    My notes of the incident

Thank you Samuel of Santa Fe Express Café!!. How very kind of you to do that! I heard my name being called and thought you were my boyfriend telling me I forgot something in the car when he dropped me off. My train was due in 1 minute!!! And you made me make my train! I looked at you and almost said ," I will cancel it!" Thank you again for all you did and me making my train with seconds to spare!

No matter how long you live in a specific area, there will always be something new to discover. In Downtown Fullerton, Sante Fe Express Cafe is one location I would never have known if I hadn't ridden the Orange County Metro or if someone I knew recommended it. My nephew loves trains and wanted to celebrate his fourth birthday with family and friends, eating and watching the trains. There is some indoor seating, while the outdoor patio has about ten tables. It was the perfect spot to set up the birthday decorations on one side and enough seating for the party guest and the other side for patrons. The patio is near the tracks, so you get a nice view of the cargo trains and Metro passing by. The service was friendly and excellent as our server came around and took our orders (due to our big party). The food came out hot and fresh-made. I saw various people ordering breakfast items, burgers, and Queenie Weenies at our party. I ordered the Ortega Burger and substituted the chips for onion rings and a regular drink. The Ortega burger was delicious. The patty was seasoned just right, and the Ortega chili added a nice burst of juicy flavor. The one order of onion rings is shareable and was perfectly crispy with a side of ranch. My family got a breakfast burrito and patty melt. They thought their food was good and happy with their orders. The establishment itself is a nice little find and perfect for travelers and locals alike. The cafe provides a great selection of food, drinks, and all your travel and personal needs. Prices are also reasonable. I will have to come back and try more food and enjoy the scene trains and people passing by. Parking is free for 3hrs in one lot while other lots are paid parking at certain times. There were a few homeless around, but they didn't bother the patrons and other people walking around.

We were in the area and decided to try this spot next to the station. We had large parties and the service was amazing. I got the Santa Fe burger and fries, it's season right. A side of fries is enough for 3 or 4 people. I could go for more burger, it's good! Kids definitely love the train passing by. Heads up, the tracks are close by and keep an eye as they may fall to the tracks. Go up the stairs and watch the train drom above. Amazing!

    Is it dog friendly?

While I do not know of an official policy, I've observed small dogs on leashes from time to time on the café patio. It might be wise to call and ask. Laws prohibit dogs inside any restaurant.…

Today we picked up a jar of giardiniera, pepperoncini, a sourdough boule, rosemary crackers, Italian cookies, and even a cool tee shirt. It gets pretty crowded on the Saturday. Their deli section got plenty of great selection of meats & cheeses. And their bakery part also got plenty of pastries and well know Italian cookies and individual cakes. Staff are great and friendly plus knowledgeable of what they're selling. I ended up buying several items instead of one or two. Definitely a place to go for good quality Italian ingredients to cook at home. As for the Pizza place, we got 2 types of sandwiches and lasagna. The Italian sandwich was just okey, the bread was not quite a right type for it. Just chewy outside and abit blanch of the filling. The meatballs sandwich is quite delightful, good amount of sauce and big meatball and go nicely with the sandwich. The lasagna was good but abit under seasoning, abit watering and it could used more meats. Overall it was okey place for a quick bites and easy to take away. Parking can be hectic and abit out of control since folks don't know what to do since people coming in and block cars that need to go out...another word. It's a small parking lot for In&Out. It was easy when I got there at 10:30am and the parking lot was pretty much empty (since market open early then their pizza side). When leave I have to wait for 5mins in order to get the car out since there are cars waiting right infront of my car and there are car infront and behind. There is a parking lot right across and street parking too, and I think it would be much easier then park in their lot during their busy times.

First off, I came in for two pastrami sandwiches which they promptly came out to me and said they didn't have any more pastrami. The lady was nice and said she would upgrade me to a different type of pastrami that actually cost more. Well whatever this crap was it didn't taste like pastrami at all. I got one soft bread and one crispy bread and the crispy bread could've chipped a tooth on a normal mouth so thank God I've got implants. Both sandwiches were painfully boring and I wish I had something good to say. I'm not sure what was put in my wife's sandwich either when she got explosive diarrhea less than 10 minutes after eating her sandwich? The cold cuts tasted off and I wanna say that they were rotten because I've been burping it all day. Something positive? I guess the store looked nice on the inside? Anyhow, without a doubt I will not be back because if Subway can make a better sandwich than you guys you're in trouble. And subway sucks by the way. Claro's... nah More like stay "Clearo" of this place.

For an additional cost, you can add meat: prosciutto, salami, Spanish chorizo, or half & half of any two. For paninis, everything I've tried was very good. I've had the Signature which has a double-cream brie, pear slices, mixed greens, and fig jam. Lib Grilled Cheese comes with three premium cheese blend, grilled with olive oil, and minced garlic.
