Visiting from Utah and Mia was out waitress and she was so attentive and sweet!! I got the santa fe salad and it was so yum

Update: Double check your final bill before paying - they charged us xtra and then refused to correct the bill. And THEN charged an additional $3 to my credit card company. They probably think I will just let this slide by. HA! Nope. I am disputing the bill with my credit card company. I have the receipt with the proper amount. They think their customers are stupid. Food was good. Service was good. But then we were overcharged for my husband's dinner by $5. He was charged an extra $1.99 for sautéed mushrooms and onions plus $2.99 for mushrooms. When my husband pointed out the discrepancy, charge for one or the other but not both, the waitress said that's how they do it. So we asked to speak of the manager. Another person came to our table to explain there was nothing that she could do because it was already charged on the credit card. According to her, once it was charged, it couldn't be cancelled, then recharged. I called B.S. on that. She was supposed to be "the manager." A real manager would have made this right for the customer. She offered us desert for "free". We didn't want dessert. She offered a gift card with a credit of $2.99 which we could use on a future visit. We would not be passing through Ardmore for another year. We just wanted to be charged either $2.99 for sautéed mushrooms or $1.99 for mushrooms and onions. But not charged twice for the same thing. The "manager," if that is what she was, said nothing they could do once it was on the charge. So people, the morale of this story is to watch your final check closely. If you get charged $59 for a $25 steak and you don't catch it right away, tough luck for you. You will pay $59, but may get to go home with a free desert. I wonder how often this happens and mysteriously can't bd corrected. So we "ate" the $2.99 overcharge, but now they are charging an additional $3.00 to my credit card company (i.e. $39.29 instead of the correct amount $36.29 which is the amount on the paper copy of my receipt.) These people are scammers. They think their customers will overlook a small amount of money like this. read more

I wish I had read the reviews before I ate here. I gave it two stars instead of one because my wife had the Southwest Shrimp Paste and said the pasta sauce was very tasty and she got a large portion. I had a baked sweet potato that was good but the 6 oz sirloin was just about the worst tough, stringy steak I have ever had. The service was slow and the grumpy, bored waitress had dirty looking braided hair. This is not a place I will come back to. read more

Waiter was outside in back of restaurant smoking and on his phone, food was cold, didn't bring me or my son a baked potatoe, said they are out. Waiter was very slow to get food out, wasnt familiar with menu. So, I debated updating my review. This week four of us went back to Santa Fe Cattle for lunch. Not crowded and we were seated almost immediately. It took 10 minutes to get someone to take our drink order and 10 more minutes to get our drinks. 15 minutes later we got to order food. We asked for chips and salsa and had to ask for them twice more to get them. Had to ask for drink refills. After almost an hour of waiting for food we tracked down our server to check progress. "Some of it" was allegedly ready. We waited 10 more minutes with no updates and no food. We left and went to Chik Fil A. Service has always been hit or miss at Santa Fe, but this trip was the last straw. Could not be more disappointed, as this has been our go-to for a couple of years. The tables around us were getting food, though there appeared to be some issues that the manager should have handled. Went to Swadley's for the first time today and had great food with great service. Lovely restaurant which we had high hopes for. However there were staffing issues which weren't relayed to us until after we waited over an hour for our drinks. The food was over two hours after we were seated. My rare steak was medium well. Many items were cold or cooked incorrectly. However Leanna, our server was amazing. Santa Fe Cattle Co. is a small regional chain restaurant with around 20 locations in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma & Tennessee. A real southern style super casual joint that has a giant whiskey barrel of free salty peanuts that greets everyone at the front door. Then as you enter there are buckets of peanuts & peanut shells at every table, all over the floor, the bar, all over the dead gum place! I mean you can toss them up & down & throw 'em all around no one gives a shitters. LOL Come in yer boots, cutoffs & overalls, not a problem. It's a country kinda place with laid back fun redneck style! With the stuffed armadillos, giant longhorn cow head & very cleaver redneck outhouse art posted all around, you can wear yer jeans with holes in both knees & a patch on yer arse, heck, yer lookin real purdy in this joint! Especially with one of those super refreshing redneck teas in each hand. Heck yea, double fisted redneck tea is practically mandatory. Its basically a Long Island with ever clear instead of Vodka that's served in a giant mason jar. After a day on the lake you can cruise on in, throw a few longnecks back or have a couple redneck teas outside under the stars in their cattle pen. When they first opened they had a real cowboy horse saddle barstool at the end of the bar, I must have wore a hole in it drinkin all them redneck teas bc they done took the dead gum thing out & replaced it with a regular bar stool! Ya'll bollocksed that up good :( Santa Fe hand cuts all their USDA aged steaks by their in house butcher & everything on the menu is scratch made. The burgers are ground fresh every day never frozen. The fresh baked yeast rolls are light, chewy & served pipping hot right out the over with their cinnamon butter. The 16oz ribeye steak is very popular. All the steaks are cooked to your liking with your choice of sides like baked potato, salad, mashed potato, sweet potato, cole slaw, etc., The chicken fried steak is big enough for 2. It comes hanging off the plate every time with mashed tators & your choice of white or brown gravy. I love all the super fresh salads & the salmon. The salmon is giant, grilled & seasoned to your liking, I order it blackened with a double side of salad YUM! I think it's the best thing on the menu next to the amazballs death burger. The death burger is one spicy slap in yer face hotter than a spanked babies butt on two baby soft buttered buns. A awesome hangover cure :).... They make these giant cheese sticks that are bigger than ball park winers! lol You can only eat one of them big'o winer size cheesy sticks. With 4 to an order they are perfect to share when you are out hangin with your buds ;) I have never been to any of the other locations, I have only been to the Ardmore location when I'm hangin at my lake-house on the weekends. It's one of the best & only places in town to grab some grub & a double fisted redneck tea. The place is FUN with a all day happy hour & the prices are fantastic! My homeboy Josh C, he knows what's up! Just read his review. Like him we usually sit at the bar for the better service, happy hour specials & southernly charming atmosphere with all the other locals. We usually all know each other. Its a small town & we don't judge folks by their relatives lol It gets busier in there than a set of jumper cables at a mexican funeral on the weekends. The few times hubby & I have sat at a table & had dinner the service is slower than a john-deer tractor & sometimes they start running out of everything especially those yummy rolls & the salmon. It doesn't help that most of the waitress's are a few fries short of a happy meal either but they are sure purdy in them painted on jeans with the sexy holes in all the right places that will really crank your tractor! The place is cool, plays great music, It's a super fun atmosphere with a awesome drink menu, fantastic prices & the food is scratch made delicious. We went there because someone had told us they had steak. My daughter got steak asked for it to be medium. She cut into it and it was rare and still cold. She sent it back telling them to cut in half and lay face down. They brought it back to be cooked on outside more but inside looked the same and still was not warm in middle. She looked at waitress and said I cannot eat this. She sent back again and by this time her sides were cold. The took off the steak from her bill but she wanted to eat with the rest of her family. I had ribs but they were not falling off the bones as it said and had little taste. My sides were baked sweet potato which was cold and fried okra which was the best thing on my plate. I could go on and on but the rest of my family had issues as well. It was not our server's fault it was in the kitchen. Needless to say we will not be returning when we come from out of town to go to Lake Murray during Thanksgiving which we have been doing for 39 years. We were stuck in town while our truck was in the shop so we decided to try this place out. We sat at the bar and were greeted promptly with a smile. Ordered the wings as an appetizer and were pleased with them!! I ordered the sirloin and shrimp combo and upgraded to the Southwest shrimp. My side was a baked potato. Everything was delicious! I also got the Jack Daniels glaze, sautéed mushrooms and sautéed onions!!! My husband got the spicy southwest burger with fries and he really enjoyed it!!! There was some confusion at first with the hostess sitting our table of 7, but our server turned that all around. We told her about the situation, and she fixed us right up, along with great service! We went here tonight and had Ann for our waitress. We all ordered the sirloins and they were seasoned to perfection. Nothing needed to dip them in. I wished you could get the cinnamon and sugar for the sweet potato separately because I only wanted cinnamon but you can't. The reviews are low for a reason. A steak ordered medium rare arrived medium well. It seems like the steaks are baked, as they have a chewy texture and no seer on them. The Big A salad was a big Fail in my opinion. They don't even have the ingredients that are on the menu to top it. There was no egg on it, and after the fact the waitress said they were out. She was really sweet, but couldn't make up for the lackluster food. It was 11 dollars for a bag of iceberg with two chicken fingers on it and a side of watery, tasteless "jalapeño?" Ranch. Kids meals are 6.99 and tiny. I spent 70 dollars for the family and left kind of still hungry. The rolls are good though. Living in Ardmore, Oklahoma leaves a person with few choices when going out to eat. Santa Fe is on our short list of places to go. I don't really care for much on their extensive menu, but I do like their steak. I always get the same thing...the smallest filet with a loaded baked potato(sometimes a naked sweet potato). The salad it comes with is sad. Iceberg lettuce , a few chopped tomatoes , shredded cheddar cheese and packaged croutons. My steak always comes out cooked to order or pretty close. The baked potato usually seems like it's been sitting in a steamer tray for hours. The sweet potato is usually better. The rolls are great with the cinnamon butter, but they often forget to bring them. Just ask and they will..ive never had a server that wasn't polite and trying to do their best job. The worst thing about this place is getting seated! Even if the place is empty they tell me there is a 20 minute wait. So strange. Last time we stood at the host stand for 5 minutes and no one acknowledged us! We went and sat at the bar. Bartender was very nice. Altogether, this place isn't horrible...just not that great either. Why is it so difficult to get a hot baked potato? Wife's baked potato was not even hot enough to melt butter. Catfish was hot but the inside did not look like catfish from other restaurants. Listen to the reviews when they say it isn't worth it and unflavorful. We tried to be positive and overlook the negatives but this meal was extremely mediocre and unflavorful. The steak wasn't cooked or seasoned properly. They even managed to mess up what was probably instant mashed potatoes and the gravy was the worst thing I think I've ever tasted. It was probably from the hotel breakfast down the road. The only thing remotely good was the salad with a premade Caesar dressing and a fried mozzarella stick. The service was fairly good hence the reason for the 2 stars. I would steer clear because this place isn't worth it.
