This review is for the prices this store is selling their groceries for, it is outrageous! How can a gallon of regular milk be $9?? When you can go to Safeway and purchase Organic Milk for 6$. The prices here are extremely high for #1 being in castroville, #2 not being organic or anything like that. Honestly I do now know who in their right mind would purchase groceries here, you can go to Safeway or Trader Joe's and get cheaper prices for better food. Something is not right, they over inflate their prices, yet still stay in business. The government needs to look into stores that are doing this, it not only harms people who have food assistance, like ebt, (since they cannot buy as much) and people who don't. I will not support a business who takes advantage of people in need, it is unethical and I hope people will see this and stop shopping there, maybe then they will lower their prices to what the market value is, I mean come on, I can go to Safeway and get more than Santa Fe?? read more

Santa fe taqueria- I just came back from having dinner with my dad. We've been here a few times. Usually it's pretty okay. But sadly the menudo here has no flavor its no good. I wont order or recommend menudo from here to anybody. The store itself - i live in the back of castroville, elkhorn and santa fe is about a mile or 2 closer than Safeway in prundale from where I am and this santa fe doesnt accept wic, so I wonder where families who live in castroville go to use their wic checks. Don't bother to come to this location. Make the extra drive to seaside. We order food to go and the lady didn't ring me up for an extra burrito. Luckily she didn't charge me but the fact that we came home with less burritos. Plus you only get one chip bag per order. Seaside location gives you enough chip bags for all order placed. read more

We tryed the restaurant side of Santa Fe market for the first time today! We ordered the California burrito and it was delicious! Big pieces of carne asada and the French fries were crispy! Definitely will be back to try the 3.99 breakfast burrito before 11am! read more

I really like the taqueria inside of this Santa Fe Market. We eat here a lot. The food is always good and cheap. The girls are always nice and friendly. They try hard to communicate with you in their bad English and my bad Spanish ha ha. I also like the salsa bar and their Agua frescas. It can take a while to get your food so be patient. I wish they'd give you the chips while you wait instead of when they serve your food so you can have those chips and salsa while you wait. read more

What a surprise! Decided to grab burritos here for dinner and they were delicious AND huge!!! Not one of us could finish though I knew I'd be dreaming of it later. Lots of changes here at Santa Fe Mercado - Carniceria. First they have the new Taqueria. They also have a new bakery and a new ''to go' hot food buffet. We haven't tried this yet but I did get a piece of cake with strawberries and cream, it was ok. Mostly cake. It needs more cream to even out the cream to cake ratio. I really like all the changes here. We'll be back to try the buffet. read more

They are great! 9 times out of 10 the fish was fresh, and cut from fresh filets right before it hits the grill. Huge portions per taco. 2 fish tacos is almost more than you need. They add a slightly picked cabbage blend and some kind of spicy creamy orange colored sauce that's perfect. Stopping at the salsa bar to add chopped onion, cilantro & avacodo sauce if my favorite, but the have many more options. Clean, quick and a good price for the portion size & quality. read more

However I was buying cat food and a drink from the regular store part of Santa Fe and the cashier ignored my existence. I said hello with a smile and she ignored me and continued to talk to her coworker. She told me my total and that was the extent of her talking to me. Every time I go here I always get amischrage at the cashier. Always pay attention, if the store is planing on having sales they should honor and make sure they check they are ringing out for the price they advertise. The cashier kept fighting me and telling me that it was not 2 for 3 that it was 3.29. I asked to speak to a manager and she told me, " there is no manager in store" so she called a cashier leader. I told her the issue and told her that I was very unhappy that my cashier did not want to honor the advertised price. Cashier still kept fighting it and said "But it's 3.29" I showed the cashier leader the advertise price and said oh yes it is 2 for 3. So she went ahead and discounted the price. But my the other cashier was still questioning her own manager. She had to explain to her that it's was legit 2 for 3. It is truly sad this is the only place in town where you can find almost anything and that the management take that for granted taking advantage of their customers. I use to work here and only lasted 3 weeks. Management is rude, and disrespectful. If you can just go to local family stores or drive to Safeway.
