The rolls are delicious! That was the best fact. The manager seemed to have trouble and acted inconvenienced that we had a party of 9. It took forever to get appetizers such as chips and salsa. When we got the chips and salsa the chips were stale. Then it took forever to get our food. We sat in the restaurant over an hour and half. Steaks were underdone or over done on three plates. My daughter didn't like her chicken, so we got her some steak tips and the manager came and gave her meal for free, along with her next 2 kid meals for free. Our food was great. This was the best dining experience I had while in Ardmore, but I'm going to recommend that visitors stick with the steak. They really know how to make a mean stake at the Santa Fe Cattle Co, and it's for a decent price. I've also had ribs, chicken and sausage, which were part of the Cowboy Combo. The ribs and chicken were very average, and the sausage was slightly above average. The service here is excellent, but stick with the steak. You'll be happy you did. read more

Awesome place to eat! Just passing through and thought we would give it a try. My husband, son and I all had the sirloin and they were fantastic! Plenty of sides to choose from and we weren't disappointed with our choices either. Our server was awesome, and helpful, and since it was our first time visiting the manager/owner (not really sure who she was) gave us a free appetizer card for our next visit. From the mediocre reviews, maybe this place is hit or miss. All I know is that it was an "out of the park" hit when we were there! The chips and queso was amazing! Light, crisp, WARM chips and that queso was super! Steak was juicy and flavorful and the service was top-notch! I honestly cannot even say how many times our server came by to check on us, but we never emptied a glass. I, for one, will definitely be back when I pass this way again! read more

Wait staff was great-our server was very attentive and we did not have to wait long for anything. I had the "death burger"-really good with jalapenos and queso, it is a huge burger! Santa fe potatoes on side were pretty salty but OK. My husband had chicken fried steak which was good, however he thought the "steamed" vegetables were probably not steamed and were covered in butter. Manager saves the day! Our entire meal was comped and the food that we got was great. Our server was the worst ever! Our kids live here and wanted to go for our daughter in-laws birthday. Party of 8, two children. From the start our server was very confused. We were trying to give the benefit of doubt. Then we noticed the tables beside us were having the same issue with the server. He couldn't get the drinks correct and they were waters and tea, cups with lids for the kids. We got lots of rolls while waiting. The salads never came. 3 of 8 plates came first. The next two were completely wrong. The kids meals and order of fajitas arrived 12 min later after he came out of the kitchen 2 other times with it and Appeared to be completely lost. While waiting in the two orders to be re cooked he started trying to clear the table and asked one who still didn't have her food if she wanted a to go box. Half us is died out laughing, the manger was already involved at this point. We finally all got most of our food. One table already walked out, the other table 1/2 walked out. The manager started out with $50 off and as we explained the entire story comped the entire meal plus cheese cake for the birthday girl! read more

Horrible, never again! We have been wanting to go to this restaurant for a while, we love steak houses and this place looked really nice, we thought it would be like a Texas Roadhouse. We decided to go a few days ago, it was mid afternoon so it wasn't that full. We entered and the first thing my husband said was, this place looks dirty. They have peanuts and all the shells are on the floor. I understand thats "part" of the restaurant but I think at least once in a while it should be cleaned, its annoying getting them stuck on your shoes. We sat on a recently cleaned booth and their was still food stuck on the table and the seats were still wet. The waitress was super nice, but the food was horrible! The wings were so hard and so overcooked! It seemed like the wings were made earlier and they just put them back in the fryer to heat up. They were so gross. The salad was mediocre. The steak was so bland, it had no taste to it, and half was fat, not meat. I got the loaded mash potatoes as well, I just looked at it and just looked like it had been made hours earlier. Super cold, no taste and had a huge spoonful of butter on top. Which did not even melt. My husband had a bad experience as well with his food. He was so disappointed. This place is terrible. The food is below mediocre. It's always overcooked. I had one good thing there which was a porkchop. The service was bad, my drink rarely got refilled, and it's kind of pricey for the not so good food. There was one good thing and that was their roles. If it's not one thing, it's another with this place. Bad service, bad food and poor cooking technique. My steak has never been cooked to order...NEVER. One time I sent it back to be cooked some more (I ordered it rare and it was raw) and they didn't bother to put a new piece of meat on the grill....they put the meat that had been served to the customer back on the grill and cooked it with other people's fresh food?!?! It's obvious that this place operates on the cheap since they can't afford to use a fresh steak after a customer sends it back. The prices are rediculously high for the quality you get....if you ever get your food. I can't understand why this place is always packed...oh wait, maybe I can...Ardmore doesn't have many choices when it comes to food but this place has so much potential if they would just get their act together. This is the perfect place to take family or friends that you want to visit with for awhile. A place to go to when you are in no hurry at all. The atmosphere is nice and the birthday acknowledgement they do is awesome compared to most places. It always takes a really long time to get our food anytime I've went. I've never had problems with my orders that I can recall, it just seems to take a very long time to get your meal. The staff/servers are always friendly and have kept my drink full while waiting so that's a plus. They keep bringing fresh rolls as well. The chips and queso is a must have! It is thick and so full of flavor I could almost have it as a meal. I'm not much of a queso person either, I'm a salsa girl but this queso Mmmm. If you have time to spare and don't mind waiting for awhile definitely give it a try. Going earlier in the day may possibly cut the wait time down, I've always went later when it was busy so that could be affecting the wait time on my visits. I would not recommend I got the chicken fried steak and it was so burnt I could barely eat it and the service took about a hour and a half when it was practically empty my grandma got chicken and she said "it was so dry she could barely cut it with her knife"and the waitress only came to the table one or twice. read more

I would have given 5 stars if it hadn't been for the mess up but I have to say they fixed it and it was amazing! I ordered the 8oz filet medium rare and when I got it and cut into it I could tell right away it was rare and I touched it and it was still very cold in the middle. Now, normally I adore a rare steak but since I have infusions and no immune system I try to at least eat them warmed all the way through. I asked waitress to have them run it back through and she did and she even took off the appetizer we had. They did bring my husband mashed potatoes instead of a baked potato but fixed that also so all in all the experience wasn't to bad. Our waitress even with the kitchen mess ups was very delightful and apologetic and the food tasted great. So, even with all our mistakes , I am going to give them a 4 star because of the service. We were sitting in the bar area and I believe our waitress was the bartender also. I wish I remembered her name because if it hadn't been for her and her amazing service, I'm sure they would've probably ended with a 2 star rating no matter how good the food was. If you can't get what you order and your made to wait and wait especially when you both order one of the most expensive items on the menu, then yeah, your going to end up with low ratings. It's also going to cause your wait staff to suffer in tips. We on the other hand tipped 25% plus added the cost of the appetizer to the waitresses tip for being so kind and attentive. Managers, teach your cooks to check the orders before they go out. Will save a lot of issues. read more

Visiting Ardmore. Hotel recommended Santa Fe for steaks. We went and really enjoyed the experience and food. We felt really welcomed and our steaks were made to our specifications. I don't get the bad reviews. Everyone was friendly and prompt, from hostess to bartender to server. Food was very good, I had loaded quest and chips and ribeye, cooked correctly. 01-30-15 - was told that I couldn't sit in bar without reservation and that was from 1 of the 4 people that it seem to need taking down my name with a 3 after it. Been sitting in that area since they opened and never told that until last night. Told 15 minutes. No one was being seated, empty tables and booths everywhere. 30 minutes still no one seated. Finally told the cook was backed up - who was he cooking for?? Never got called for a table and my friend finally got us a table in the bar when someone got up. Got served at tall round tables while same people still in lobby.. Server was excellent, Salad and bake potato good but steak was grainy. Would have made any difference if we had called in 2 hours ahead of time for a reservation? Where were your managers? Why weren't they out talking to their waiting customers? Had to hear it from the poor waiter, he had plenty of time because all his customers were in the front lobby waiting to be seated. Just my thoughts on your poor service.
