Had good payment amount for items, but the man I dealt with was not to courteous or respectful. Actually gave me the highest price, but he frowned when I wanted to check others for price comparison. Was told that if I left the shop, the price would drop almost 10% if I tried to come back. Cashed in my rings somewhere else... Happened to look over while driving by and decided to stop and take a peek. I'm a sucker for a good jewelry deal. Walked in and was instantly and warmly greeted by the owner, Steve. They have a decent selection of silver and fine jewelry. All displayed beautifully. Steve was attentive without being pushy, which I thoroughly appreciated. I ended up buying a beautiful dainty natural diamond infinity pinky ring. He was a really good sport about negotiating and let me have it at the price point I asked for. While chatting with Steve he said they can do jewelry appraisals for insurance companies, he employs someone who is GIA certified, buys jewelry, offer repairs, and cleaning. After wearing my new ring for a day, I decided it needed to be sized down. Figured since I was going back I would take in a few necklaces I don't wear and see what I could get for them. He actually advised me to try to sell it privately first and even offered to have me meet a buyer at his shop and he would vouch for the authenticity of my rings, at no charge! What a guy!! We stopped in at the Santee Jewelry & Loan location at Fanita Dr. and Mission Gorge Rd. to check the offer prices for some silver rounds, gold and platinum pieces. After talking with Mario, we left to compare with other shops elsewhere, but at the end of the day, Mario was right, they do pay the best prices. Mario was very efficient in checking the weights and composition of the metals, using the best equipment currently on the market, and latest market prices. He negotiated with his boss and gave us a far better payout than any other precious metal buyers in the area. The conversation with the employees was great, they are very knowledgeable in their field and willing to answer all of my questions accurately. I highly recommend them if you are selling your PM's or other high value jewelry or heirlooms. I will return to them again as I decide to sell off more gold, silver, coins or other collectables!
