I went to Sandy Springs Dental Wed 04/22/2026) for a 9:30 appointment. I found out that Dr. Stover recently sold her dental practice but still works there part time with another "Indian" or "Arab" dentist who did a good job on my oral exam. Very efficient and professional. My only complaint was that under the Dr. Stover ownership (for the past 9 years) I was never late being waited on, however, I was about 23 minutes late before the hygienist could see me. I didn't like that. The hygienist was very good and gentle and worked efficiently. All of the other staff I met were very nice also. One young lady even complimented me on my cologne (Sandalwood). I'm a retired law professor who attended Harvard Law for a short time with Barack Obama. I do not recommend this practice. I suffered an injury after a tooth procedure. I received limited communication from the office manager named Kelly and the doctor that did my procedure never called me to follow up on my concerns nor addressed my concerns. I had to pay out of pocket to see another dentist at another office. Highly disappointed in the service I received here. Sandy Springs Dental dropped our insurance plan (is no longer in network with United Concordia) without informing us (despite asking at every visit if our insurance has changed.) I went here for years and Dr. Stover does not pay attention to detail. I lost a tooth that I had been complaining about because her wait and see attitude. We'll see it's to late if she would have sent me to an endodontist right away I would still have my tooth. This is costing me thousands of dollars not to mention emotional distress. The front desk staff are always friendly, the dental hygienist are thorough and knowledgeable, and Dr. Stoever is the best in the business. She creates very detailed treatment plans that she goes over each visit even if there aren't any changes and she is never pushy which really makes her stand out in comparison to other dentist's. read more

I tried to get an appointment five months in advance. No room. I didn't want a particular day. Just a particular MONTH. No room. She just has way too many patients to provide quality care. I talked to the doctor. No apology. No contrition. We are too busy and understaffed, that is the way it will be. I told her I had to change practices. For all intents, she told me not to let the door hit me on the way out. I was shocked at the attitude I got. I have been seeing her for over five years. This is an entirely new problem. I have been coming here for 10 years. They fight for me with my insurance to try to get them to cover more than what they initially will. The hygienists are all so kind and helpful. I have had a breast cancer battle and they work around my schedule and ask me about my health when I come in. They remember personal things like my kids and ask me about them. They are fast, courteous, kind and empathetic. As you can imagine, my teeth are not in great shape but Dr Stoever is constantly coming up with new things that will help. I have really had a great experience. Dr Stoever is knowledgeable, kind, empathetic, friendly and quick to fit me in when I need help. As you can probably tell from previous reviews, the only issues people have had is when they are hearing news they don't want to hear. No one wants to be told they need their wisdom teeth removed or their tooth extracted. That's not the dentist's fault, just like it's not your fault that you need wisdom teeth removed. This is the very definition of don't shoot the messenger. If you are looking for an honest yet empathetic dentist, this is the place for you! read more

I recently moved to the area and consider myself lucky to have found this dentistry. The receptionist was happy and nice, and my hygienist Jennifer was amazing. She was so thorough and spent time answering all of my questions and concerns. The dentist took her time looking at my teeth and then pulled up my x rays to show me some areas that need to be watched. The dentist was honest and didn't try to tell me I had cavities that needed work immediately. She suggested we keep an eye on things and if they get worse or I start to feel sensitivity then we can fill the cavities. I will 100% be going back to this facility for all of my dentistry needs! read more

I recently switched to Dr Stoever because my previous dentist was no longer considered in-network. For the most part, my experience was great. Pros: - Office is clean, plenty of parking in their lot - Courteous staff members - Thorough cleanings that don't feel rushed Cons: - Slightly longer wait time than I expected, but probably because I'm a new patient - Cleaning was longer than expected, but again, because I'm new and they're mapping my gums. - Scheduling had to be at least 2-3 weeks out - but this is because they have time slots for new patients. I don't want to give this place 5 stars too soon especially after my first visit, so I'll definitely update once I go back for another cleaning and exam. Nevertheless, I'm impressed so far. I recently had to find a new dentist and Dr. Stoever came highly recommended. The whole clinic is awesome including the hygienists- they were very thorough on my initial appointment with both x-rays and the cleaning. I had also been having some jaw pain and Dr. Stoever didn't try to upsell me or anything, she recommended I take magnesium as a first step before moving forward with any additional treatment. Not only has the magnesium helped but I really appreciate that they didn't try to pressure me to pay for additional services that I didn't need. I absolutely trust them, as does my whole family we all go here now! Their office is located in more of an office looking building so don't be confused when you pull in- there isn't a lot of signage so I recommend just putting it in your GPS it took me right there. This little dental office is tucked into a shopping center near Lowes and across from Whole Foods on Roswell Rd. I could not be happier. When I first visited Dr. Christina Stoever's practice about 2 years ago, I had not been to a dentist in almost 15 years, no insurance. My how things have changed over the years! The front office staff is very friendly as are all the hygienists. I think I've had a different one for each cleaning, but each one has been friendly and competent. It's not a large office, but it is very clean and very modern. You have your own tv to watch as you are worked on, which is nice. I recommended this place to a friend who need some intense work done, but was very worried about pain. She said her experience was great and that she felt absolutely nothing during her procedures. Dr. Stoever is young and is definitely keeping up with the times when it comes to dental care, no archaic tools used here! The office staff has handled all my insurance work perfectly and I've had no issues. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a new dentist or that has avoided going because of fear...this place will put you at ease. read more

I love Dr. Stoever and her team! They are just fabulous. They are very thorough and proactive in helping me keep healthy teeth (let's be honest, I drink way too much coffee). I had Amy as my hygienist in the spring, who is so sweet and explains everything going on. This time I had Andrea, who is also super sweet and thorough! Wish I grabbed the name of the woman who does handles billing and payment. She was super cheerful and helpful. They can also fit me in at 7:30 a.m. so I don't need to take a lot of time from work. I went to Sandy Springs Dental for a cleaning. While Dr. Stoever and my hygienist were very kind and knowledgeable, I will not return. Every interaction I had with the receptionist -Meliisa-was negative. She is abrasive, cold and needs to learn to treat patients with dignity. I called several times with requests for Dr. Stoever to call me, as I had questions regarding my treatment. I never heard back. I can only guess that the receptionist didn't give her my messages. I learned my lesson and found a new dentist with a nicer receptionist. read more

Dr. Stoever is an incredibly competent and patient dentist with an excellent bedside manner. I've been a patient in her practice for over three years, at first with no insurance and an emergency, which Dr. Stoever was able to help me resolve immediately. The issues I had with my teeth, I was able to discuss with the hygienist and dentist and they clarified everything I needed to know. I was terrified of the dentist based on previous bad experiences but Dr Stoever and staff were very friendly and helped ease my phobia. I have had a lot of dental work at this office including two crowns and cavity fillings and so far all is good! Now when I visit them it's like going to see friends and we have a lot of laughs and catch up on how our families are doing. I love this office and I'm thankful that it's conveniently located down the street from my job, however the traffic and construction on Roswell isn't too pleasant. Went to Sandy Springs Dental for a while because of all the high reviews we had seen online. Overall we felt the office staff and hygienists to be cold in nature and did not seem genuinely concerned with the patient. The dentist, Dr. Stoever, was pretty much the same. Not a lot of bedside manner, and we only saw her for a couple of minutes. And, they are expensive. Basically I think we were misled because this practice was not for us. We don't have thousands of dollars to throw away getting unnecessary cosmetic procedures done just for the heck of it that they say are mandatory. Kind of made us feel bad about our mouths. They also won't do too much in one appointment - In my husband's first appt, all they took were X-rays and said they were out of time! So they make you keep on coming back and coming back, ultimately paying more and having to take more time off work. They also try to push products on you, like a special toothbrush for receding gums, special prescription mouthwash, and other doctor friends of theirs who do procedures they don't. All of that adds up. Thankfully we found a good, old-fashioned, conservative dentist in the Marietta area, which is a bit of a drive, but worth it. He told me I had great teeth, with just a couple problem cavities (that SS was supposed to have covered with some high tech white cavity filling - ha), while as Sandy Springs had a near breakdown when they examined me, they thought my teeth were so horrible! All in all, I would not recommend the practice, reviews aside, because they are money-grabbers with not a lot of compassion or genuine care. read more

Been going to this dentist for years. I have had no problems. The staff seems nice and Dr. Stoever is very friendly and warm. They also never push unnecessary treatment on me like the previous place I used to go to (I told them point blank, if its not covered by my insurance, don't bother and they seem to back off because of that). They do, however, seem to have a high turnover of dental hygienists and assistants - so I don't know what's up with that. I never have seen the same one in my time there and I used to go there at least twice a year. Their location also leaves a lot to be desired (Roswell Road traffic is a nightmare). All in all, it's a decent dental office. Nothing to write home about, but good for your basic cleaning and checkup. read more

This place is really horrible! I was actually referred to go here. I had a problem with my tooth and made an appointment. The clerk told me that I would have a complete examination including X-Rays. I repeatedly asked if it was covered by my insurance, and she emphatically said yes ( I would pay a co-pay). After the examination, The dentist made it sound like my teeth were horribly rotten and she pushed a medication used in deep cleaning. She didn't want to touch the tooth which was bothering me. I declined to have the work done (most of it not covered by my insurance). Later I received a bill in the mail. Apparently the tests were not covered by my insurance. By the way, my tooth still hurts. Avoid this clinic!! read more

They put a crown on a tooth that should have been a root canal or extraction. Because of the pain, I had to take 3200mg ibuprofen a day for 10 days straight (800mg every 6 hours). This caused a problem with my stomach (specifically gastritis) which required an EGD to diagnose. The total cost of the EGD ran more than $10k with me having to pay close to $3k out of pocket. The sole cause was the ibuprofen consumption related to this dental work. When they initially put the crown on, they used temporary glue even though I asked them to use the stronger stuff. They told me if it came off that they wouldn't charge me to put it back on. Sure enough after a couple months it came off and nearly chipped another tooth in the process. They put it back on, said they used the stronger glue and billed me even though they said they wouldn't. Now 9 months later the crown has fallen off again and I need to find a new dentist because I don't trust these people. They have caused me too much pain and cost me way too much money to continue with them. read more

I used to be a big fan of this office and Dr. Stover. I've been a patient over nine years. Recently, I've had my last straw with them and I've decided to find a new dentist. I feel like this office now only cares about getting money and performing procedures that won't be covered by insurance instead of thinking outside of the box. They used to be very helpful now all they push is procedures that will cost extra money. No thank you I will take my business elsewhere. It is a shame that I have wasted 9 years going to this dentist. They told me months ago that a dental procedure was going to be covered by my insurance. They said that they called my insurance and even gave me a written estimate. When it was time to get the procedure done they said that I will have to pay out-of-pocket and that my insurance won't cover it. When I showed dr. Stover the quote that they gave me she said it didn't matter. Huh? I'm confused. I have it in writing that you you said it would be covered and that you spoke with my insurance. Why all the sudden do I have to pay out-of-pocket? read more
