I was told that no one would call me for the results, but that I would have to go into my patient portal to get the biopsy diagnosis. I received the biopsy results days later, and it was cancer. I sent a note to the doctor asking what came next. I received no word from the clinic, so I called finally. I was told that they had not received the biopsy report yet. I said that I have had the report for at least a week. Then I found out the Dr. Yanez went on vacation for 2 weeks and none of his staff even tried to check on things for me. Thus, I called and made an appointment with another plastic surgeon. Four weeks later, I get a call from PPSD saying that they are now ready to schedule the surgery. I responded that they were too late, because I had already found another surgeon that actually seems to care about me. (And I have to add that their Patient Portal rarely works)

She came out and said they were at lunch. I shared that i just needed to purchase a product quickly. She repeated that they are on lunch break. I could see a group of five or six people in scrubs just standing around 5 feet from me through the window. I shared that i had driven 30 minutes and asked if their computers were down for lunch already, or could they do a simple and quick transaction. She then asked another worker who was willing to help. By the time all of this transpired and i had my product and was walking out it was 11:59am. As i left, i asked the lady helping me when lunch started. She said noon. So, what in the world was the problem?! Business must be REALLY GOOD if you can be this rude and unwilling to help or bend any for your customers! (And it was NOT even the "sacred lunch break" yet!) crazy. Yowza.... I'm sorry... I guess it was MY honor to be there

My wife had been a patient for over 6 years and had also recommended them to me. For the past 3…read moreyears she has suffered from fairly severe IBS and has had to cancel numerous doctor appointments because of vomiting and diarrhea resulting in a need to be close to our bathroom. She did cancel a couple appointments with this practice and most recently was a no show due to having fallen asleep after a severe bout of diarrhea. When she called to reschedule, in response to a voice mail from them, she was told that the doctor no longer wanted her as a patient. I guess patients at this clinic are not allowed to have ongoing medical conditions that sometimes result in missed appointments which, honestly, are fact of life. Since this practice does not want my wife as a patient, they are also losing me. Charlotte is full of good alternate dermatologists. I would advise anyone who asked to stay away from this practice.

I saw Lisa Matuga about it, she was more concerned about a little dot on my back instead of what I came in for her to look at. She took a biopsy of the little dot and just gave me an antibiotic for the big lump I came in for in the first place. The following week I had my check up with my family doctor and he looked at it and was real concerned about it. He also did not like what my lungs sounded like. He left the room and ask me to wait a minute. His nurse came in and said I need to be over near Southpark at 7pm that night to get a CT neck and chest scan. He called me at my house at 10:30pm that night and left a message he needs to talk to me and will call in the morning. He called me and said I have cancer that spread to my lungs. He schedule a biopsy of that big lump on my back that Wednesday the test results came back I have Stage 4 metastatic melanoma that spread to my lungs. I am now seeing an oncologist. I have a Pet scan and a CT scan of my brain this week. I would not recommend this place if you have a lump on you.

Anyhow, we have seen the SAME primary physician which I will remain nameless.. It isn't that he's no good .. I feel like he's looking /glaring straight through me as I am talking (not listening) so well over the last 3 years. My husband said he's probably "buying his time to retirement ".. Could be.. but they way I felt 1000% UNHEARD /didn't give two craps over my physical exam .. Mind you this is a well check visit .. funny thing .. my husband is sticking by him. Maybe he likes men. Prefers men patients . Who in the bloody hell knows. All I know..is I too feel the communication in this particular office is wayyy , by far, far from being even 50% good. They SUCK!!!!!! When you're sick you shouldn't need to have to be seen 3 times in less than 11 days for the same symptoms.. when I clearly knew I needed a new antibiotic for my bronchitis and a steroid shot. They just are all in it for the $$$$$. Run!! Run!!! Do not come here . I'm trying to become not lazy and actually have a true want to fill out 20 forms to transfer all of my medical history to another physician. They suck. FWIW.. I have tried another Dr. She SUCkED!! Anne something have no clue her last name (blonde) she is awful. Zero bedside manor. If you don't need any type of personality or feel of compassion than you would love her. Other Wise she seems 5 steps out of med school, know it all who is quite rude and condescending IMHO. I've also seen 3 different PA's there. Probably would only consider ONE of the 3... if I have no choice but to go back there. Awful practice! Awful

This is regarding Atrium Primary Care on Copper Way in Ballantyne. Yelp immediately brought me to…read moreMMG (who Atrium is a sister company of if not outright owner), so I'll leave my review here, specifically about HIGHLY OVERRATED Jennifer Sheldon, PA. This is what I've already sent to Atrium Corporate: Husband & I waited over an hour after arriving early for my 3pm new patient appt. w/PA Jennifer Sheldon. Receptionist was warm & friendly & we enjoyed speaking to her & other patients despite waiting a ridiculous amount of time considering the chart had a "green light" for today stating "running on time". An Indian woman came in at 3:20pm for a 3:20 appt. and was called back before us (not receptionist's fault, it was the "back" that stuck their head out and called for that woman). Asked receptionist why the back would call a patient with a later appointment in ahead of us. She wondered too & went into the back but had nothing to tell us as there were other patients entering & waiting for her. I didn't get called back until 4pm or later. Very nice tech took my vitals, all were good. Then the supposedly "WONDERFUL" Jennifer came in with pre-conceived notions and was nothing like the "5 star" PA/MD (some referred to her as) we'd read about. My paperwork made it clear that I am an insomniac who needs Ambien to help with sleep & that Xanax has helped me in the past with panic/anxiety (3 deaths in immediate family & spouse with heart condition which required a triple bypass last spring). Jennifer was rushed, condescending & blunt! She didn't ask one question other than had I seen a psychiatrist or a sleep disorder MD. Told her "no and didn't plan to & with reason. Jennifer then pointed to a Surescripts printout & said I had Ambien filled as well as Triazolam on 12/12/2023. SO WHAT? I made it clear I was there to establish new patient relationship and that I'd need Ambien & something for anxiety in future. She seemed to imply I was a drug addict and despite hearing about my husband's heart condition showed no concern for either of us, said she'd never prescribe any "controlled substance" (incl. Ambien) so we left. Would love to know who's giving her those fake 5 star reviews!!!!!". FYI, I do believe that complaint I sent to Atrium Corporate regarding PA, Jennifer Sheldon, was KIND to say the least! She's totally a cold hearted, snotty, uncaring "B" who only deserves minus reviews. How did she get 240-plus "five star reviews" on Google/Atrium after being at that small practice less than a year? Sounds like Daddy, Mommy or "Uncle Buck" pushed for them or wrote them personally (maybe she or her dog did -- don't know how she could have a husband who'd stay with her for anything other than family money). BTW, MY husband sat in on that miserable meeting & was so livid I feared he'd drive off the road as he angrily went on about her on the way home. Jennifer Sheldon is the WORST person I have ever met in the medical world, STEER CLEAR!!!!!
