This is my best visit ever to Santa Fe! I had the 5 course meal and it was great! The rolls and peanuts were a good starter. The potato soup was good, but it came out with my salad. The salad was good also. Then the main event came and did not disappoint. I had the steak and it was great! I said I wanted well done, and they made it just right. I had a dessert that I forgot the name of, but it couldn't be better! The service was good too. This is a good place to eat if you catch them on the right day. read more

Listen to the reviews when they say it isn't worth it and unflavorful. We tried to be positive and overlook the negatives but this meal was extremely mediocre and unflavorful. The steak wasn't cooked or seasoned properly. They even managed to mess up what was probably instant mashed potatoes and the gravy was the worst thing I think I've ever tasted. It was probably from the hotel breakfast down the road. The only thing remotely good was the salad with a premade Caesar dressing and a fried mozzarella stick. The service was fairly good hence the reason for the 2 stars. I would steer clear because this place isn't worth it. We came to this establishment to have a birthday dinner. We arrived and were seated immediately, when we sat down we waited for over 15 min to order a drink. When we ordered are drunk the serve took another 15 min to bring our drinks back to our table, when she finally returned two of the drinks were wrong. We ordered a drink from the bar and it took over 20 min for us to receive the drink. We ordered two appetizers the cheese sticks and chips and queso. The queso was very thick and didn't seem like it had been cooked very well. We ordered three steaks and the pasta, the past sauce was very chunky and cold. One of the steaks we ordered with southwest shrimp when we received it the plate was cover in the southwest sauce and the shrimp was cold. One of the other steaks we ordered was medium well, the medium well steak was bleeding blood, so we sent it back, when it finally came back out it was black and burnt and uneatable. We only live 30 min away and used to come to eat here often but recently this place has gone down hill and is not worth the time or the cost. Attached are pictures of what we received. read more

really should have holiday hours because gee wiz the experience my family had on fourth of july is unreal. understaffed af cuz any young person in this town has zero work ethic. 20 mins to be sat: perfectly normal. waiting nearly 10 mins to be greeted: i can understand a tiny bit if youre busy (empty tables everywhere btw). waiting 35 ish mins for our order with missing items plus wrong dressing: not ok. asked for a steak and for it to be medium and it came out like it was grilled on both sides for 5 seconds. another person ordered a steak medium well. had to send it back to cook longer and the server forgot about it til we reminded her 10 mins after sending it back. my food was ok but eating such a rare steak i had to use their cinnamon butter to substitute flavor as i couldnt taste any, the shrimp tasted fine though. as im writing this review its been about 20 mins since ive recieved my food and im still without a side item that was supposed to come with my meal but im ready to just get out of here and watch fireworks already so ill for-go it. this place should be gutted and converted to a texas roadhouse already. at least service is at the top of their culture and i would know, i worked there before! read more

I'm pretty surprised that this place only has three stars. For a small town the steaks were actually very good. Mine was cooked to a perfect medium. The shrimp was coated in a scrumptious southwest orange sauce and grilled. The server made excellent recommendations and I didn't feel uncomfortable eating there alone. This place is hit or miss. When there on the food is really good but you never know sometimes the quality is just not there. The service is usually not that great. We've gone several times with a group or 4-6 and you can be sure at least one of us has an improperly cooked steak. Just no consistency and that's a shame. read more

Nice atmosphere & nuts everywhere, that drives me nuts! Food took a long time, a bit surprising but the Filet was extremely good, however it was pretty red for medium but tender & seasoned perfectly. Tilapa was wayyyyyy over cooked 1st time, so much so I thought it was blackened, they replaced it but still charged us, hmmm. The potato soup turns out to basically be chunks of baked potato in a cup, very disappointed! Server did a good job keeping drinks refilled & she tried hard to please us, so she scores major service points. However she was no different than most when it came to forgetfulness, asked for no green onions on the potato soup & she delivered it with green onions, then brings a replacement with no spoon & have to wait for her to come back around to flag her down to get a spoon to eat the soup lol The desert was only 1/2 what it was advertised as cuz they were out of ice cream for the Brownie so they tried to make up for it with a ton more whip cream (now there can never be enough WC if you know what I mean), but the brownie was great. May be that my expectation is too high. I think someone forgot the salad, it came 15 seconds before the steak. Caesar Salad was soggy (dressing pre-mixed)and made with mostly iceberg lettuce. Steak was ordered medium, came charred no pink to be found. Sweet potato with butter/ cinnamon sugar on the side - your guess - yep smack dabb in the middle. I think 3 stars is pretty much spot on for this spot. It's not great. It's not bad. It's going to be a decent meal, and you can certainly do much worse elsewhere. I stopped in on a misc Tuesday night looking for a bit of dinner. I went with their "5 course" dinner (one of the courses includes bread & peanuts, which seems a bit cheesy). Soup, salad, steak and dessert. All of the dishes were decent. The steak was very nicely cooked. The major complaint that I had was the fact that the food was not spaced out at all, so within about 7 minutes I was surrounded by 4 plates. But beyond that the staff is friendly and again - decent food. I'd stop by again if I were in town. read more

We were driving from OKC to Dallas, and decided to stop into Santa Fe Cattle Co for dinner. It very well could have been a Texas Roadhouse if I didn't know better. Cute, but a little cheesy décor, with tons of nostalgic country-western memorabilia. Today's country music blared through the speakers. We nibbled on peanuts when we were seated...another similarity to Texas Roadhouse. The menu had a lot of options...fried appetizers, burgers, pastas, steaks, etc. The choices were pretty generic. Our server was very sweet and attentive. We started with the queso that was actually white queso cheese with ground beef mixed in...dynamite and the best part of the meal. I had the chicken fried steak and it was HUGE! I immediately cut in half so that I could save some for lunch the next day. It came with creamy mashed potatoes and dinner rolls. The rolls were small and served with cinnamon butter. The breading on the chicken tasted like it had been frozen at some point. Overall, there was nothing bad about the meal or experience...just nothing to get excited about. read more

Pull up a seat to the bar and get charmed up by the bar staff and have a couple Coronaritas. That's right, Coronaritas. That's right, a couple. It's a good time. Not too loud to talk, but you can let the hair down a bit for sure. Never had a bad service, but then I usually sit at the bar. Never had any trouble with the food, save one so-called "death burger". This molten-cheesy monstrosity brings a whole new meaning to "it's all over me, what the crap?!" I did earn a t-shirt and a 10% off card for downing there 2 lb sirloin. Not even a problem. Drove from Sulphur to eat here. Arrived @6pm . Was told by Hostess the wait would be 45 minutes. The lobby was packed .She asked for my cell # & said she would call when table was ready. After waiting in my car for 50 minutes I went back inside to see how much longer. She told me she had called my name earlier. My response was you took my # & said you would CALL. she said she'd have to put me back on the list which would be 35 more minutes. This hostess lied to me. Why ask for my number if not going to call. She was very rude & needs to be fired!! Other reviews I've read has had same problems happen to them. We are from New Mexico and the first time we ate at Santa Fe Cattle Co. was great! The waitress told the manager it was our first time and as we were eating our wonderful steak the manager herself came up to us and thanked us for dining in her restaurant and gave us a free appetizer for our next visit. Two months later we were back! Super nice waitress again and we both had the chop sirloin with onions peppers and cheese along with salads and green beans. It was the best! My wife and I took friends here for our anniversary on 8-10-2021. We went for steaks but were told they were out of most steaks. My wife and I ordered hamburgers. This was absolutely the worst experience I've ever had in an Ardmore Oklahoma restaurant. We waited for an hour and 15 minutes for my steak to come out. The steak was so well done and I ordered it medium. Then after another 20 minutes wait the waitress finally brought the steak out to me. She gave me the excuse that they were just really shorthanded. When I looked around the restaurant we were one of only four tables in the restaurant. The staff were standing at the bar talking and the manager was no where to be found. The service and food was terrible. I walked to the kitchen area to try to find my waitress. I could see into the kitchen area and it was so nasty that I will never go back there again. read more

Wow! I won't be able to say enough nice things about this place! First off I stopped here bc I don't eat any fast food and this place is why. The quality was awesome and the service was stellar. We got a hamburger on a hoagie with fries, grilled chicken and sweet potato. Everything was cooked perfectly. My husband has a corn allergy and they are extremely accommodating. The manger brought the box out so I could verify. He did it with pleasure. The wait staff was cutting up and having fun. They were all pleasant and genuine. We stopped here a second time (first visit a year ago) after traveling to take our children to Urban Air trampoline park and unfortunately there haven't been any improvements. We visited on a week night during our children's Christmas break from school. Only about five tables were occupied, I was looking forward to great food and service. I honestly think waitress had good intentions but limited capabilities. She was not even aware that the green beans had bacon in them and my non pork and red meat consuming wife was not happy. Several incidents, asking for utensils, being told there was no bacon in a side, a children's meal that was advertised as "mini corn dogs", all went annoyingly wrong. The beef quality (I ordered their largest t bone) was mediocre at best and it was heavily seasoned with a very salty type of spice that over whelmed the entire thin slightly over cooked steak. My double irder of steamed broccoli, again, you guessed it,was way too salty. My wife's baked salmon was over salty spiced with the same type of spice and almost totally dry. My daughters mini corn dogs were nasty and appeared to be Vienna sausages (totally dry) breaded. She never ate one and she's known normally to be a good eater. My 12 year old son, who likes leaner cuts, was the only one who enjoyed his meal ordering the filet. I'm not going to discuss restaurant cleanliness, price, parking, etc. I don't think it will matter if your meal itself is sub par. The manager should travel and eat a meal at the Texas Road House in Oklahoma City so that they have something to aspire to. Went there twice. The first night, I was by myself, elected to sit at the bar. It was sticky. I asked the bartender to please wipe it off. She did, then without greeting, offering a menu, nothing, she very rudely said, "What do you want to drink?" She huffed, turned, and walked off when I said I wasn't sure, and I decided to leave because the service was already bad, and I'd not yet even sat down. Night 2: Friends wanted to go there. Told me we'd sit at a table, away from unfriendly bar staff. It was going well until the waiter asked if the cook could butterfly my filet, which was thick, and wouldn't cook down to medium. I said it was ok, but when they brought the steak, it was under seasoned, so tough on one side and over done so that I could barely get a fork in it, and the other side was under cooked. It was bright red inside, rare, in fact, blood all over the plate. The waiter was nice, but the manager, not so much. She did comp the meal, but never took ownership, in fact, after she was told of my first experience there, she asked why I didn't complain instead of leaving, and basically turned it around on me, and made me out to be the bad guy. My friends were sitting there in disbelief, agreed with me when I told the manager she shouldn't be sticking up for her bartender, or the cook who destroyed my steak, and somehow making all of it out to be my problem, not hers. End result, she made it worse, not better, I didn't eat, my meal was comped, which was the only decent thing that happened, and my friends and I will never go back there again. This used to be a good, reliable steakhouse. Recently, they have gone down hill. Way down hill. Last Sunday we went with friends at 6pm. The place was empty with only a few tables occupied. The waitress took our order and brought drinks. So far, so good! This is where the down hill part begins. Tables began filling up with customers. We finally got some rolls. After 30 minutes, no waitress, no food. Other servers are helping the new customers. They begin bringing out their food. My husband went to look for our waitress and asked about our orders. She told him it was not her fault the kitchen was slow but she would look in to it! 10 more minutes go by. Customers who came in 20 minutes behind us are now finishing and leaving. My husband went to look for the manager. He said he would look in to it! 10 more minutes went by and we got up and left. No one ever came to our table to update us on the delay. We were there almost an hour and saw our waitress twice. We went next door to the Rib Crib and got served immediately and had a good meal. No problems. Perhaps management has changed or competition has recruited their good employees. We won't be back. read more

I ordered a medium rare 9oz sirloin steak. After 30 minutes it was served beyond medium and I suspect it WAS 9oz, but it was served cold so I get the shrinkage factor. Size matters. They tried again. 35 minutes later...same result (less shrinkage). My new and improved steak appeared to be medium rare, but one half was well done. I'm confused on how they accomplished a partitioned steak...must be a fancy grill or a shift change. I was hungry so I ate it. I didn't enjoy it, I just ate it. Dry. No seasoning. No marbling and tough. Chewy tough. Remember when you were young and, you, at some point chewed meat until it was a mush pile? Yep! This place is for memories. My sides were "marinated mushrooms" and a salad. The tiny button mushrooms were indeed marinated in the broth from the jar for months. I did taste a slight hint of spice (pepper) so kudos to the rebel in the kitchen. The salad had, well, iceberg lettuce; the inside and outside leaf variety, shreds of cheese and teeth sharpening flavorless croutons for decoration. They do have salt and pepper shakers. Apparently they try not to offend any taste buds. Service is slow and the food is made with effortless ease. I dare you to order a steak under medium. read more

My family arrived and approached the Hostess Stand. We were the only customers waiting to be seated, but it took a long time to be helped (although we were looked at). The manager and two employees were helping a young man to find a bar\dance club in town. I understand the hospitality of helping another person, but the hostess could have broken away for a moment to at least acknowledge us or to perform her duty and seated us. It was more than five minutes, in which we almost left, and in retrospect we should have. After being seated and our waiter taking our drink orders in a timely fashion, he disappeared we assumed to get our drinks. He did reappear, but only to check on the table behind us, not even looking at us both times he passed us. We did eventually get our drinks, but the service and attentiveness of the help was terrible, and it got progressively worse. In the course of waiting for our appetizer, which, once again took an extremely long time, one of my children accidentally bumped and spilled my wife's drink on my wife. Our waiter was nowhere to be seen, as we grew accustomed to, and my wife flagged down a bus boy and asked for napkins, as we didn't have any, including and that came with silverware because we had not been given any silverware at this point. He said he would bring us some and left our section. He didn't come back. Our waiter finally showed up and we asked for napkins and he said he would be right back with some and a refill for my wife. Luckily he did come back with napkins, but no refill. At the time this was not an issue as she didn't need a drink. About five minutes later our waiter came back and with no refill in hand he pointed at her cup and said he would be right back with a refill for her. After another extended disappearance, he did bring a refill. I assumed that they were packed and I tried to excuse the lack of good service, or service at all in this case, but as I made a trip to their restrooms, which takes me through another section, I saw that the entire section was closed. At this point I stopped trying to excuse their behavior and was glad to receive our check and leave. read more

What a joke!! $8.00 for chips and qeso? Upset customer next to us because he didn't get the rice that came with his meal then they tried to charge him for it. The manager wouldn't go speak with the customer either he just kept sending the poor waitress to do his dirty work. Service was sub-par and their food is way overpriced for what you get.
