Service: This is our first time here. I've been to many breakfast restaurants. Quickly seated, clean booths and festive decorations. There are maybe 60% capacity right now, and our food came out in 5 minutes, literally. Super fast. Responsive staff. Food: 3 eggs over easy 3.5 stars (no seasoning) Hash browns 4 stars. Nice texture. French toast. 3.5 stars. Basic, but good. Bacon. 4 stars. Crispy. You get a decent amount Stuffed Avocado plate 4 stars. The tuna salad needs more mayo, it's a little dry. The Greek olives have pits in them. I think overall food needs more seasoning. It's comes with little to none. I like how inclusive you are here with decorations for all holidays.

I have lived in this area for quite literally all of my life, have passed Sander's countless times, and have never once stepped foot into it until today. I used to actually be a bit baffled by the business's staying power, because I somehow always seemed to notice it only after its business hours and worried over the desolate parking lot. Well, let me tell you, when it's open, Sander's is anything but desolate. An extremely popular breakfast/lunch spot, Sander's is one of those true American diners that are increasingly rare these days. A meat skillet that ISNT 20 bucks? Amazing. Service was quick and attentive despite how busy it was. I ordered the chocolate chip pancakes and I vastly underestimated how much chocolate chip I was going to get. It's so much, oh god. No complaints, just a full stomach. Despite being a party of 5+, we were in and out in less than 90 mins. Really fast and good service. Definitely no shocker here why Sander's has stood the test of time and difficult economic times.

Cute diner. Quick seating on a Saturday morning. Staff were very kind and attentive other than the guy at the front that was kinda ignoring people while simultaneously closing out people's bills. Food was alright - pancakes were a little overdone, crepes and omelette were okay. They had a sign with something along the lines of "everything that uses eggs has an extra charge to offset the rising egg prices" which basically encompasses everything in a brunch place?

Always busy-in a good way. Vast variety of dishes on menu. Breakfasts are their specialty. The menu features something for everyone - skillets, omelettes, pancakes, breakfast tacos and more. Most meals come with hash browns and toast/pancakes. I ordered an apple and cheddar omelette but will choose something else next time. Generous portions. Friendly waitstaff.

Sander's Family Restaurant was a great choice for breakfast! It was very tasty! I did the meat skillet and loved it! It hit the spot; for sure! The service was very good! Tasty coffee too! My friend got the 1 egg with bacon and hash browns which really enjoyed. Definitely would go back!

    Lox Sandwich

I was really looking forward to enjoying this place. I had just arrived in Chicago the day before to visit family and wanted to find a good breakfast spot near my grandmother's home. I decided to order something simple: a Lox Sandwich. Unfortunately, what I received wasn't a sandwich--it was a deconstructed plate of ingredients that didn't even lend themselves to becoming one. A burnt bagel, two thin slices of onion and tomato (about 1/4" thick), whole olives, and large, chunky cucumber pieces (about 1/2" thick). How is anyone supposed to make a proper sandwich out of that? If this is your usual way of serving a lox sandwich, I'd suggest rethinking it. I was very disappointed. To add to the frustration, the service was less than welcoming. Our waitress didn't seem particularly friendly. For example, when my brother tried to order something a la carte, she repeatedly questioned him, saying things like, "It's expensive," as if to discourage him. All he needed was to be informed of the extra cost so he could decide--it wasn't necessary to make it such a big deal. In the other hand, my brother did enjoy his meal. Overall, this experience fell far short of expectations.

It was very crowded Saturday morning. Though staff were very friendly and quick to bring us drinks. Interior was a typical old fashioned breakfast place , nothing fancy. My boyfriend ordered biscuits and gravy which looked good and my kid ordered Mickey Mouse pancake. Canned pineapple and cocktail cherry were used for face and it was ugly cute. Pineapple tasted not so good though. I ordered classic egg Benedict and I'm afraid to say that it was not egg Benedict that I know of. Whatever the sauce they put was not hollandaise and I suspect it must be a chicken flavor gravy or some sort which was not tasted good. Bread was soaked with sauce and mushy. The Canadian bacon was too thick for my preference. I don't know what it is called but there were mushed potatoes that look like pan fried. It didn't taste bad but I prefer hushed potatoes or something else on the side. I gave 4 starts for good customer service but I didn't not like the egg Benedict.

I made a To-go order and was surprised to find a BURNT omelette. I asked for crispy hashbrowns as well and got the opposite of crispy. I have been coming to sanders for years now and unfortunately this was my last straw. Won't be coming here again.

I was ecstatic when an old friend suggested we meet at Sander's for breakfast. As you can see from my previous reviews, I love this place. Peggy and Alex were very friendly and attentive. They made sure my friend and I were satisfied and our coffee cups were always filled during our visit. I decided on meat skillet this time. It was very filling and delicious. My friend's Sander's omelet was humongous and tasty. With a side of hash browns and French toast, she took home more than she ate. I had plenty of leftovers as well. The place grew lively by the hours. So happy Sander's is doing well post Covid since I plan on returning whenever possible.

One thing about Sanders... they GONE BE PACKED. Resy or no resy. You might want to put on your most comfortable waiting shoes and bring a chair to sit in. I came here following church on a Sunday for a resy at 1:00 pm and we still were told we had to wait. It was my first time and seeing how it's the best talked about restaurant in the middle of village crossing, I expected nothing short of that. (People don't really have many options). It's a huge establishment but when full, seems quite small. Our server, an older older lady, was clearly the best staff as everyone knew her. She did a quick job taking our orders but was pretty behind with the rest of our service. We attempted to remain patient as it was packed but when inquiring about our food we were met with unpleasantries. I ordered the breakfast tacos with a side of hash brown and I wasn't impressed. For $14.95, I got a large amount of food but the quality and the flavor fell short, very short. The tacos was their version of chorizo style mixed with eggs and cheese. The hash browns weren't crispy and they needed tons of salt. There wasn't a spice on the table that I didn't use to spice up the plate. They attempt to give you a quarter size amount of salsa as if that's going to help the tacos. I needed a full bottle. I'd return but not on my own will and I'd definitely be going on an empty day.

This is a great brunch place! We ordered skillets and pancakes (we substituted with the special ones), and all of them were delicious. I liked that the booth felt comfortable to sit in and that they have their own free parking lot (although it's quite small and it was completely full when I arrived). There's a big coffee shop a block away (Qahwah House) so we went there afterward. Such a good day to eat brunch here then have some coffee and work at the nearby coffee shop!

Sanders has gone downhill over the years. My family and I used to like eating here. I worked a night shift and my coworker and I wanted breakfast. So i suggested we go here. We were seated in a booth to the right side of the restaurant when we saw a cockroach walk on the wall. We told the server and we left because that just made me not want to eat there's who would?

Grecian chicken absolutely nasty and over cooked.

Sanders usually has pretty good food. I also like the waitresses they do a good job handling the crowd. Yes it's unfortunate that they now close at 3 PM But here is a word of advice, DO NOT ORDER THE GRECIAN CHICKEN!!! DO NOT DO IT, NASTIEST THING IVE EVER HAD. TOOK A FEW BITES AND THE REST WENT INTO THE GARBAGE. A fairly expensive meal, considering the only parts I ate were the soup and the baked potato

We didn't notice until our way out but they also have a drive-thru, and signs that say they offer delivery/are on DoorDash, so with multiple options, Charcoal Flame is convenient. This building looks like it possibly used to be an old 90s/00s KFC or Pizza Hut or something, but it's cozy and clean and we love an easy access parking lot. The menus are expansive and you order at the counter when you walk in. There are plenty of tables for dining in, and a few were taken while we were there. There was a steady stream of phone orders coming in for pick up, and the restaurant was busy overall. We were helped right away and the staff at the counter were so friendly. I ordered a Maxwell street sausage as a meal ($5 additional for a drink and fries) and my partner ordered the American Gyro sandwich and also as a meal. We grabbed a table and our drinks from the fountain machine and only waited a few minutes for the number on our receipt to be called with our order. The food here is so fresh and delicious. This is one of the best Maxwell street sausages I've had around, the bread was perfect and soft inside and crispy on the outside with the sausage split and grilled and perfectly sweet caramelized onions. The fries looked like they came in frozen/pre-cut but were fried up perfect and a generous portion. The Gyro came stacked with meat, it wasn't dry, and had great flavor. Because the food was so delicious I decided to grab a piece of baklava to go, which I was assured was homemade and delicious - and they were right. So sweet, fresh, textured, rich, luxurious. Don't skip the baklava when you stop by! This is definitely a spot that will be added to our regular rotation of lunch/dinner spots around town. Thank you so much Charcoal Flame Grill for a wonderful experience with super friendly staff! Can't wait to see you soon and try more menu items!

I also got their Kefte Dinner Plate for my son Alex. Alex said his kefte plate was good. I, on the other hand, found my touted Gyros plate, kinda "meh". The meat was kinda bland, although those humongous greek potato wedges were awesome! I bought the pork chops for din-din with my wife later that night. Unfortunately, the chops were tough and chewy! I know it's tough to cook pork chops, but, they're a restaurant. You'd think they'd know how to cook pork chops the right way. So, in conclusion, it was a big letdown for me on this new find. I'd have to say that their servings are quite abundant, but It terribly lacks in taste and texture, and I don't think quantity equals quality here.

It's located in a nice strip mall building, modern looking. This is an order at the counter type of restaurant. Has some spicy ass food. There's a sort of Mediterranean fast food kind of feel too. It's about $10 for one of the Rice Bowls. The vegan option for protein is the falafel. These were plentiful, a good value. Also you get a choice of sauce, and I got the creamy hummus. This also came with hot and white garlic sauce. It was fucking ass hot. This had serious hot peppers in there. For sure I would go here again. It's expensive so not all the time of course.
