12/26/2019 Five stars +, Raymond provided a reasonable bid for a roofing repair job, 400-500 sq ft on a steep roof and work began on time and the crew of 4 completed the job in one day. These guys were consummate pros and as a licensed contractor they provide their own insurance. The crew showed up on time and were friendly, efficient and very professional. After the work was complete the repairs were explained and the materials required to complete the job were all included in the original bid including some extra tiles. I contacted Sandoval roofing because I had several rotten fascia boards and damaged eaves on my house. Raymond personally came out and inspected my house and determined that the prior roof had been installed incorrectly causing water to penetrate the eaves all around the edge of the house. I contacted several other roofing companies and they verified that the roof was installed incorrectly. Sandoval was the only company that was willing to try and repair the problem without just replacing the whole roof. Ultimately, I decided to replace the roof instead of just repairing a portion. I called Sandoval Roofing because my roof was end of life, I wanted some new skylights, and we were overheating in the summer. They completed the work in 3 days and did a fantastic job. The working team are really nice people and kept everything tidy. Moved into a new house and the inspection located two leak areas of concern. The original roofer was called out and quoted a VERY high price for the repair - though they claim to offer a 20 year leak proof guarantee to their work (the original owner called while they still owned the house) - they did not consider the leaks their problem. Raymond Sandoval worked around my schedule for the quote, inspected carefully what was to be done and gave a reasonable quote much lower than others. Despite it being the busiest time for their business, the job was handled quickly and I have had no more problems... more importantly I know Raymond would take of it if I did. I wish I could give a 10 star rating for Sandoval Roofing. I interviewed several roofers and was not comfortable with any of them, and then I met Ray Sandoval. Ray is a man of honesty, integrity and a strong work ethic. Plus he and his crew showed up on time every day. I live in the historic district of old Escondido and was concerned about keeping the integrity of my deeply pitched roof, the curved eves and angled rafters. I was also nervous about having 4 layers of shingles torn off and what might lie beneath. It took one day to tear off 14,000 lbs of old roofing. My deck and yard were filled with debris but Ray's crew quickly cleaned up the mess. The men are neat, polite, hard working and devoted to combining beauty with a very sound structure. My once sagging roof is now lifted and supported. The curved eves and angled rafters are beyond beautiful. People walking by during construction were asking for Ray's card. They completed the job in 2 days, with 4 workers working from sunrise until the evening. I met with 3 roofers for 3 quotes before selecting Sandoval; Ray was the only roofer to spend considerable time explaining my long term options, and his honesty and integrity was clear from the first meeting. Honest company, knowledgeable owner (Ray) who has been in the business for a while and is also a nice guy. I had Ray come out and check out my roof and eaves for several different repairs that were needed. He thoroughly explained the issues and proposed corrective actions and then had his office send me a quote of around $4,000 which was definitely reasonable compared to other bids I had received. He said he was booked up for a bit but would get me on the schedule as early as possible within the next 6 weeks. He followed through and did so. I gave him a 10% $400 deposit. For a variety of reasons though, I decided a few days before he was to arrive and start work that I needed to hold off. I called Ray's office to cancel and told him he could keep some of the deposit for admin cost, materials, etc. due to my last minute cancellation. They refunded the entire $400 even thought they didn't need to. Although I didn't actually have the work done and can't rate that aspect, honesty and integrity in the contracting world is big to me. So I will definitely call him in future when needed and would recommend him from what I experienced. read more
