I had a morning appointment, however, had to wait for service as there were not enough workers for the amount of clients that were there early in the morning. I have never left a bad review in my life but my experience at this shop was so bad. I feel it is my responsibility to do so. The manicure I had was downright painful. I gave feedback that he was hurting me and then he hurt me so badly I yelped. I then had my nails painted by the owner of the shop to whom I gave feedback that it was the most painful manicure I've ever had after having a manicure every week for the last 35 years. I moved here recently have been looking for a place that can do dip/sns nails. Sadly, i will not be returning here. The person who did my nails cut into my pointer and ring finger nail beds with the drill. I had to ask her to stop drilling because it hurt. Then, I had to deal with the alcohol spray to clean it... In my opinion, cutting the skin with a drill on two separate nails is inexcusable.... also, the pedicure was extremely mediocre... it was expensive, not relaxing, and my fingers are left uncomfortable.... I had made an appt online with any available nail tech. I showed up 10 minutes early and I was ushered back. She immediately removed my old polish from my toes and began polishing. I asked no foot soak? And she said I don't have time for that. Wt?!?! Then took me over to get my nails done. She halfway removed the old polish and began painting my nails. Not going to trim my cuticles?! She didn't have time for that either. I was in shock! Why did they accept my appt? She thought I was a walk in(?). She started painting my nails and they looked like the Rush job I was getting. I told her so quietly and she was offended. I told her to remove the polish and I would leave! I have never had such an experience. I was charged $15 for the toenail polish which I paid. I'm still not sure what happened but I felt dissed and I will never go back here. I am so upset right now! I had an appointment scheduled for 11:00 today with Ben. I made this appointment at least a month in advance online. I specifically picked Ben because he does a fantastic job with my nails. He was only on the schedule for Sundays, so I booked in advance to secure my spot. I walked in and tell them I have an appointment. The workers seem flabbergasted that I am there for Ben because supposedly he has not worked there in a very long time. Now, I am going out of town next week. So, I ask if someone can please do my nails since I have made this appointment online and got both an email confirmation and a text confirmation which I confirmed. The workers say they cannot fit me in as there is nobody to do my nails today. Wow. Just wow. This was not my fault. Why have an online scheduling system if you are not going to update it or even check that customers confirm it. When I confirmed a few days ago, they should've checked to make sure the worker, Ben in this case, was coming in. Now, there is probably no one in the area that can get my nails done because next week is spring break. The sad part is, they acted like they didn't care one bit that I said I would find another salon to do my nails. Not an "I'm sorry" or even "have a nice day". They said nothing as I walked out. I have been going to resorts and high-end nail spas for mani /pedis for years. I am loyal and a regular when I find the right place/person. I am super picky about how I want my nails done. Ultra picky about the cleanliness of the location & utensils being used, and the professionalism of the employees. I don't want my service rushed, I don't want my tech answering their cell, or engaged in constant conversation with other employees during my service. I'm paying for it to be about me. Nails & Spa and Nina and Annie hit the mark on all points for our mother/daughter pamper us day. I kid you not, this was the first time EVER that I was relaxed enough to almost fall asleep. We had deluxe pedis, which is all I ever get. But this one was the best one I've received so far. So amazing to sit in that massage chair while being treated with scrubs and masks and hot stone massage and wrapped in warm towels for the finale. I'm used to receiving all of these products but not always with the proper technique or service. Here they do it right! Great personalized service and fun conversation. Clean spa, proper utensil cleaning techniques and friendly fun staff. I'm sure we will both be regulars here! read more

I'm fairly new to Savannah and have only experienced manicures in New Jersey. I tried out Sandfly Nails and have been very pleased. My manicurist's name is Tea and she is Tea-riffic! Not only is she great at what she does but is so much fun to hang out with for the time I'm there. I only get regular manicures but she does them so well that they look and last like a gel. Unfortunately my pedi was rushed. She finished in about 20 minutes, plus the time she left me for the polish to dry. It was supposed to be a 45 minute appointment. The nails look fine, but my feet still still look and feel rough. The whole time she worked on my feet, she kept looking toward the door. When she finished with the polish, she left. Finally someone else came and put the topcoat on. Then I waited more than 10 minutes for her to return and help me with my shoes. She never did return. The pedicurist next to me helped me to get my shoes on instead so that I could check out and leave. It's the first time ever have not left a tip. I could understand if there had been some sort of emergency, but she checked me out. read more

I've been going to Nails and Spa since they moved from one location to another in Sandfly, about 2 years now. For a long time their service was great, and the folks that worked in there were all good. I never chose a specific tech to work on my toes or nails EVER because all of the employees were fantastic. Never a bad experience. However, for the past several months things have gone downhill. It's all new people in the shop and for the last two times specifically I've had the same lady do my toes and yesterday a new woman did my nails. I scheduled a few days prior to come in at 11:30a for a Dream Deluxe Pedicure with Gel (I already had gel on) and a Regular Manicure with Gel (no gel on my nails). They were slow when I first got there but picked up through my session, which was evident because the tech doing my toes, (I believe her name was Kathy but I could be wrong) started to speed up. I specifically scheduled that pedicure because I had been rough on my feet and legs earlier that week and wanted the additional massage and pampering. The time that was spent on my pedicure session (that cost an additional $18 from the Regular) was less than I had ever spent in the chair for any previous session. Apart from putting the salves and lotions on my legs, there was no massage whatsoever. The lotions had been barely rubbed in at all because when I got home I noticed there were streaks of greenish mud mask still on the backs of my legs (after walking through the grocery store for an hour like that). In addition, she insisted on removing my gel (two pedicure sessions in a row) using the drill, which has caused my toe nails to be so thin I was wincing with the heat and pain as she dremeled away the polish and my toe nail simultaneously. When it came time for my manicure, Gabriel took over and it was an unpleasant experience. Not only did she not use any cuticle cream after soaking my hands so it was painful, but also she managed to cut three of my cuticles to the point of bleeding (bleeding that she tried to stop by using acetone, OUCH). One other one cuticle was cut was so rough that later in the day the skin started to peel back and caused a painful tear up my finger. Gabriel also spent the majority of our session talking on the phone to three different individuals, one of which she even Facetimed with while she was filing my nails. All four of the cuticles she mutilated were during a phone call where she was obviously not concentrating. Although I tried to engage her in conversation when she was actually off the phone it was clear she was interested in moving on to her next client because she started to talk to that person with me still sitting in front of her. My minor gel manicure must not have brought in the cash like her full set acrylic with dip was going to be. She rushed the gel paint job, and it's patchy, bumpy in some places, there are ridges from the brush strokes, bubbles in two nails, and over the cuticle in others. Overall it was a bad trip, and I will unfortunately be on the look out for a new place to spend $100 every two weeks. read more

He requested the "deluxe", but I have to say, if what I got was the "deluxe" treatment, I could tell no difference between that and a regular mani-pedi at my hole-in-the-wall place in DC. The place is very nice and clean and new, and the equipment and polish selections are great - with one exception - NO nail dryers! Ugh. Stopped in after brunch, we're from out of town and I needed a polish change and an acrylic fill-in. My acrylics were not filled in, not even touched. She removed the gel manicure I came in with and painted my nails. No acrylic work whatsoever. The nail polish she applied wrinkled and is full of bubbles, and overall sloppy execution - the nails look like she was painting without her glasses on. I felt so bad for the woman who did my manicure because she barely understood English. She had me sit with my fingers over a fan to dry the polish and the young man who seemed to be in charge came over to teach me how to tell when the polish was dry. The woman then took off, starting a new customer's nails and never spoke to me again. Approximately five minutes later a completely different nail technician looked over at me and said "You good. You done.", even though my nails were not completely dry. (Of course by this point the wrinkles and bubbles had already set in and I just wanted to get out of there.) The manicure was cheap - too cheap. $15. It makes me worry about the women working there. I hope they're being paid appropriately but let's see, rushed work, low prices... I'm worried they're being treated like chattel. I won't be back anyway because we're on vacation but stay away!! Pay a little extra and go somewhere else. read more

I just got my nails done here. I wanted to try out the new place in Sandfly. Well, the nail tech tried to convince me to get tips and kept telling me how short my nails were. Yes, I am already aware of my nails being short. I do not need her to keep telling me that nor do I need her to make me feel bad about my nails. Once I got them done, she jabbed my nail with a tool. Blood seeped out of the cut. Being a healthcare worker, I know the dangers of infection, which one can easily acquire with an open wound especially in such a vulnerable environment of a nail salon. The nail tech didn't even wipe the cut with alcohol or get rid of the blood. She left it on the entire time. So gross! I am not sure I would go back since they made me feel bad about my nails and also cut me. read more

But it was awkward...several of the guys just sitting on the couch watching football...kind of threw off the "spa" feel. The lady who worked on me was nice and helpful. Even though I was being difficult with my color choice. However. She cut me several times. Including one very large time on my thumb, and kind of just let it continue to bleed until I said something...I didn't think that was ok. I got very tired of my old nail shop, because I felt like cattle and my nails were chipping and peeling within a week. I loved their website and Facebook reviews that I went out of my way to try them out. There was a bit of wait, but the owner gave me the option of having him call me if I decided to walk around the shopping area. I thought was very nice. I decided to wait and talked to a nice gentleman whom seemed to be a regular there. I got a lovely regular pedicure, which in other places would be considered a deluxe everywhere else. They also did a great job on my eyebrows, which I do have a cowlick in my left eyebrow. Don't ask how that happened. They fixed it! Everyone was making sure I was comfortable, if I wanted anything, and how else they could help me. They never tired to get me to get the deluxe or sell me other services. It was awesome. :).
