Please don't let this place be a source of stress on your wedding like it was mine. They cut pieces of my dress without asking me which altered the whole appearance and I had to pay a lot of money for us to try different thing to get it restored - but it ultimately never looked the same. They never asked what I wanted done, just took it upon theirselves to do what they wanted - including trying to sew up the leg slit in the dress because she thought it was too high. In addition to this - timeliness was not of importance for them. I had an hour drive and had to make extra trips and schedule childcare because they forgot to have my dress ready for scheduled appointments. read more

Steer clear of this seamstress. She does not do the work herself and does not mention to clients that she has other (much less experienced) women doing the alterations. She meets you, does all of the pinnings and is present for fittings which makes you believe she is doing the work. Never mentions other seamstresses. I brought her a $1100 MOB dress that was too big and it was butchered to the point I was unable to wear it or even resell it. I had 4 fittings and it got worse each time. She claimed she didn't take in the sides although the dress went from too big to way too small. This was after losing 10 pounds since the original fitting. She cut off so much fabric that it was no longer floor length. She said "I don't think it looks that bad". One sleeve was longer than the other. The built in bra was suppose to be removed multiple times. On the 3rd visit the bra had 1 cup above my breast and the other below. Not sure what "alteration" would cause that. This was when I realized someone else was doing the work. She slipped up and said, "I can't believe they didn't remove those pads again". I got in my car and my daughter said "they? She isn't doing the alterations". On the last visit, she said she couldn't make the dress any better. She admitted other women were doing the work "but they do it exactly as I mark it". I told her she needed to disclose that she wasn't doing the work when people drop off expensive clothes. She agreed to pay me $537.50 for half the price of the dress. I left the dress with her and told her she could try to sell it and make some of her money back. I didn't want there to be any way she could say I had scammed her or profited off the dress somehow. I appreciate in the end that she tried to do something to acknowledge they had botched the job but I was still out hundreds of dollars and had no dress 2 weeks before the wedding. read more

I had a wedding dress altered by Sandra for my 12/3/2021 destination wedding. Although Sandra and her staff are amazing people, The quality of work just isn't there. I had spaghetti straps added to the dress. The left strap was sewn on twisted and the right strap broke before the ceremony (they also were not trimmed, but that's a little petty for me to complain about). The length of the dress was done well, but the bustle did not hold. The first appointment went great. The second appointment I had to remind her to remove the cups out of the dress and to fix the straps. The third visit was a repeat of the second; it was like there was no progression between appointments. On the fourth appointment, they showed me the bustle, which had to be fixed, and tried to give me the dress that wasn't steamed/pressed. I didn't try it on until my wedding day when I noticed the straps and dancing was impossible with the bustle always falling down. I'm very disappointed given the cost of the alterations and how many appointments there were to get the details correct. read more

I'm going to drop a quick 5 in here for Sandra G's. My wife had to go to and from this shop during the lead up to my brother's wedding. She was the only in-town bridesmaid, so she did a lot of dress related stuff that I don't quite understand. She seemed happy, and so did the bride! What I appreciated was that, in my role as best man, I needed to get some measurements done for a custom vest and tie my brother was ordering for the groomsmen. I had already failed to get the right measurements once when I did it myself, and another place apparently didn't get all the right measurements. Don't ask me...I just wore the stuff! So I'm sitting on the couch and hanging with Mr T when I ask if I can get some help with the measurements. I explain what's going on and show her the info from my brother. While my wife changed she got measurements for me, wrote it all up and answered a few questions for me. That helped get me off the bride's naughty list as the one groomsman who had drug his feet! Overall it was a cool experience. It's slightly tricky to find since it's behind/below the shopping center you'll find on a map app. But, for my part, I think it's a nice place. read more

I cannot recommend Sandra G's for alterations. 4 appointments, 4 fifty minute drives to Sandra G's, and 4 times being told the dress wasn't ready. Not only was it not ready, it had never been touched. On the 5th appointment it was altered while I waited. Straps ended up being different lengths and the slit was cut but not reinforced. The dress had been hemmed but the lining had not. It was longer than the dress. I left with my dress 1 week before the event and found someone else to make alterations. read more

BRIDES AVOID THIS PLACE AT LITERALLY ALL COST. I was rescheduled multiple times and they kept my dress for 2 months without even touching it. I showed up to my "appointment" 3 times to be told that it was not ready yet. Finally after the last time I just took my dress because I did not trust them anymore. I cried multiple times leaving there because I was SO frustrated with how they handled it. Extremely unprofessional to not call if the item is not done and have your customers drive all the way to the studio to leave with nothing. I made multiple appointments and even called multiple times to ensure that it would be done. They confirmed over the phone that it would be done. There were at least three other people in the waiting room that were dealing with the same thing I was. I am not sure if they were just not turning people away or just have terrible time management but it has got to be fixed or they will lose many other customers. This place was recommended to me by a friend, and I really like Sandra G! It was clear after my first fitting that she really knew her stuff. To start, if you need something to be altered you need to make an appointment. I called Sandra right before close one Friday evening, and she was able to fit me the following Monday. I took in a white, open- weave maxi to be hemmed and she did a great job. She also added some darting in the back of the dress because it fit shorter in the front than in the back. It took about 5 days to pick up that dress and another item I took in for a small strap adjustment. What I also like about this place is the cute little dog that greets you when you walk in. His name is Mr. T, and he just follows Sandra around and wags his tail. I certainly plan to take in more items as needed. I think most of Sandra's clients have wedding dresses or bridesmaid dresses, but when I was talking to her she mentioned to me she even had a client come in to add fabric to a swimsuit. Based on my interactions with her, I'm certain she could probably make anything I own fit like a dream. read more

Miss Sandra was an angel on earth for my Covid-wedding. My groom and I had to cancel our planned ceremony- which also meant cancelling my custom gown. Last minute, I bought a new dress online. Worst alterations ever! Five new pairs of men's dress pants ruined. 1 3/4 cuffs requested. Cuffs came back all different sizes, even on same pair of pants. Requested them to be measured from one leg fitting to ensure length same on other leg. Refused. Measured both. So pants aren't even in length. One leg longer than other. Requested tapering. Again uneven from one leg to another. One leg never even tapered. Double crease on several pairs. Ruined! Don't know how they stay in business! Never again. Don't go. You'll regret it! The worst experience I've had at almost any business. I showed up THREE times for rescheduled appointments to pick up my dress and every time they kept saying they had not done it yet. I ended up picking it up the DAY OF my event without even trying it on. The first time I came to get it they had no clue who I was. I walked in and told the lady at the front desk my name and she said "oh I thought the lady that just left was you. Well yours isn't ready then". They ended up still having to reschedule my appointment two more times after that because they hadn't done it. Every time I would have to drive there and leave again. Then they didn't have any recollection that they had to reschedule my appointment 3 times. They did not offer one apology or explanation the entire time for why they did not even start on my dress until the night before my event. I paid full price and they acted like absolutely nothing was wrong. There were so many other little signs to prove they do not care and you are very unimportant to them. They had to call me TWICE to be reminded of what I needed done. Absolutely horrible service, extremely unprofessional, and zero regard for their customers. read more

As much as I hate leaving a 1 star review, going to Sandra G's for my wedding dress alterations was the worst, most stressful experience of my entire wedding planning process. What should have taken 2-3 appointments took 7 or 8 (I lost count after about the 5th appointment) due to Sandra not finishing the work in time and having to cancel and the work being very wrong. For example, my wedding dress was ordered much too large and after taking my exact measurements and pinning me into the dress, my dress was altered to be at least 2 sizes too small. This, along with Sandra not finishing my dress until 3 days before my wedding, left me in tears multiple times not knowing if my dress would fit or if it would be done in time. On top of all of that, each and every time I had an appointment, I would have to wait 30 minutes to an hour to be seen. Sandra G's has a serious issue with time management and overextending themselves. In the end, my dress still wasn't right and it's quite obvious in photos. read more

I will NEVER be a client of Sandra's again! I took my dress to her on March 13, 2015 with plenty of time for her to get the dress done before my wedding on May 30, 2015. When the first fitting was over I scheduled the next fitting up front for April 24, 2015. I was so excited for my fitting to see how my dress was turning out until they called me the night before my fitting to tell me that my dress would not be done, when asked when they could get me in since I am a college student and cannot come to Knoxville at the drop of a hat she told me that she just really didn't even know what to tell me that I would have to figure it out myself. When I rescheduled the appointment for May 1, 2015 I told them that my sister and mom would also be coming in to get their second fitting done. They had no idea where their dresses were or what they looked like so that they would have them ready. After this horrible phone call I decided not to stress since I was going to get to go in a week to the fitting. On my way to my fitting on May 1st they called me 30 minutes before my fitting and told me that my dress was not ready and it would not be ready for a couple of days, I was pulling into their parking lot at this time! While in the shop I found out that they had a bride in there that was trying to get her dress finished and her wedding was in 5 days and they still were not done, and many other countless brides that had been there for many hours trying to get their gowns! Seeing all of these brides and the lack of responsibility that was put forth for my dress was the last straw for me! I took my dress to a different alterations place that was very helpful! And to top it all off I did not receive a sorry for the inconvenience or anything! All of the things that I was put through for my dress alterations was very unprofessional and unacceptable! read more

I'm only putting one star because Google won't allow me to put nothing. This was by far the WORST experience I had throughout my entire wedding. I'm really unsure of how this woman has ANY good reviews. Everyone I've spoken with in person feels the same way I do -- So I'm fairly certain these are all paid reviews. Let me tell you about my experience... At the first fitting for my dress the ladies were very unprofessional. Made some very off the wall jokes and I was uncomfortable but I figured who care what their personality is like, they have great reviews! At the end of the appointment she told me to schedule to come back and pick the dress up (this means it should be done right?) So I arrange for my maid of honor who has a busy schedule to be able to be at this appointment to see how the bustle is done, etc. Second appointment. Wait for 45 minutes past appointment time. The dress still has pins in it when I walk in the room. Wait? Shouldn't this be done... I thought this was the final fitting. I'm getting married in two weeks. At the end of the appointment she says, make one more appointment to come back and pick up the dress... Third appointment: Dress is not steamed. Come back and pick it up in a few days she says... Two days before my wedding: I pick up the dress. It is already bagged and I am good to go (sigh of relief... it is over) WEDDING DAY: CORESET LACE UP RIBBON IS NOT INCLUDED WITH THE DRESS!!!!!!! I am at my wedding venue getting ready for my wedding and the ribbon is not in the bag that Sandra gave me. I call her and she says that she will be right there with the ribbon. An hour and a half later there is still no ribbon. I called multiple times and even texted her and she never returned my call. DO NOT USE THIS LADY! Beyond unprofessional and unorganized. Trust me, weddings are stressful enough - save yourself the trouble and choose someone reliable. read more

Our experience with Sandra G's was a nightmare. After multiple reschedulings and drives from Morristown, shoddy work and misplaced merchandise, and a blood stain on the lace when she pricked her finger, we finally made it to what was supposed to be a final fitting to make sure it was ready to be cleaned and pressed. We arrived only to find out that Sandra was not back from a trip and the dress was not even close to being finished. Oh yeah, this was a Wednesday night and the wedding was coming up on Saturday. We had no assurances she could finish the dress since she was nowhere to be found so we took it to a friend in Morristown to fix it. We even had to use Wedding Wonderland's sample dress to piece together the lace that was missing from what looked like a 12-yr-old's sewing experiment. What we got from Sandra G was a lot of stress, extra cost, and my daughter's tears...a father's nightmare. If not for the our friend's tireless efforts over the next 2 days (and nights) our daughter's wedding would likely have been ruined. Now, after Sandra G agreed, last week, to pay for the cost of repairing the dress, she backed out and takes no responsibility because we didn't give her a chance to repair the dress. Come on, it was after 7pm on Wednesday night and she wasn't back from Philadelphia...would you trust her to get it finished? She came highly recommended but failed miserably on this one. read more
