You can bring a cooler with non alcoholic beverages into the main pool area and you can take whatever you want (booze included) in to the lazy river pool area. The water in the main pool is COLD - at least on our visit...but our high temps were also around 85 with intermittent rain. $10 per person to get your arm band that is good throughout your stay. I didn't love having to wear one and I think a card of some sort would be preferred but in the end it's not a big deal. The beach was not my thing. Very rough and murky during our time. Nice enough sand but we traveled to Alabama the last 2 years and beaches there are much better. This place is 20ish minutes past the Galveston sea wall area so know that and plan for it in regards to groceries and other needs. Keep in mind...you are renting from individuals...so anything you read about carpet, cleanliness, etc is a reflection of the owners. Our unit was great and our elevator worked great too.

i've been coming here for years and i've never had an experience like this ever. they didn't tell…read moreus about what to do when losing your cheat crappy wristband and expected us to pay 75 more dollars when the fell apart on the first day. then not once but four times did the power go out. first time they fixed it quick, but the other 3 times left everyone in there rooms without light and sweating. they had zero emergency to fix it and left everyone scared and extremely hot. we came to see many items in the room broken and unusable like our dishwasher, and found lamps and one of the beds broken. not to mention the beach smelt like an actual fart. the smell was rancid and had junk everywhere. i have came here many times and never have been this disappointed. i will not be coming back here.

A few examples: 1. The master shower leaked, not dripped. Wasting a lot of water. Maintenance man finally came but could not fix the leak. 2. Mold in shower was terrible. 3. Dead insects under beds and behind couches. 4. Some dishes dirty. 5. Walk way to beach was flooded. We had to go to the next house to use a properly built walkway. 6. Picket missing in upstairs deck. Very dangerous for small children. 7. Floor was marginally cleaned. 8. Listing showed 4 twin beds but actually had only two and two rollaways. Terrible mattresses throughout.

First, the positives: this is a beautiful campground with great amenities. The pool, hot tub, and lazy river are fantastic, and many of the staff members are friendly, helpful, and genuinely care about guests. Galveston itself offers so much to do--we especially loved spending time on The Strand and exploring the area. Unfortunately, the biggest issue is the management, which significantly impacts the overall experience. The park manager is unapproachable and runs the campground in a way that feels more focused on control and extra charges than guest satisfaction. Fees are added for things like early arrival, and communication often feels excessive and negative rather than helpful. While guests receive multiple daily texts about activities, we also received messages about things like dog waste in washing machines and stolen cleaning wipes--issues that could have been handled more professionally. There were also ongoing maintenance concerns both years we stayed. We experienced multiple days without water due to plumbing issues, and during our second year, the park was down to a single bathroom because of structural damage. We were told portable restrooms were coming, but they never arrived. Activities were amazing our first year, but the second year saw frequent cancellations. Even simple guest comfort requests--like putting down pavilion sides to block strong wind--were denied, despite those same features being used for staff events. Another concern is how complaints are handled. When an inappropriate interaction with a staff member was reported, there was no management available, and no follow-up from the manager afterward. That lack of accountability was disappointing. It's also worth noting that feedback appears to be filtered internally, meaning corporate oversight may not be getting the full picture. We also noticed an increase in police and emergency presence during our second stay, along with a shift in the overall campground atmosphere. To be clear, this could be one of the best campgrounds in the area--it has all the right ingredients.
