On special weekends they have bands play at the bar. The beach is easily accessible right across the street. They have a spot to rinse the sand off when returning from the beach. Rentals available for golf carts & kayaks. The management does a great job communicating with guests on a daily basis with the activities for the day making it very convenient. I recommend you bring mosquito spray as they come out at night sometimes. Also recommend to bring a wagon to carry things to beach and firewood & lighter fluid if you want to make a fire on the beach. This is our favorite place to camp at during the summer!

As a guest, you have to stop by the office to obtain a wristband in order to use any of the Pointe West facilities. I have a service dog and immediately registered her upon arrival, as I am a rule follower. The ladies at the desk were not the nicest at first. They obviously have a registration form because we registered her, but it seemed like they didn't want to allow my dog in when we first walked in. They have a swimming pool, bar, restaurant, and lounge, from what I could tell. We didn't stay long since we needed to get back to the house to decorate. When we entered the restaurant, AFTER registering my dog, the lady in the restaurant had to call for approval. She was a little annoyed and seemed to not trust me when I told her I already registered my dog. Keep in mind, you cannot get passed the gate without stopping by the office because you have to have a code. Once we got passed the service dog "issue", the service was good. We started with the ceviche. It was very tasty. My friend and I split the shrimp platter. Terrific shrimp and onion rings! The serving is perfect for two to split. The atmosphere was a little bland, so I took off one star. Plus, I was still embarrassed it was an ordeal with my dog. I hate confrontation. I felt a place like this (especially for what we spent for the beach house) would be a little high scale of professionalism and decor. Side note: Our beach house was $3700.00 for the weekend - 3 days, 2 nights.

My family and I spent about a week here this summer. It's not a huge beach house, but it's well…read morekept with a beautiful view. It's not right on the beach, but about a lot back. There is no house currently in front of it, so you can sit on your balcony and watch the Gulf and feel the breeze. Because of it's location, you don't have to fight with the hustle and bustle of Galveston during the summer. As a fisherman, you can fish right out in front of the house if you are up with fighting strong currents, and climbing over rocks. There seems to be a deep hole that boats crowd around early in the morning, in which they seem to be catching loads of speckled trout. Beach access is just down the road from the house with a little bridge to cross. You can also drive on the beach roughly 2 miles down, or head to the bay side in that same location. Don't forget, you are nearly on San Luis pass, so that's always an option, and there is a bait shop right there. There is a great chance that we will return to this house next year, or possibly try out one of the owners other locations.
