Love this place! Fantastic brunch menu - the vibes are amazing and the mimosas are delicious. Walter, Juan, and Maria are all amazing and very hospitable. I usually order the avocado toast or the steak and eggs, and they are both delicious. Do not stray away from those two in my opinion - they are just too good. I have been here on numerous occasions during brunch and it is the number 1 spot in the area.. HANDS DOWN As i mentioned, they are all great but Juan is the absolute best host. He is so fun and lively that he makes the experience 10 million times better. I legit kept coming to this place specifically because of Juan. Had a great dinner at Sangarita's on Bell Blvd last night. First and foremost, the staff is attentive and warm and it's a fun ambiance when you factor in the music playing in the background. For drinks we had a couple tequila based drinks before moving onto pina coladas. The drinks were tasty and well mixed plus they offered elevated/non-house tequila upgrades at no charge. Food wise we made our way through the tapas: hummus & octopus, chimmi sliders, chorizo, garlic shrimp and potatoes bravas. The octopus was well done - nicely grilled and flavorful. The hummus was outstanding. Didn't expect it to be so delicious. The sliders were a rockstar dish - highly recommend. The meat was tender, well seasoned and their house sauce was delicious. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy inside - exactly as I hoped. Chorizo was nicely spiced and the wine sauce was a solid accompaniment. The garlic shrimp was last in my opinion as it was missing some salt and seasoning; the only of the five dishes I wouldn't recommend. All in all, a very solid dining experience. read more

Came here with friends on a busy Saturday night. Lucky we came early (6:30pm) ... Didn't hurt to have a reservation either. The restaurant looks small from the front door but it opens up a bit once you pass the bar. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive to my group of 8. I think we ordered almost every Tapas on the menu, no joke! The Sangria was flowing and we were hungry. The red Sangria was no doubt more popular than the white. The white tasted a bit watered down vs the red. But both had plenty of fruit to boot. The stand out tapas that was great for sharing: Charcuterie, grilled octopus, wings and the beef sliders. We ordered the pork sliders too (looked more like a cubano than a slider) but it was not quite there with the combination of flavors as a real cubano would have. The most memorable dish (I wish I didn't have to share) were the mussels. We ordered both the red and white sauce - both were equally excellent. My friends and I couldn't get enough. The white sauce was actually my favorite even though we all agreed to order the red first. So on our second round we chose the white. The sauces were so good that we used any bread or chips on the table just to soak it all up - don't waste it. We did order two entrees to cap off the tasting menu. Hands down, the Grilled Churrasco (skirt steak) was the best. Meat was tender and the chimichurri sauce was on point. Everyone couldn't get enough of this. The other entrée we had was the Pork Medallion Relleno. The pork was a bit dry compared to the steak but it's also cooked differently so that made the difference. I would recommend the steak for sure. All in all a good time. BTW, there's a Sunday dinner special (at least when we were here in July '17), all you can eat tapas for $24.95 pp. It is a great deal indeed. read more

This is probably the best restaurant in Bayside. My wife live nearby and I dine here regularly. We have sampled most of the menu. The food is Spanish and Latin American, with both smaller plates (tapas), entrees, and a selection of paellas. It's all very good. We often make a meal of the tapas or order a few and then split an entree. Our favorite entree is the bandeja paisa. The mussels in white wine with Spanish chorizo is also excellent. Sangaritas also serves great drinks and cocktails. As you might expect, they have a variety of sangrias, mojitos, and margaritas, along with their signature sangarita (frozen margarita and sangria in layers). They also make a great martini and have a nice selection of Spanish and South American wines. Perhaps the best thing about this restaurant is the service. The owner and employees are always warm, welcoming, and friendly. Everyone is treated with respect. Service is prompt and the food arrives quickly. The ambiance is relaxing with Latin American music and sports on the TVs. There is seating on the sidewalk outside. Seating inside includes two-tops around the bar and larger tables in the back. They also have a party room downstairs that can be rented for events, along with a catering menu. Don't leave without trying the flan. Overall, I recommend highly. read more

Had reservations for brunch on a Sunday around 2pm. We were seated immediately. Food was amazing and very generous portion. I had the burger which absolutely huge. Massive patty with lettuce, onion, tomato and guacamole and a chipotle sauce. It was supposed to come with a fried egg but it came to the table without it, I'm not much of a complainer so I didn't mention it. Friends go the chicken flat bread, steak and eggs and the waffle. We had no complaints with the food. Couldn't give 5 stars because of the boozy part. We had until 3:30 and we only had one drink each because the server did not come back to refill the drinks until 3:30 on the dot. He said one more round and that's it. This place is amazing. Mr Juan was very accommodating to our party of 11 for my friends birthday. Besides his wonderful hospitality, the food was out of this world. I highly recommend the Paella , as well as anything on the menu. We ordered a few pitches of margaritas, 5 Paellas and a ton of Tapas and the food was out so fast. This man knows what he is doing. I was excited for dinner. Came here for the first time pre-pandemic. I remembered the food was good and the restaurant was a bit on the noisy side. The service was 5 star, the food was 3.75, my sangria was 2.5. We had the squid and it was delicious. The pork belly was good. The seafood paella was way too greasy. The sangria tasted old and the fruit tasted borderline rotting. One would think that the sangria would be good here. It was noisy, but it is the nature of the setup. read more

Met up with a couple of teacher friends and went here after work on a Friday. Even though they didn't officially open till 4:30, Juan let us come in 20 minutes early. We spent about 3 hours here eating and drinking. Cocktails were delicious and the food was unbelievably amazing. I especially enjoyed the potato and ham balls. The beef empanada was also perfection. A friend and I went there during their Taco Tuesdays (an order of taco is $5 for 2 tacos), which tasted fine. The margaritas were good as well. There was an error with the payment, and we sent the check back, and it was taken care of. When it came to tipping, we wanted to give a 18% in cash, but was a little short, so we used the coins we had to make it to the 18%. The manager came and told us that they do not accept coins, and had a nasty attitude towards us. The food and drinks were decent, but that attitude from the manager ruined our whole night. Money is money, it shouldn't matter in which form it is given. Will not be going back; there are plenty of other restaurants in the block. read more

My husband and I had dinner here on a Tuesday. We were seated immediately with a warm welcome. Juan was very friendly. He listened to my concern with high sugar content and made me a very refreshing skinny margarita. Dinner was delicious... for tapas, we had the stuffed mushrooms, grilled calamari, garlic shrimp and crunchy pork belly. Seafood were fresh and cooked to perfection. Pork belly is a bit dried but still yummy. Last but not least we also had the squid ink seafood paella. One of the best squid ink dish I've ever had. We came on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy, the ambiance is beautiful and the food is just amazing! 10/10. We got the Pollo Al Ajillo and Paella De Mariscos! The only thing missing was bread to mop up the flavorful garlicky juices. Chicharron Sangaritas: Crispy, juicy and so flavorsome. Cauliflower Al Catalan: The cauliflowers had a light coating and was a little mushy. This tapa was very simple but tasty. Paella Negra: This was the winner of the night. I remember trying the Paella Negra at Socarrot and not enjoying it, so I was a little nervous when my friend suggested we order it here. What a great decision! Called in hour before for a reservation request and they did not give me hard time using my restaurant.com gift certificate.We were welcome cheerfully by Juan, our wait staff for the evening. My daughter and I came for two reasons- mother/daughter bonding and to try this newly open tapas and wine bar in this neighborhood. The night has just starting so it was not crowded yet especially on a midweek when we arrived. We got a decent seat. The place is cute, has nice and comfortable settings . Their cocktail drinks menu board is posted by the wall where we were seated. I see it as an accent also to the place. We were checked on often during the entire dining. It was few minutes past happy hour so we paid for the regular price for our sangria ($8), besides, happy hour price is one of the voucher limitations. My daughter had white peach and I got the apricot. I find my drinks with more alcohol content comparably to other tapas and wine bar I'd been. We ordered fried calamari ($12), tuna tartere( $15) and Cuban sliders ($11) for our tapas. Each one has compatible sides included. It was delicious, filling and has good serving size. If they are trying to make good impression for us to come back , well, they did not fail. Being new in the business, it is the best move that they could provide. Pricing is standard, the location is along the Bell Blvd strip, if you have trouble looking for a parking spot-there is a nearby municipal parking, if you are commuting- it is not far from LIRR station. Came here last Friday 12/18/15 with my friend for happy hour. So we wanted to sit at the table but happy hour was only offered at the bar. We were there pretty early, like about 6, so there was still seating at the bar. Waitress was very nice and friendly. She is defiantly into making speciality drinks which is cool. We sampled 5 Sangrias. I ended up choosing the white. Had some Plantains. I would like to come back and try the other food options they offer. I asked a couple next to me how was the food. And they both agreed it was good and definitely worth trying. The atmosphere is really nice and decor is pretty and elegant. The good things about this place: the food, the alcohol, and the friendly wait staff. The wait staff was very helpful in suggesting how much and what to order, since we weren't sure how much was enough for 4 people. The sangria was nice and light, as my party ordered the white peach and the lychee flavors. The food was delicious! Had the croquetas de jamon, roasted cauliflower, grilled calamari with hummus, stuffed mushrooms, and chicharron. These 5 tapas dishes were enough to set the table for the main course. The paella (with chicken and calamari) was flavorful and very saucy. It was enough for 4, leaving everyone with a full belly. Though I had to leave room for dessert, the flan and affagato were ordered. It was enough to seal the deal to a good meal! The bad, nothing of their own fault, but parking is tough, and just give yourself time to make it there if you have a reservation. The noise level is kind of loud, so don't expect to be able to whisper to the person across from you, though it gave a good vibe to the restaurant with everyone talking and laughing in the background. Very mediocre food and I was pretty disappointed. The actual sangria was alright. We liked the passion fruit more than the classic red. I felt like it could've been stronger. Service was good though. The croquetas de mar were very bland and I didn't taste any seafood in it, just a lot of filler. The chimi sliders and chicharron were the only good things we got. The chicharron was salty and crispy the way it should be made. I thought the chimi sliders would have actual steak in it but it was a hamburger patty. Fajitas, churrasco and salmon entrees were pretty bland. The inside decor could also use some love. read more

Juancho, the bartender is very welcoming, from the first day I visited Sangarita's, it was inviting to get served with a smile... every single I drink I have ordered is always perfect and Juancho always has good suggestions when I'm not sure what I want. The manager Joshua is full of energy and always takes the time to answer your questions about the menu and so do the other employees...Everything on the menu is delicious but my favorite dish is their grilled salmon with this addictive garlic sauce.... that comes with whatever side that's on the menu!!! Went to Sangarita's for some drinks to go yesterday afternoon. No one was wearing a mask inside the restaurant, including the staff. The bartender was not wearing a mask, and was continuously chatting with someone (presumably his friend) who was just hanging out at the bar... all while making my drinks. Given the times, this made me really uncomfortable to watch him talk over my drinks. While he was making my drinks, the bartender kept licking his fingers/hands whenever some juice would get on them -- and not wipe or wash his hands afterward. Even during normal times, this would be considered unsanitary. During a pandemic... this is pretty egregious. By the time he handed me my drinks, I felt extremely uneasy. I love Sangaritas, I've been coming for years. I want to be clear, this was a bartender I have never seen before. When I come, Juan always takes good care of me and has always taken been great -- this was not him. It pains me to leave a negative review about a restaurant I love, but I felt I had to say something so people know what to expect and so hopefully the restaurant can do better. I was disappointed by my experience yesterday and I wish the staff took steps to protect my health, and public health as a whole. But instead I walked out with drinks that may have had the bartender's saliva droplets in it, and his fingers that he licked were for sure all over the outside of the cups.
