I had to make a run to the nearby grocery store and I decided to enjoy a sit down meal. I don't recall what I ordered because it wasn't that memorable. I do remember how bad the service was throughout the visit. Our somewhat young waitress spent an inordinate amount of time hanging out at a table of young construction workers. My opportunity to place my order took a while, my food took a while and after several attempts I was able to aquire my ticket so I could leave. We took a night away from home (Greeley). Thought we would get some dinner and choose this restaurant! What a disappointment! We ordered queso for an appetizer. Then ordered dinner. Queso never came! My daughter ordered a side of rice and a long hair was mixed into it. Our waitress did well with bringing her fresh rice. But then never came back to check on us or offer drink refills. Had a quick trip to CO and of course I had to find Mexican food. It's authentic! Mexican approved! We ordered steak tacos and it came with frijoles, the dinner was great. No salsa verde, only roja, but that's okay, we love all salsas. The Jamaica was good, but the horchata let me down, it was good, but all the powder settled on the bottle and it was grainy. Been here multiple times in the last couple months since we just moved to the area. The service has always been very nice. The food has ups and downs such as I would like the green chili to be more spicy as well as some of it is a little plain tasting but all in all it's been a good go to. Oh my gosh, I wish this place was closer! I had chicken fajita salad. Chicken and onion were flavorful (I ordered without bell peppers). Refried beans under salad. Never had that before, but good too! My son went crazy for the queso. Delicious salsa and warm tortillas chips...so good! Hope to get back again soon! Was our regular spot for 2 years, but recently it's gone downhill fast. Portions getting smaller, prices going up. Issues with food missing ingredients (ordered beef, got chicken), or dishes missing entirely from the order and having to be made separately while the rest of the food gets cold. We just moved from Thornton to Frederick and have been looking for a good neighborhood place for good Mexican food. We went for the first time tonight. Waited about 15 minutes to even place our drink order. Fast forward to the food. We order, then our waitress came back a couple minutes later and said they're out of green Chile and it would be an hour u til more was ready (main star of both our dishes.) We opted to get tomatillo sauce instead. We get the bill- they actually charged us each $.50 cents for the tomatillo sauce! Thankfully my husband caught it and the waitress gave us a dollar back in change. Our waitress was very sweet, but overall, it was a let down. Hacienda Jalisco has become my family's favorite restaurant ~ not only in Boulder County, but beyond. The food is absolutely scrumptious, and the staff go above and beyond basic service in order to make your experience there excellent. The owners are marvelously gracious & who make themselves available around the restaurant. His servers are on point, particularly one there named Israel. He is a genuinely friendly, charming, and so stellar in his table service, All of the women servers are wonderful there as well. As with Israel, they are kind & accommodating. Regarding the food offerings ~ the sizzling fajitas are the absolute best I have ever had. And I am half Hispanic! I almost always order the steak, pork & shrimp fajitas, mixed together. The seasoning is just perfect, and the meat is cooked to perfection. The guac & the salsa recipes are better than my own family's. Even when I am on a ketogenic diet, I sometimes let myself splurge on Jalisco's rice, their freshly steamed tortillas, the mango chicken entree, oh, and the flan and the fried ice cream are divine. I could go on. We have never had a bad or even a mediocre meal at the place, nor has the takeout ever been disappointing. Regarding the drinks ~ the margaritas are pleasers (my husband always orders several) and the house wines are quite nice, which is what I almost always order to go along with my fajita feast. The strawberry daiquiris are also a treat. My family has become such regulars that my 7 year old daughter has her own special cranberry drink, with a salted rim and maraschino cherry. We have spent birthday dinners there and they have been a blast. If it's your birthday, ask to wear the giant sombrero! Went there for menudo and we were very disappointed. The large bowl was almost entirely broth with very little tripe and even less hominy. Waited 10 minutes for the server to greet us and take our drink order, waited another 12 minutes for a beer and margarita that never came and we left. NOBODY on the patio had drinks or food and they were asking the kind lady getting us chips to check the bar for our drinks. That was the only time anyone got their beverages. 9/07 we went for dinner ~7:30pm and the restaurant was ~1/3 full. Seated right away and sat for over 10 minutes while waitresses walked by or stared at us from the bar. No greeting, no chips and salsa, no "I'll be right with you" and no acknowledgement from any wait staff. I get flan at every single Mexican restaurant and carneceria and this one is by far the best. Only one ever comparable to homemade custard my grandma used to make when I was a kid, have never found one as good as her cooking since this place. Sometimes I come here for lunch while my work truck is being serviced. I've never been disappointed. They have fresh made salsa that is very well balanced and not very spicy at all so even those who don't like it hot will enjoy it. So far I've tried burritos and chimichangas but today I tried the Mole' Enchiladas! Absolutely amazing! The flavors are so complex yet subtle. I don't know if it's their best dish but it is hands down the best mole' sauce I've ever had. They also have an extensive alcoholic beverages but alas, with me eating here in my lunch breaks I've never tried any. Anyways, I highly recommend this restaurant! Enjoy. read more
