My fiancé got my engagement ring here, and first and foremost - the diamond, which was apparently of top quality (VS1), literally cracked right down the center within 2 weeks of wearing it. No damage to any part of the ring aside from the diamond. Instead of replacing the diamond and taking ownership, Victoria blamed me for cracking the diamond myself?? (Impossible!) We had also gotten my fiancé's wedding band here, which was a thick yellow gold band with a small princess cut diamond in the center. We have been married just 2 months, and what do you know - his diamond has fallen out of the wedding band. Victoria is expensive, without any guarantee of her product or quality of work. She is rude, does not take ownership for her mistakes, and continues to provide poor quality time and time again. I caution anyone from bringing or buying jewelry here. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could! I dropped off my wedding band with Victoria to be cleaned. She told me to come back later to pick up. When I came back she handed me a different ring. I told her it wasn't mine and she looked confused. She figured out that she put my ring and someone else's in the same cleaner and gave the other person mine! And she didn't keep records of the other person. I was in shock, speechless and she did not even apologize. She offered to make me a new one. She can never replace the band my husband put on my finger on our wedding day. This is the worst part!!! Not only did she NOT apologize, she said she needed to leave to get to her HOA meeting. Got my engagement ring here a year ago and my emerald is loose. Had time to get it fixed today just to drive up and see they are closed. Sign on the door says they are on winter break till 1/10 but it's 1/17 and they are closed also the hours are wrong. Disappointed. Other than that they were very nice when we went in previously but to drive 45 minutes from ramona to get here and see they aren't even open is extremely frustrating considering gas prices. read more

I had came to Michael's Jewelers many years ago, about six or so,and they had did a cleaning and a re sizing for me ( I had to get smaller since I had finally lost all that baby weight I had gained) yeah me! The pricing was not exhaustive for a small repair and cleaning then... well... I needed to get a prong fixed on my six prong setting that holds my diamond.... I decided to get a second opinion here at Michael's Jewelers............. after the scandalous rip off quote I had just received at Robbin's Brothers earlier in the week.... ALWAYS get a second opinion for everything! They said they could not fix my wedding ring at Robbin's Brothers for under four hundred dollars......and thought it would be just easier to sell me another setting and throw in a "free" life time warranty... for close to five hundred dollars.... Anyways.... I came inside Michael's Jewelers, I was greeted by of whom I think was Victoria, she said, yes this would be no problem to fix, that she would just have to replace one prong. twenty five dollars! What? A long shot from the shysters from Robbin's Brothers... Well I will take some before and after pics... you be the judge... I was referred to Michael's Jewelers 20 years ago by a friend that has been using them since she was a teen. I inherited my mom's original antique wedding set 13 years ago, it was never professionally taken care of. Recently a prong broke, setting fell out but amazingly I was able to find the setting. I took it to Michael's Jewelers; they redid the prongs & fixed it like new but w/ out losing the old style of ring. I don't go to Michael's that often, but when I need any repairs or cleaning, they are definitely my go to jewelers & highly recommend them to anyone & everyone. I have been using Michael's Jewellers for some years now. It's a family run business and Victoria and Paul have always been so helpful and caring. My grandmother's Rolex watch from the early 1900's, which NOBODY has been able to repair to working order. I asked Victoria if she might be able do something and she told me to bring it in. I am so excited, I now have a working diamond Rolex watch, that my grandfather gave to my grandmother, with the inscription Love to My Pal. I can't list all the things that they've been able to wearing order, restrung, numerous batteries for watches. I just walk in, produce what I want done and bingo, all done to perfection. I'm disappointed that Victoria is retired, but I've been very lucky to go to the store on days she's just popped in. Paul continues the tradition of a well run family business. where to start. I went into this jewelry store to get a watch restored that was given to me upon the passing of my grandfather. It needed a new battery, had some dust under the lens, and the links could use a buffing. Nothing major,. I talked to the lady up front and she said it would take them a week (sat to sat) and it would be ready. I left my contact information and left. Fast forward to the next saturday. All week i heard nothing from them about the status of my watch. Around 2pm that saturday I decided to give them a call and see if the work was completed so i could come pick up my watch. When I called the lady told me that once the watch-maker took the watch apart he discovered that it was not an authentic watch, so it would not be worthwhile for him to repair it, so they had not done any work on it.....yes, my watch sat there for 7 days and had NOTHING done to it because they felt it was not worth it to clean it. Furious, two days later (the soonest i could get there) i walked in to collect my watch. The lady repeated to me that since it was not an authentic ___ watch that they did not do the work to it. I asked her how she thought it was her place to make a decision like that when i was a paying customer, to which she replied 'well when i called and talked to you you said not to work on it". She is a liar. I had NEVER recieved a call from her, and the only conversation we had was when I CALLED her a week after she had it and was first notified that nothing was done to it. I told her that i wanted my watch back and that they were not to touch it. They pretty much deemed it worthless and put it in a drawer, assuming i would eventually call about it and they could tell me then they did nothing. I cant believe a business would turn away business because the item was not good enough for them to work on. I walked in with a watch to have it repaired. period. Not to be told it wasn't what i thought it was, and it was not worth their time to repair. If you own a automotive repair shop and someone brings in a old POS, you dont turn them away because it requires more work than its worth. If the person wants to restore a car, you restore it for them because it has sentimental value. Same goes for this watch, it was my grandfathers, and I wanted to bring it back to pristine condition irregardless of its brand. It had history in my family. My husband just returned from Michael's Jewelers after having my watch battery replaced. Our experience with this jeweler began last Saturday when my husband went in to see if they offer watch battery replacement. Victoria greeted him and told him that she could replace the battery in my Seiko watch. After a few tries, she handed the watch back to my husband and told him that she couldn't get the back off to access the battery. The scratches that she made were noticeable on the back and she explained that "her jeweler" would repair the damage when was in. She also offered the replacement battery free of charge. Today my husband returned. Victoria remembered and recognized him from the previous Saturday. He handed her my watch and she proceeded to take it to her jeweler in the back for repair and battery replacement. The damage that she made to my watch a week ago was unable to be repaired. The scratches and gouges in the metal remain. Victoria explained to my husband that if they continued to attempt to remove the scratches, the back of my watch would not seat properly. I cannot in good faith recommend this jeweler. My watch (a gift from my kids last Christmas) was taken in and irreparable damage was done. We will not be returning to this jeweler. I cannot trust Victoria with any of my more valuable or delicate jewelry. read more

I have used Michael's Jewelers for many different reasons, including purchasing and designing my wedding rings. I have purchased many items, outright as well. Victoria knows her business well but sometimes can become a bit rushed in her duties towards customer service. However I would prefer to go here than a "mall" or David's simply because Victoria has ALWAYS made it right! If there is any type of objection or discussion regarding the work preformed, she has always discounted or charged nothing for the service. I wear 10 rings on a consistent basis on each finger. To say the very least, I am very hard on them and Victoria has bent over backwards to accommodate cleaning, repairing or adding whatever needed. It helps to be able to leave my jewelry for her jeweler to inspect and attend to them and time needed for whatever needs to be done. In most cases, I receive them back the same day, however, there have been times in which more time is needed. I have ordered specific pieces from Michael's Jewelers, one instance was a gold chain, which I was not sure which I would want, once viewed. She was more than happy to "order" 3 different styles and weights for my approval of one, which I did purchase. Victoria has always been up front when explaining her return policy prior to purchase, especially when she needs to order something she does not regularly carry. This is a small jewelry store and inventory of pieces for "show" must be carefully selected due to the economy. Simply put, if you go to a restaurant and they do not have something you want on their menu, would you be surprised to be given a bill if they specifically catered to your needs or wants and then you changed your mind? I have always had good communication with this provider, and I for one, am very happy to have found a trustworthy source for my needs. read more

The last 3 times I had to fix my watch Victoria (I believe) the owner stops what she's doing and takes a look at my watch. I'm a pilot so my watch is part of my uniform etc. Again, today I went in since my son threw a baseball at me and nailed my watch and bent the pin so band came off. Victoria took a pin and fixed it in 3 minutes. This is the 3rd time she's done this and refused to charge me. I know it was a cheap and easy fix but she could have charged me. Nope! When and if I get married I dont care what the cost I will go to Michael's! She has done some more repairs which I paid like crystal etc and still very reasonable. These people are A-1! Went to Michael's Jewelers today based on the good Yelp reviews and glad I did. I received a new gold necklace and wanted to put my favorite charm on it but the "o-ring" on the charm was too small to accommodate the one on the necklace. I explained the situation to the nice gentleman at the counter and he said he could replace the o-ring on the charm with a larger one at NO CHARGE!! I was thrilled and pleasantly surprised. I waited while he replaced it on the spot. Amazing customer service! Oh, and I first went across the street to the other jeweler and received a quote of $30 to replace the o-ring or $18 to permanently put the charm on the new necklace. I'm super happy with my experience at Michael's Jewelers. I've been going there for years to have my rings cleaned and the prongs straightened, and they always do a quick, professional job. A week ago, my mother & I went in to see about having the diamonds removed from a family heirloom ring, and set into 3 new rings. Victoria was very helpful, educating us along the way, explaining about the diamonds's cut and setting. The store has a huge variety of rings to choose from, though they also employ a jeweler who can cast original jewelry. We ordered one ring and had 2 cast as original. The prices were fair, and Victoria gave us a credit for the platinum and gold we no longer needed. In just a week, the rings were ready, and Victoria called me to tell me they were ready. They all turned out lovely! I couldn't be happier with them, and will continue to recommend Michael's to my local family & friends! read more

I have been wanting to get an additional band added to my wedding set that I got 15 years ago. My mom lives in Santee and suggested Michael's but I was skeptical because I just wasn't confident they could do it and didn't want to commit to something that turned out bad. I finally went in and talked to Victoria. She was very nice and made me feel very comfortable with the process. She said that it was something they did all the time. i was a regular customer. I brought a coin in to have a coin mount removed. Instead of simply giving me an estimate for the repair , they cleaned my coin without my permission and without first asking me if i wanted this done. Cleaning automatically reduces its value. I said i still wanted the mount removed, Insted they kicked me out of their store without agreeing to do the mount removal because I complained about the cleaning. They told me never to come back. I'm a little confused as well regarding the bad reviews of this particular jewelry store. I have been in many times and Victoria is the owner and is wonderful! I have put in several orders for custom jewelry and have been incredibly happy with each order. Most recently, I put in an order for a custom ring I found on pinterest. I went in and showed Victoria a picture and she told me my options as well as pricing. After I ordered it, she told me that it would be done in approx. 1 week but she would call me when it came in just in case it took a little longer with mother's day weekend. I also ordered 3 pairs of earrings in ascending sizes. Victoria called me the following Monday to let me know my items were in and she knocked it out of the park again!!! The ring I ordered was a rose gold setting with an opal in the middle. I will add pictures of both the ring and earrings. Just a note: Victoria and the jeweler do not work on jewelry that is not real. They are a JEWELRY STORE which carries, sterling silver, gold, rose gold and platinum if I'm not mistaken as well. They do not work on jeweler that is not real because quite frequently the cost of the repair could exceed the worth of the product (I understand there could be sentiment involved).
