Very Unprofessional which the lady even stated "we don't have any professionals working here". Boss is out of town and all of a sudden all professionalism goes out the window? I honestly had the wrong time for my appointment which is fine. The problem is that I know people that go here and was told they get reminders/courtesy texts. Why didn't I get one like everyone else? "We waited 30 min for you" so why didn't I receive a call? Have I ever done a no show? I'm not a new client. The lady (short, light Hair, glasses) was rude and no help on trying to reschedule/accommodate which tells me this is simply a business that doesn't care to keep me as a client. I am one that constantly raves about this place but that will end today. I will definitely let people especially those that look like me to spend their money elsewhere at a business that truly cares about their clients. read more

I love this place. I've been going here for years now and here's why. 1. Agreeing with the reviewer below, this place is a hidden gem. Sanly takes a holistic approach, showing how my diet or stress affects my face. 2. Service, while it might not have that polished corporate feel, is very welcoming and timely. I always feel at home whenever I go. 3. I've been going for years, and as I've received treatments from her as well as followed her advice, adjusted my lifestyle to make healthier choices for myself, my face has over time, become much better, clearer. I used to have an acne problem. But going through regular visits to Sanly, as well as cutting back on a dining out diet and taking steps to reduce stress, my acne has not only gone away, BUT Sanly has done an AWESOME job with really minimizing, reducing and practically making the scars on my face disappear! 4. I'm an asian woman so she knows how to handle an asian face. I don't know if its because I'm asian, but many people still comment that I look very young for my age though I am now approaching my 30s. Rest assured though I do see a lot of non-asian customers when I go and i can tell it's really catching on. 5. This place is hard to find in a non-descript two-three floor old brick building, the parking is avaialable on main street. The services are expensive for the state of repair and look of the place, and three individuals serviced me although the only thing I signed up for was a facial. The owner is a certified esthetician, and she has two assistants who are younger and very gentle but effective with their techniques. The facial, on the other hand, relies very heavily on ultrasound or electiricy-based doo-hicky that helps dig out impurities or helps products penetrate the dermis. My skin was a little raw, red, and dry the next day, and I noticed that most of my clogged pores had released, leaving some markings on my skin. I guess that's the price to pay for decongesting treatments. They upsold me on a series of six to improve the condition of my skin. Each facial is $110 (paid at the time of each service) and includes on of the products in her personally created line. The cleanser smells mediciney and is very small. It's a pump dispensed product that foams like a light mousse. It hasn't created any negative reactions. Their usual customers are from the Chinese and perhaps other Asian communities, they recently began promoting on SpaCity.com and therefore that's why I must have been their only caucasian customer. I am not terribly sold on this place yet, but I'm willing to give them another try in about 8 weeks. read more

If it's Doohickey, it's done right. Yes, it's a little dated, the studio. And one receptionist's English isn't totally Oxford, but so what. Everyone is kind and relaxed. And the facial I got made my skin look better than it's ever looked, even when I was doing all kinds of fasting and eating strange concoctions of foods. Sanly knows exactly what she's doing. Easy to chat with. And the products she used - made by her and her husband - smelled really good. Clearly they are of top quality too because, again, my skin was radiant. The place is in the least charming part of downtown Lisle. That weird building with no face smack dab between the Nook and Yerba Buena. Who knew it was even there until I booked an appointment with Sanly? "Downtown" right now is a little scarce on the businesses, what with the excellent John Dough closing up shop. You might expect to see the occasional tumbleweed blowing down Main St. Nice to know that not all excellent businesses are giving up the ghost in Lisle. I got a little bit of upselling but nothing uncomfortable, no pressure. I don't mind it when I get such incredible service as I did with Sanly. Also note that I think her website is down. She's got someone working to get it back online. But until that time, you can just call and book an appointment. And believe all of the great reviews here on Yelp. read more

I have never had a better massage or facial in my life. The ladies here are the nicest and they have made me feel so happy and comfortable. They genuinely care about me even if they just met me and didn't try to just sell me everything but advised me in what changes I need to make to my diet to better my thyroid problems. I got a facial here. The facial itself was fine. It cleared up some of my acne. However, the service wasn't great. The woman that was doing my facial left for over 15 minutes and during that time I heard her and another employee laughing in the back. That did not provide the most relaxing environment. Not the most professional either. I didn't go there to lay in a room with a face mask on and listen to two ladies laughing for 15-20 minutes. read more

I've had eyelash extensions a couple of times before elsewhere. It was always a long, tiresome, and uncomfortable experience. David did my eyelash extensions with care and gentleness. There's different quality lashes to choose from. But from my experience you're better off choosing quality over budget. It's a world of difference between comfort vs irritated eyes. David customized his technique toward my lash count, length, and texture so it'd still look natural but full on my sparse, barely there lashes. It feels great to go mascara free! read more

I've been going to Sanly for over 15 years -- her facials have significantly helped upkeep my skin's elasticity and clarity. I've been to other spas during vacations, and no other facials compare to her results. Every month, I look forward to her assistant's massage during the "mask" stage. I've also gotten my eyebrows tattooed, eyelashes permed (so they'd stay up without having to use eyeliner), and specialty body cleansing / facials. They recently hired someone that can do manicure/pedicare (if you request & pay for the service, of course) WHILE you get your facial. I've never tried it, but I'd love to save time & kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
