A lot of reviews ragging on Sander's or throwing shade on them, and truthfully, there's a LOT to talk about (cheap cuts of meat, high fat %, marginal produce, close dated items) but they have a captive audience and are basically the ONLY game in town for groceries, unless you want to go to an Indian mini-mart for over processed snack food. It's basically a 'food desert' there in every sense of the term. Could it be better, sure, but it could also be a whole lot worse. For your staples, it's 'OK'. You aren't going to find any gourmet ingredients for a Jacques Pepin meal, and if you did, I wouldn't use them. However, they did have a decent bakery dept. and the delicatessen has some decent regional meat brands as well as made to order Sub sandwiches and pizza's. Of course, the quality of your food order depends on the person making it. They DO seem to favor 'Miracle Whip' vs regular mayonnaise I've noticed. All in all if you go in with reasonable expectations, you probably won't be disappointed. Trust me, I've been to a lot worse. I got 2 whole subs and was so disappointed by the portions--tons of lettuce, two slices of luncheon meat, paper thin onions and tomato. For $14.99, you're better off buying the stuff for subs and make them yourself. My recommendation to Parkview, put at least $4.00 worth of meat and cheese on the sub for it to be worth $14.99! read more

I stopped going to this store several years ago when the union was canceled by the new owners. I have on occasion returned out of sheer desperation. However when we're here in the winter, we are elderly driving in bad weather to shop elsewhere isn't an option, we shop as frequently as is necessary at Sander's. I was shopping for incoming guests and have been there twice this week (so far). I was there yesterday and while shopping I saw a paper bag in an empty cart, looked around for anyone else shopping and there wasn't anyone there. I took the bag so I could give it to the clerk, however as I believe everyone does in the grocery store, grabbed too many items for the bag I brought and went up to check out. I gave the cashier the said bag to start placing groceries in. A guy named John from the dairy section came up to the cashier and told her to add 5 cents to my almost $100 to pay for the bag I found in a cart previously. I don't care about the 5 cents at all but I didn't even know they charged for bags and for him to follow me to the register to make sure I paid for what turned out to be his garbage (he used the bag to carry something to the dairy department I found out later) I found to be particularly petty. How does this company even exist in this little community?? How is being this petty and making a scene about the garbage workers leave in the isles something we need around a community that cares about each other? I likened it to picking up a box left behind and using it. John, if you read this review, you need to work on your people skills and work more efficiently so you aren't leaving garbage around the store that customers may or may not use. And any other person who reads this that does ordering can't you get some organics in the store again? When it was Parkview they started adding many organic options. To the customer service clerk there this morning when I had to return, thank you for fixing the nonsense John caused. I appreciate your patience and understanding. read more

We loved the Original Parkview Supermarket. And we're glad Sanders took over and kept it the small town grocery store. I will say they were better off with real check stands. And adding a checker and ditching one or two self checkouts would be a huge improvement. Currently it causes backups with only moderate business. read more

This place is poorly ran, people are always rude and obnoxious to their customers complaining about people spending money on their store. They also treat their employees horribly and you always hear employees talking about other employees personal business. There is no privacy amongst the employees with regards to other employees handlings and mishandlings. I would highly recommend traveling the additional 20 mins to stores in other cities or shopping at the local save alot instead of at this store. You'll be treated better and will receive better products. read more

Stopped at Parkview(Sanders) last night to pick up some dinner. Bought a container of the pasta salad in the deli and have to say it was the worst we have ever had. Took one bite and directly thrown away. THe dressing on the salad was to sour to even think about eating. If I would have lived closer I would have returned. read more

Produce is horrible. They switched away from the local Shur Fine Brand to some weird brands with horrible products. At night they shut down all registers and everyone has to go to service desk to check out. Since this store changed hands the quality of products, prices and service have all declined. read more

we have shopped Parkview for over 30 yrs. Before Sanders took over we found it to be a small town gem with high quality meats, decent produce, Surefine products and friendly staff. Since Sanders took over the quality of meat has been iffy, quality of produce is fair to poor and quality of their store brand is poor. Staff is often not very friendly and there seems to be a high turnover of staff to the point there appears only a few faces that are familiar. Prices are always higher than anywhere locally. There has been several times my wife has checked her debit card transactions and found she has been charged several times, 3x for the same transaction. She took the time to go back to the store yesterday and was told by a rude employee she needs to comeback tomorrow morning because the only person that can help her works from 6a to 2 p. The store doesn't open until 7a. This is ridiculous. We both feel she is being cheated. How many other customers are being bilked for multiple charges without their knowledge? I'm very sorry to say this store has deteriorated unbelievably.A store I have frequented my whole life pretty much! I ordered a baby shower cake from a not very friendly lady. We went over the order sheet 2x and every question was answered and circled correctly (traditional buttercream frosting was a must I told her and checked to see it was correct and she also read it back to me even!) When I picked it up it was nicely decorated and I complimentary to the ladies. When I opened it and served it was the whipped cream (yukky and waxy tasting). Most of the guests scraped it off and ate some of the cake..mostly got throwed out. My son called down Sunday and talked with an Adam who said he was going to give us store credit. Then he didnt. I called down Tuesday and he said he checked the order sheet and everything was correct. I said the buttercream frosting was not on the cake , the cheap whipped stuff was..then he says "no frosting choice was circled"! Huh?? Even if that was true (it isnt), wouldn't that be odd the person who took the order wouldn't get a frosting choice on a $30.00 cake? Somehow the frosting choice got "uncircled" hmm strange..then he says " I'll give you $5 bucks in store credit"! Lol! I said no thanks, I'll make an online review, and Thanks! To bad..that used to be a great store, and some of my dear friends and neighbors (who I'm pretty sure know I'm no liar) work there..sad.
