The craft beer coolers deserve particular attention, because they house some rarities that are downright shocking to find in this region. My favorite find was Lazy Magnolia's Southern Pecan Ale. This terrific brown ale from Kiln, MS tends to be rarer than hen's teeth in Kentuckiana, and I've only caught it on draft a couple times. To see it casually hanging out in one of Old Tyme's coolers was a real treat. Other notable names on deck here include Lil Beaver (Bloomington, IL), Voodoo Brewing Co. (Meadville, PA), Rochester Mills (Rochester, MI), Fair State Co-op (Minneapolis, MN) and of course, plenty of standout breweries from across Indiana. My Reuben was generous, but I was a little confused: it was a standard Reuben, which is not a German sandwich, having been invented in Omaha NE. I had a German hefeweizen, which was as pleasant as expected. They have a decent selection of German-made and US beers.
