I'm usually willing to give somebody the benefit of the doubt. There are several reasons someone might not reply... Maybe there was an accident....maybe something happened to their family, etc. Having said that, I figured I would try to call him from a different line than the one I had been previously using to leave messages and texts from. SHOCKER!!! He picked up on the first ring, then proceeded to tell me that he had to go to Mexico because his grandmother had passed away, and he had to deliver her body down there. Wow, that is completely tragic, and I wouldn't want anybody to go through that. He also claimed he would call me back within the hour to firm things up for the next day. Well after 4+ hours, that never happened. He just continued to string me along. Based on a lot of the one-star yelp reviews I read....Somehow, I have the funny feeling that he's had a lot of relatives pass away and have to be delivered down to Mexico. If you're looking for any kind of rain gutter work to be done on your house, Marcelino and the other folks at First Choice may be a good fit for you. If you like being quoted great pricing, then ghosted, lied to, inconvenienced, and left feeling like you completely wasted your time with a moron, then give First Choice a call. Marcelino and his business will fit all those wickets perfectly. I realize times are tough for contractors and subs right now. We're in the middle of a down cycle. Their quote was completely itemized--which I appreciated--and ended up being well under every other retail bid I received. Two people really made the difference: Mary and Bolo. Mary is a literal pro when it comes to the insurance side of things. She worked tirelessly on the supplements to ensure we maximized our RCV payout from our insurance. She caught things the adjuster missed and helped us get the settlement we actually needed to do the job right. Bolo, the project manager, was extremely responsive and reasonable throughout the entire build. Whenever a technical issue came up--even complex stuff like electrical circuit stability or specific plumbing heights--he was there to talk it through and get it handled. One thing I will say for people considering them: you need to be the kind of homeowner who has the capacity to stay on top of the work. If you know exactly what you want and you're willing to stay involved in the day-to-day details, C2C is an incredible solution. It's a partnership, and because I stayed engaged, we were able to hit a level of quality that usually costs twice as much. The house looks amazing (see the photos of the Blue Thunder Quartzite and the Jade tile!). They were fair, they were fast, and most importantly, they were responsive. He said that due to the width of the opening and us wanting a sliding glass door, he would have to frame the opening to accommodate the sliding glass door. He provided us with several options and we picked the best one that suited us. Jay immediately started framing and when the glass pieces came in, he and his crew came out and finished the framing and installation. Just like the last time, we are extremely pleased with the workmanship, appearance, and pricing. If you need glass work, no job is too big or too small for the Gurus!!!

We've used a different shower glass company multiple times in the past for our last house we remodeled and LOVE that company but figured this time around we could try Glass Guru for this newly remodeled shower because they are more local and our previous experience with them was great! Unfortunately, this experience was subpar, 2/5 stars (hence my 3/5 star rating, I split the difference between my two experiences with this company). Setting up the estimate appt was easy and they came out quickly. The estimate arrived promptly as well. We decided to pull the trigger and that's slightly where it went downhill. Due to the tile we used, I did ask the estimator Jay what option would be best. Floating shower doors or a set up that had metal trim around the whole thing that holds the glass in a more sturdy manner.. he said either would work. When the guys came to install, they didn't really seem to know what they were doing. The end result looked very sloppy, the clear silicone looked like it was pasted on by a 5 year old and a black trim piece placed along the bottom was crooked. When I mentioned this to Jay, he said he would happily replace the trim piece but would need to order it. When I told him this was our only real "complaint" he followed up with a statement "well, so I have a complaint now, the tile you used is really thin". Um, ok, what does that have to do with this situation?! I asked from the beginning what shower glass would be best and was told that any would be ok but now we're talking about how thin my tile is?! What a very odd statement to make to a customer AFTER install. This should be assessed prior to install AND I asked what glass set up would be best for our shower. Anyhow, 2-3 weeks went by after mentioning all of this and complete silence. I had to actually call to ask when this new trim piece would be installed and then they finally set up the appt. When a customer has an issue with something, they shouldn't be the one to have to call and follow up, right? The same kids came to install the new piece and they did a better job but as I sit here today writing this, no one has followed up with me to see how everything looks now. The customer service is non existent with this company. I will definitely be returning to Exquisite Shower Glass in Corona for my next shower remodel, not Glass Guru. They might be good at some glass related things but sliding shower glass doors don't seem to be it.

I ended up selecting a Duralum cover that his company also offers, and I'm glad I did. It's just the look I was going for. I was also impressed with Adam's business model, which is built on quality and efficiency at a very reasonable price without cutting corners or sacrificing customer service. Now for the best part: A guy named Brody, his lead installer. In addition to being a super nice guy, his work is meticulous. The back of my home isn't linear, so there are bump-outs and protrusions, making the installation more difficult and time consuming. This wasn't the slightest challenge for Brody and his team. The finished product is snuggled tightly against my stucco and professionally sealed on the roof to prevent any water dripping through when it rains. I watched him work, measuring and cutting the aluminum to match my home so the fit and finish is far greater than I imagined. As you can tell from the photos, I still have work to do (concrete coating, fence repairs, etc.) to match the beauty of my new cover.

We were referred to LJM Cabinets And Countertops by a painter we've used in the past, and I'm so thankful we did. LJM really does best every estimate. They looked at what Home Depot was going to offer us, and beat their prices but offered all new cabinets, painting done to our satisfaction, all with a quartz countertop. From start to finish, they were always professional. They start work on time (never once were they late, a blessing in the construction world), communicated throughout the entire process so we always knew what was going on, helped us around an issue with our countertop mixup from the dealer (without missing any time and zero delays to the project), and even completed the entire remodel in under his own time estimate. From start to finish it was under 6 weeks, and we ended up with the perfect kitchen for our house. Cannot recommend them highly enough. He was very honest and told me that I should also do some maintenance work to extend the roof's lifespan. LOL We had termite damage and had to replace a great deal of wood. I had the entire new roof treated with Bora-Care, then tented the house for fumigation before using primer (to seal in the Bora-Care) and installing the underlayment. Oscar was completely supportive of this request and worked with our pest control contractor, returning to complete the roof a week later. Some roofers didn't wanna do this and told me it was not necessary but that's what I wanted so I could try to prevent the return of termites. As far as I'm concerned, Oscar's roofing company sets the customer care bar so high, other roofers need to charter a jet just to see it. Do yourself a favor...gather a ton of estimates and then meet with Oscar last. You'll instantly realize Oscar is head & shoulders above his competition. Zero room for improvement.
