Oakwood Inn and Motel - This is the only photo of the room I took, 2 queen beds. So comfortable!

Oakwood Inn and Motel

I'd never stayed in a motel before and I was expecting something dingy and dark, but the room was actually nicer than most chain hotels I've stayed in! The hardwood floor was beautiful, there was a nice tv, and the bathroom was also very clean. I would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend if you're visiting Sanford!

Don't get me wrong--Sanford, Maine isn't exactly a booming metropolis with high-end dining, shops,…read moreand luxury hotels. So I didn't expect much from the Oakwood. And I did not get much, either. The staff at the Oakwood were very pleasant, which is something that I DO expect from Sanford, Maine. We checked in on a Tuesday night the week of Christmas and were given the keys to Room 110--supposedly the private honeymoon suite in the second building. It left much to be desired. There was a fridge and microwave, as well as a flat screen TV with cable. After that, it was pretty dismal. The best was nothing special, the furniture was massively dated, and the bathroom was unnecessarily huge. The shower was built for folks 5'3" and under. I felt like Andre the Giant. And those tin ceilings they claim are cheap plastic, and the ones in the bathroom were warped. But the biggest gripe about the room was the cleanliness, or lack thereof. The carpeted floors felt gritty with dirt. And our small beagle (kudos to allowing pets, BTW) spent the first 15 minutes sniffing around the room, licking the floor and finding whatever "ground candy" was left behind--under tables, under the radiators, around the fridge. The staff came and cleaned the room on the second day (we used the DND sign the first day) and made the bed and brought new towels in. If they vacuumed, I sure as hell couldn't tell, as the grittiness lingered in the carpets. Also, they need to replace the caulking in the shower--it was jet black with whatever mold and grime has built up. Heinous. We were there for 4 nights, and the total was ~$290. i feel like that was about $90 too much. I'll search for other options the next time I am in Sanford.

The Lincoln Hotel - Lobby Christmas decorations

This is a 4.45 star review, but I have no qualms about moving it up to five, as the deductions are…read moreextremely small, and will not take away from the overall experience. The hotel is gorgeous. You walk in and think this is the luxury I've been looking for all my life. Brianna was amazing, welcomed us in with prosecco, Saratoga sparkling water, and a smile showing that she was excited to see us and super kind! Quick check-in, perfect parking, and then went up to the room, which was gorgeous, all of the elements in the room, as well as the lobby gave great wow factor and intentional decor decision-making. Stellar, exactly what you want to see when you're on vacation! There is a cute bar in the lobby, we never went downstairs to the restaurant, but that also looked very nice, and the Spinning Jenny breakfast/coffee shop was absolutely outstanding. Highly recommend! Now, for the quick deductions, they were minimal in nature, the TV only had some live channels from spectrum, in 2026, I would expect streaming options, but there were none. Nor could you even connect your own streaming. Second, late checkout was an additional $75. Again for a luxury hotel, in which you're already paying a premium, it simply did not make sense to me. Third, the bed was oddly misshapen, and created a pile up on one side because of a weight disparity, which was pretty uncomfortable. Le Labo, as a toiletry option is sensational, and we loved it, however, the minis that were expected to provide shampoo, conditioner, and body gel for everyone in the room did not feel enough, and it feels a little uncomfortable to ask for more, so perhaps the larger refillable containers in the bathroom in the room may eliminate that issue. Lastly, and it was minimal interaction so maybe not the biggest deal, but the woman who checked us out today, (she had a British accent), just felt marginally kind. Everyone else went above and beyond, from the bartender to the coffee shop man to Brianna, and I think Laura(Trisha??) may have been the second girls's name, regardless, all of them were extremely invested in our happiness, the British woman this morning not so much. Highly recommend this place, we will be back!

Thanks for ruining a nice Mother's Day out with my son. At 2:00 pm my son and I went to the Lincoln…read moreso I could get a nice fancy drink and we could hang out in their nice comfy chairs and lounge area. There were only two other people in the lounge at the time. I was told that no where's in the lounge (which is big) could my 8 year old son be. When I commented that it didn't say 21+ anywheres and this was a hotel lobby / lounge they repeated that it's a rule that kids are not allowed even if they aren't sitting in the bar. It was also Mother's Day and as a single mom I had been looking forward to a nice afternoon here with my son. My son felt horrible as he had known I really wanted to go there and even said "I can wait in the car while you spend time in there so I don't ruin Mother's Day." We immediately left as he didn't ruin the day but the Lincoln hotel did. I highly recommend anyone with kids stay away as clearly I thought this was a family friendly place and it's not.

Quality Inn - Blood Stain on sheet!

Quality Inn

Location was ideal for what we needed - that is where the joyful experience ends…read more We arrived to the room late, the floor was sticky upon entering the room - we were wiping the floor with Chlorox wipes and they were very grimy after doing so. The bed covers were ripped and stained - we took them off and put them on the floor in the corner to find the sheets and pillows were stained. The outlets on the TV stand/desk did not work which was an inconvenience because we needed to work at the desk. At times the TV would stop working with a message that the signal was not available - after asking about it at the desk, we were told it was a known issue specifically when it was cloudy (the skies were mostly clear). The grout in the bathroom was very dirty and needs a good bleaching. Shower curtain rod is pulling away from the wall and is rusty, water pressure was minimal at the sink and it took a while to get hot water. The bathtub clearly has a significant crack and has been covered with a rubberized mat. The most bothersome part of the stay was the amount of cigarette and marijuana smoke that was entering the room through the air conditioning vent and bathroom vent. I took pictures of the amount of cigarettes on the ground outside our window. I don't have a problem with smoking, I have an issue when people aren't using the designated spots and all of our belongings now smell stale. When I shared it with the staff about the smoke we were told that it would be looked into and the vents would be checked. I kindly mentioned that it may need to be a broader conversation with the smoking guests to have courtesy for other guests. This place is not a $200 per night place - $100 per night would be pushing it. It's an insult to the Choice Hotel brand and should have "Quality" removed from the name.

Accommodating, helpful and very friendly staff. We bought some fresh oysters down east but hadn't thought of the oyster knife. Asked the manager if, by chance we could possibly borrow an oyster knife? Well, due to liability issues, they would not allow me to borrow the knife but offered to have the chef shuck them for us (after signing a waiver!.....I hate where our country is, but totally understand!). We listened to live piano to relax us during a raining and "trafficy" day driving from down east and Acadia national park. Just one mile down the road from Walker's point (The Bush compound) I was really hoping that we might run into 'W' and Mrs. but to no avail. The room was well appointed and a corner room with beautiful views of the chanel. Picture commercial lobster boats moored at bouys as the tides rise and fall with the hours going by. A rainy day to start lead to clear skies and a beautiful bluebird sky with white puffy clouds to accent. Breakfast buffet included in the stay along with free bikes to use as guest made our stay complete. I only wish we had more time to spend here at the resort! Huge thanks for making our stay complete and fabulous!! Cheers to you all. Oh, I almost forgot, they have a shuttle that runs out to dock square every half hour. What a blessing.

The customer service, cleanliness, attentiveness and responsiveness to our needs and requests was top notch! The rooms were clean and spacious, the food was excellent, and the over-all atmosphere was warm and inviting. There were activities on site for the kids, they played soccer in the open area, as well as sat by the fire pits in the evenings. There was a floating sauna, lobster boat, kayaks, and bikes that could be used around the area. Shuttle service was also offered to take people into town and back which was a nice bonus. Housekeeping was great and can I say the towels were so soft! I can't say enough good things and would highly recommend this resort! Thank you to the Nonantum team for taking such great care of our group!
