It was all over my shirt and my car. It was so heavy with grease that it was leaking through the bag. Come on Santiago's do better! I wanted to update my previous review. We have gone back now quite a few times after having tried other places since moving here 6 years ago. I started with just getting a 4 way burrito, chicken, beans, rice and cheese, and so thankful they were willing to make it that way for me. Reminds me of one I would get back home. Then one day, I went inside, having always gone thru the drive thru, and discovered this huge menu! My usual is cheese enchiladas, they were very good. My husband has since gotten their combo plates, what a quality and quantity of food! Tonight, I tried something different, their street tacos. Don't let the name fool you, they are regular sized tacos, full of meat! I love a good barbacoa, and this did not disappoint. All meat, full of flavor, no fatty chunks, which are so gross to bite down on. Great amount of food for the price, and very tasty. I think I found a new fav. read more

Terrible! Never had an issue until a few weeks ago when I found a small bug on my tostada which I chalked up to being a fruit fly in the lettuce. Didn't eat the tostada. Tonight I had a chicken and rice burrito. Ate half then as I was going in for another bite I noticed something dark so I pulled it out. What appeared to be a nice sized scab was inside my burrito. I threw the rest away and will never return here to eat. And this is not a chili seed. It was very large (quarter sized) so unless this is from a VERY large chili then it is not a seed. read more

I understand that when you order something fried it's going to be greasy but the amount of grease that was in this food made me sick to my stomach! I've loved Santiago's since the 90's. I got bean burrito's for dinner tonight and they were so small it seemed like a joke. Come on guys you can do better. Don't start ripping people off. If i could give this place 0 stars I would. The man with the dark brown hair and glasses is an absolute and complete ass. We walked in greeted him and asked about breakfast he said it was done being served 10 minute ago... that's fine... but then he immediately walked away and when he comes back we ask for a lunch dish he says we have no more TO ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. I don't care if you're having a bad or stressful day. I work in retail and would never take a bad day out on a customer who has done absolutely nothing to me. This Santiago's in Frederick never seems to be able to get drive through orders right. And then, to top off their one star review, they are rude and argue with you when you call them on it. When the dang menu says you have a choice between bacon, ham, and chorizo on the breakfast burrito then have the items available. Don't get upset with the customers because they ask for what is freaking offered. Staff are RUDE, RUDE, RUDE. The woman who was on drive thru duty this morning should be fired. Just rude. Honestly we will not be back to this location again. It is a shame because the location in Ft Lupton is great and will be getting our business from now on. The workers are rude, unwilling to help, and act as if they are troubled to be there to serve you! The food is about standard if not a bit less compared to the other locations, when made correctly! Santiago's was the BEST choice I made for my wedding! Martina and her staff blew all of my expectations out of the water! They were involved from the very beginning. I had a mexican food dream that was a little unrealistic to feed 300 people and Martina brought me down to earth to ensure that everyone was well fed in a timely manner. Just called to see if placing a take out order is a possibility so my wife could pick it up on her way home from work. Busy signal for ten attempts... okay, understandable at 5:20 pm. Finally get through and I don't even say a word. I get some garbled rushed, "Santiago, blah blah blah hold." Someone needs training in proper customer service. You should acknowledge me, at least allow us both to say, "Hello;" then ASK if I would hold for a few mins please. I sat on hold for over eight mins before giving up. Guess what? Crazy concept, but my time is valuable and I'm also busy with work calls in between trying to spend money at your establishment. I'll just take my business elsewhere. read more

When I first tried Santiago's I was like.. ehhhh it's ok. But the more I have eat there, the more a fan I am. Probably one of our favorite things is their "Nacho's". They aren't what you would expect as nacho's, but they are very good. Try ordering a side of carnitas to put on top. Their Guac is always very good, their green chili is probably what they are known best for, and it is probably one of my favorites. I generally get the 1/2 & 1/2 (Half mild, Half spicy), but if I'm in the mood for real spice I'll get the hot. It packs a kick, but it not hot enough to blow your taste buds out so you taste nothing but hot. I also enjoy the fact that their green chili doesn't over power everything else, like another local Mexican restaurant's does. read more

Santiago's is our favorite breakfast spot. They make the most delicious burritos on the planet! We love them smothered or plain. They put potatoes and a meat of the day and you can pick between mild green chili or half and half or hot. Their hot is on fire! I love their carnitas platter if we are eating lunch or dinner. It is so juicy and falls apart in your mouth. Santiago's is not a big restaurant but the food is always good. They keep it very clean and get you in and out fast. There is usually a long line out the door every morning but don't worry because they are fast and inexpensive. read more

Went there for dinner for the first time and after a very long wait finally got my order. Upon arriving home they had forgotten to include major part of order, how nice of them. When I contacted them to get my money back they said, oh sure come on by tomorrow morning we are open at 6am. They however were closed the followinf day, all day. If you're looking for fast, tasty, straightforward Mexican, Santiagos is it! The breakfast burritos are tasty and priced correctly at ~$2.50 per. They're on the small side however so you'll need at least 2 if not 3 in order to be satisfied. The lunch/dinner burritos are significantly larger at ~$8.50 so it'll only take one to be satisfied and then some! They are very good also but it seems as though the medium salsa is just a 50/50 mix of the mild and the hot so be forewarned that when you order medium that some bites will be spicy and others bland. Breakfast for 4 people will run about $20 and lunch/dinner about $35, without drinks, apps, dessert etc. read more

EMPLOYEE THREATENS MY DAD, OWNER DEFENDS EMPLOYEE? Hello, I'm sharing this experience with deep concern about an altercation that occurred between a Santiago's employee and my father. Last weekend we had family come visit us to celebrate my father's 50th birthday. Dad wanted to treat our guests to Santiago's for breakfast before they head out to the airport and fly back to Texas last Monday morning. Upon arriving at the drive-thru window, he and my uncle both witnessed a heated argument between two Santiago's employees for several minutes before they were attended to by one of the arguing employees, Eric. When my father received the order, he saw that there was a mistake and handed back a portion of the order to be rectified. Soon after, he realized he handed the wrong portion of the order to Eric and tried to get his attention to let him know. Eric was inattentive to his needs but eventually Dad got his attention from the drive-thru window. Eric approached the window visibly agitated and he chose to initiate my father with an unprofessional comment, "What is your problem, dude?" and continued to perpetuate a negative experience and an argument ensued. Dad insisted that he back way from the window and calm down so that he could explain the issue with his order. Eric would not calm down and eventually words were exchanged and my father became insulted. Fed up with Eric's behavior he threatened to throw the food back at the window and that's when Eric chose to conclude the altercation with another unprofessional comment, "If you do, it'll be the last thing you do!" Feeling provoked and threatened, my father drove away without a refund and without the food he paid for. One could only surmise the meaning of that comment, "If you do, it'll be the last thing you do!", and for that reason I wish my father had contacted the police immediately thereafter for legal reasons. You see, we had celebrated my father's 50th birthday this past weekend and this whole incident is riding on the heals of something so much more meaningful and positive. Dad is a patient man and rather than escalate such a random but explicit incident with police intervention, he thought better of it and contacted Santiago's corporate headquarters instead. One would think that an established and reputable business like Three Margaritas or Del Taco would at the very least launch an investigation and go out of their way to rectify an issue like this by refunding my father's money and perhaps placing the offending employee on probation or even terminating their employment. I would also think businesses like Taco Bell and Qdoba's would not only rectify the issue at hand but also go above and beyond in their efforts to recoup my father's business. So one must wonder, what does a company like Santiago's do? After my father had reported this whole incident to Santiago's corporate headquarters, he received a call later that afternoon from the store owner, Martina Casados. At this point, my father is wanting some kind of closure to what he dealt with that morning and a solution to his immediate problem which is he paid for food he didn't receive and was threatened by a Santiago's employee. Instead, Martina Casados defended the actions of her employee and actually accused my father of being a "problem customer" and that she did not find this surprising. He also found out that Eric, the employee who threatened him, was actually Martina's son in this family operated restaurant. This is how the incident that occurred one Monday morning at the Santiago's Frederick location was handled and how it stands today. I for one am convinced now that the Santiago's locations in Frederick and Lafayette have serious managerial issues and provide a dishonest service to their respective communities. read more

Santiago's is one of my favorite restaurants ever. I went faithfully 3x week to Ft Lutpon. Then I moved to Johnstown now I eat there So I decided to meet a friend 1/2 way She lives in Brighton. We chose Fredrick. First off there is No waitresses. You get in line order, pick it up on paper plates. It was weird getting a side of beans, a side of chili and a side of rice all in little containers. I just wanted it all on a plate smothered ready to eat. My beans and rice were cold. I thought my cheese I requested would be melted on top my whole meal it came as a side. So I don't know maybe get some waitresses make the food hot. Don't put all the food in little containers but on one big plate even if its paper plate. I went for to eat in not take out. read more

Great place for Mexican food! I've been there a million times and never been dissatisfied. I've heard some negative customers while I've been there and I wouldn't put much stock in their reviews. The people like that who I've seen there are usually just abusing the employees over mistakes that everyone makes, even when the employees go above and beyond to remedy situations. They almost always mess up my order. They even have a sign that says please check your order before you leave at the drive through window. Today I checked my order and went into to tell them it was not correct and they said I got what I paid for so I could pay to get what I ordered. So the girl took my order incorrectly, but I have to pay to fix it. They have messed up my order so much that I stopped eating there. I thought I would give them another chance.
