All the food is prepared fresh and the portions are generous. Be prepared to wait on line if it's a Friday or weekend night- there is a movie theater a few stores away and when it empties everyone hits the 'Fe. Our only issue with this place is that every time we go our order gets messed up. I'm not sure if it's because it's so busy but I can always count on something missing or getting the wrong item. The food is really good. They're a little slow to take orders, and only have one POS which handles in store customers as well as phone calls, which is kind of off-putting. Decent environment to eat in, though kind of 80s retro with the diner bench seat booths. It's really pretty cool. The hot sauces and salsas are really good! My only real complaint is that the straws are really too thin. Seriously...it would be a more enjoyable experience if you would spend a little more on quality straws that allow the customer to actually get a mouth full of drink without having to suck so hard. You're selling food which may require a person to reach for a drink and consume something quickly. Get a decent diameter straw! read more

Ordered take out from here a few times, love that there is an option nearby for decent Mexican food. It's your basics, tacos, nachos, burritos. Then a few other not so basics, rellenos, chimichangas, enchiladas, etc. Everything I've ordered has been very flavorful and filling. Decent portions for the price. Staff is friendly and helpful and they get the food out very quickly. I actually specifically go there when I'm in the mood for some guacamole. I am pretty picky about guacamole and I think theirs is very good. Not sure if they make it there or not, but I enjoy it very much. One thing that bothers me is that, I typically order enchiladas, one of my favorites and each time they have not been heated all the way through. I cut into them and the cheese isn't melted all the way. Also they may need to reconsider their take out packaging. They use the basic white styrofoam containers and unfortunately by the time I get the food home, only 2 blocks away the food is spilling out of the container and inside the box it is a bit of a mess. Santa Fe is hit or miss. When this place first opened it was AMAZING. But, I don't know what happened since then. The salsa use to be one of the reasons I would be here all the time, but they have recently, in the past year it seems, to have changed the recipe or an ingredient in it. Just taste a little acidic? I'm not sure, but something is different from how they make it from when they opened the place. I would die for the original salsa! The young girl at the counter can not add up orders correct, and we always end up paying various prices for same things ordered. Tacos are still good, best eaten there as they get a bit soggy when wrapped and sitting for a while. Burritos could be better, the rice in the burrito is a bit salty, the lettuce also inside is like eating hard cabbage. They also put like a spoonful of rice on the takeout plate if you order a meal. Wish they put more on. We still continue to come here, but there is definite room for improvement and we hope the owners realize this. read more

Every time I go to Becky's Drive-in (from Philadelphia, PA), I stop at Santa Fe Taco. Their Mexican food is top-notch. They always have a specialty salsa and at least two other ones to eat with your chips - all you want. I love their buffalo chicken and fish tacos. I do not know how they flavor their fish tacos so well, but it is really special. Santa Fe Taco is pretty inexpensive. You do not even have to tip a waiter. If you want more tacos, you buy more at the counter. If you want more salsa, you walk up to the salsa station. Great prices, great food, and pretty much self-service. It's a great combo to me. Our first visit, since being noobs we weren't sure how to get in the place from the back lot. Luckily there are plenty of signs. Once inside, you order at one spot. We opted for a small nacho grande, filled and i mean filled with taco meat, black beans, onions, tomato, queso, and black olives, we left off the peppers. And for out mains I got chicken and beef tacos my wife got a beef chimichanga. I kind of thought the chicken was a little dry but that was quickly remedied by some fresh salsa. They always have fresh salsa, with the addition of a specialty one. My life loved her chimichanga, and the only change she would do is add queso instead of nacho cheese.
