp out). In any case, they've taken my money, won't refund, and overall act like a really low class establishment, which other reviewers on Expedia and hotels.com seem to confirm. Book at your own risk. And do not for a second think they will act like decent human beings. Other reviewers have mentioned that the ads are deceptive, amenities are lacking, and if you want to be treated as though you're a welcomed guest and not a sucker who was parted from their money without remorse (and with a really rude tone and manner, to boot), well, then maybe this isn't your spot. Just stayed at the Eagle Peak Lodge over Thanksgiving weekend. Newly renovated rooms with laminate wood floors, nice tiles in bathrooms, great new beds (pillow-top mattresses), flat-screen TVs. They seem to upgrade the hotel frequently to accommodate the most demanding guests. Family atmosphere with cozy lobby and breakfast area (free continental breakfast). Very clean rooms; friendly management which was also very helpful. Location is quiet and right on 20 toward Yellowstone. Check out breathtaking Mesa Falls nearby. They have also cabins and RV hookups available. The hotel offers free Wifi and it has a strong signal. It was so beautiful to have a light snow blanket when we woke up on Sunday morning. Also very good prices at a fraction of Yellowstone accommodations not too far away. Highly recommended! read more

Cheapest place in a 50-mile range. You get what you pay for. Poorly-run business. College kids work as room maids and even though clean on the inside and friendly staff if you can find any - literally, it looks terrible on the outside. The side door and front door are never locked. Anyone can enter and come knocking on your door. And there is never anyone at the front reception ever - it's sort of like staying at your relative's house but very uncaring. Looked as though there was going to be breakfast, but there is not even a pot of coffee made. There is a hand-written sign that says "no breakfast until further notice". Family-owned, apparently. There is also a sign that says "No Vacancy" at the front entrance but I only saw 3 other guests. Front lobby sofa is occupied by a staff who lounges looking through their phone if you find any staff. It's about the worst customer service I've seen in the hotel business. Sad. So then we went out looking for a breakfast restaurant. The only restaurant for breakfast was closed on Tuesday when we were there. Crummy. It's as though people have given up on this little town and are not putting any effort into keeping it alive. read more

This is actually not bad! The rooms were nice and clean. Even though there isn't a warm breakfast, you still have restaurants nearby.

Came in close to midnight last night...glad we got rooms..Staff was very friendly and made u feel like u were at home...if ur a late sleeper get room on north or west side because light comes in bright from east..not a problem for me because im an earlier riser. Would definitely stay again if we're ever on a trip again back this way from Texas thanks Eagle Peak Lodge for your hospitality. read more

I tried to call and make a reservation, no one ever answered the phone. I then stopped and went in, this was the strangest experience I have ever encountered at any hotel. I walked in, and on the front desk was a number to call, and it stated it was self check in. I called the number, and two men came down the hall and wanted to know what I wanted, LOL, a room obviously. The man helping me was rude, he stated they had rooms, but they only took cash. STRANGE. Again very , very rude. This hotel was barely occupied, I almost thought it was closed. For mid August in this area of Idaho, it should have been very busy. I walked out, explaining to the men very clearly my displeasure. AVOID THIS PLACE. I am reporting their business practices to the Idaho department of revenue. read more

We never got to stay here despite having a month long reservation, credit card payment accepted. When booking the room I wrote we had dogs and a booking number was sent to me attached to my email. LESS THAN 24 hours before our arrival the lodge called me and said they don't take pets and that they had JUST SEEN the email. When I commented what poor business practice this was, we were told that it was "poor business sense to have pet hair everywhere". We were given NO help in finding another place to stay aside from a greater than $300/nite hotel down from them. It's interesting that once you book a room with them you CANNOT cancel. However, they can cancel you at any time including LESS THAN 24 hours prior to arrival. We were already on the road there. So FORTUNATELY we didn't stay here and if I could give ZERO stars I would but i had to give one just so i could post this. read more

Hello, although I didn't stay at the Eagle's Peak lodge, I did have an interaction with a gentleman claiming to be the owner. It was such a uncomfortable encounter, I wrote down the name of the business so that I would be able to provide my experience to others who might want to visit this establishment. First, I've been in customer service for over 33 years. I treat other people the way I'd like to be treated. While on my trip I was walking my 15 lb poodle dog on a scrubby, un-mown area in between a road and a large parking lot which had no cars. It looked as if the business was permanently closed. A man in a red Ford F150 stopped in the middle of the roadway and stared at me. The dog was leashed and there was a puppy-pooper-bag in my hand. I was I was shocked, taken aback and a little worried for my safety, although it was the middle of the day. He said gruffly "Don't let that dog poop there!". I responded, "if he does, I will pick it up" (and showed him the bag in my hand while I smiled. To which he responded "don't let him poop there". He indicated that he owned the hotel and the adjacent storage facility and "there is a sign". I responded, that I didn't see the sign and I left. However, how difficult would it have been to say "pardon me Ma'am", we have had some problems with pets and so have requested that you not walk your dog in this area. " That would have shown normal human decency and I would have been happy to comply. Maybe he was having a bad day, but he didn't need to take it out on me. I drove back through the area about a week later, and there still wasn't a single car in the parking lot; this made me smile. Hotel was clean indoors but totally uninspiring in decor or exterior appeal. Room had no clock, no night light, horrible internet service and the TV package was really poor - unless you like infomercials and home shopping channels. Price was high for the experience and I would have given this place a lower rating but it's really the only choice there is in this small town. As a fly fisherman visiting the area If I were to visit again I'd probably head up the road north a bit and pay up for the more resort type accommodations available. read more
