I can't say enough good things about this swim school. As an adult who struggled with real panic…read moreand fear in the water, I never thought I'd feel comfortable--let alone confident--swimming. But this experience completely changed that. A huge part of that is thanks to Kelly, the owner. She is incredibly patient, calm, and intuitive as a coach. She meets you exactly where you are, never rushes the process, and somehow knows exactly how to help you push past fear without feeling overwhelmed. The environment is supportive, encouraging, and completely judgment-free--something that makes all the difference when you're learning as an adult. If you've ever been hesitant or afraid of the water, I can honestly say this place can help you overcome it. Exceptional facility, outstanding coaches. Grateful doesn't even begin to cover it. Highly recommend.

Our coordinators, Nancy and Jimena were awesome too, always easy to reach and made sure the whole party ran smoothly without us having to stress. The kids had a blast, and as a parent it was so nice having lifeguards right there the whole time -- total peace of mind while the kids were swimming. Would definitely recommend this place for a fun, easy birthday party!

The front staff was very welcoming and helpful during our first lesson. I love that the pool is warmed. It made him entering the pool so much easier. The small free play area for before and after the lesson is amazing for a fun and continued water exposure. The lessons are only 20 minutes which is can be nice for younger learners but also a challenge when we are constantly having to build a relationship with a new teacher. We are enrolled in the semi private lessons (1 teacher 2 kids). The first lesson we had was with Jose. He did a great job going at my son's pace and getting him comfortable with the water and trying to build a rapport with him. Unfortunately the following week he was not available so we took a lesson with Fransisco. It took 15 of the 20 minutes for my son to warm up. Fransisco D firmly told me I need to be consistent and sign up for the same teacher every week. I had multiple cancellations before finally getting our third lesson which went well. Due to availability again I gave up being consistent with the teachers my son had met so far and signed up with Toni who had fantastic reviews only for her to cancel the morning of. I understand life happens but it's frustrating when Waterworks tells me I need to be consistent with teachers but makes it's difficult to do so. I'm hopeful that we will find a teacher who can be consistent for my son.

They are located in a residential neighborhood and the only downside is the parking. Naturally, the residents do not want people going to the school to park in front of their homes and tend to leave their garbage cans etc. out on the street so get there early to find parking. The club itself does not have onsite parking. I looked at their website and called them because I could seem to be able to create an account and Joe, who answered, was very helpful. It turned out that I needed to use a different browser. The price is $140/month with a $45 one time registration fee. There are no makeup classes, which is also a downside. The pool itself is clean, with instructors in every lane. There were 3 kids assigned to the instructor that day with a max of 4. The instructors were patient and knowledgeable. There was one point of contact who was evaluating the swimmers and providing instructions. There is plenty of space for parents to hang out during the half hour class or you can leave but they ask that you stay close in case of an emergency. There are showers and loaner swim goggles and caps. They are close to the Cabana Club pool.

We've been going to waterworks for a while now, and I'm finally getting to writing a review…read more First, the good. Both my kids see Erica, who is a great instructor. She's been fantastic about working on improving my kids' strokes so they are more efficient in the water, and my wife and I really like her. As for waterworks itself, it's very customer oriented in our experience and we've been quite happy. Where they lose a star with me has to do with a couple things. First, the curriculum is very much focused on the standard swim sport strokes. This is great through breast stroke, but I think there could be more focus on more practical and survival skills (notably, teaching side stroke, more emphasis on treading water, and survival floats). Second, the Sunnyvale location has had a lot of closures for various reasons. I acknowledge it's been out of WW's hands, but it's a drag to go all the way to the San Jose Bascom location (which is actually kinda awesome as there's a free play pool).

Both instructors have a wonderful way of encouraging my girls to overcome their fear of swimming while building their confidence in the water.
