It doesn't look like much from the outside but some of the best food I've enjoyed over the years came from places like it Our waitress was very good, attentive but not bothersome. The chips and salsa were good,I like thick and chunky salsa. I ordered chili rellenos which is my go to Mexican dish. The rellenos weren't very big, a little chewy, not great but ok. Very expensive compared to any other Mexican restaurants nearby. $4 for an iced tea? These prices made us only order waters here. Im not paying $4 for a glass of instant tea. Crazy. Everything here is about $3 - $4 more than other Mexican joints in Longmont or Dacono or anywhere really. The kid's burrito and taco was an average deal at $9.35, but given the quality of the food, even that was not a good value. The ceviche was $19.99 for an average amount of ceviche with 5 slices of avocado and 3 tostadas. Slightly overpriced, but the quality was not good. Chewy fish that was not fresh and lukewarm shrimp. I only ate about half because it was not good. I hope I don't get sick. Wife had the burrito cho cho for $17. She said it was a decent portion but it was too salty. Still not a good value. $3.11 for an extra basket of chips? (See menu pictures) Are you kidding? I can buy a whole bag for less. Average service. Nothing stood out about it. We live relatively close, but we would drive past this overpriced place to drive 10 minutes south and have waaayyy better quality food for normal prices. Rumbo 52 and/or Casa Cortez are both within 10 minutes of here, so how is this place still in business? Needless to say, we will definitely NEVER RETURN HERE. read more

The service was terrible! My husband's plate came out 15 minutes before mine and my mother's plate. She brought out the guacamole salad for me 10 minutes after my husband's but not the rest of the combination I ordered. When my plate came out the flouta was tiny and flat. What this place DOES have is "Chicken Quesadillas" but instead of how 99.9% of Mexican Restaurants make their quesadillas, Rancheros does it a little differently. Their "chicken quesadillas" are covered in goopy slop nacho cheese and filled with random ingredients like mushrooms and tomatoes....things I didn't sign up for. Drinks are always great, service is good as long as they're not understaffed, but we don't mind because we love it so much! PRICES!!!!! I've been eating here every now and then, couple, three times a year. I've recommended this place to many people too. I like the food, the service. Lately I've just been concerned with what I get for my $! When I order a steak, I don't want a skirt steak that is 1/4" thick that is 40% fat! After a short 5 hour drive today I parked at Richie Brothers auction around the corner and down the road a bit. A hot meal sounded delicious, so here I am. The restaurant shares a building with 4rivers JohnDeere dealer. I arrived about a half hour before closing and there were no more than 15 guest that were at various stages of dinner. I was seated, given a menu with a basket of chips and awesome salsa, it was warm but I like it that way. She took my drink [ water ] order and returned. There were several things on the menu that caught my eye, and I finally decided on the Fajitas Rancheras, I was sold on the bacon mixed in with chicken, beef and the usual veggies. It came out in a few minutes sizzling on a cast iron skillet with a side plate of beans, rice, lettuce, pico, and sour cream. My only complaint was that it came with three street taco size flour tortillas. I did have a choice of corn or flour. For dessert I ordered the sopapilla with ice cream. They came right out of the fryer with a tiny drizzle of honey and brown cinnamon sugar on them. A perfect size of ice cream was there to complement them. Good thing I had a mile walk back to my truck after this meal. I have marked this place in my gps for a good meal. read more

Ridiculous service. These people will take your money, waste your time, and ignore you. Placed a delivery order. No show and no update for 2 hours. Tried calling them to get an update- well within their business hours and long before they closed. They picked up the phone and hung it back up. Found out my order was arbitrarily cancelled by the restaurant after being in contact with Grubhub for half an hour. If you need Mexican food in this area- GO LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE. Despite, the amazing reviews I've seen on this place I completely disagree. So here's the truth: I stumbled upon this place due to one of my favorite breakfast places (The Red Roost please check this place out) being closed. My friend and I entered the restaurant (about 9am) and there was no one there besides us, THE WHOLE TIME (Bad sign guys). Menu was filled with plenty of options on your typical Mexican food. I ordered a smothered steak burrito with their "spiciest" sauce, and my friend ordered a smothered chicken burrito with a tostada on the side which was completely soggy by the time she was going to eat it. Sauces were definitely lacking in flavor. Rice, not bad. Chips and salsa were not good either. As a Mexican-American, take my advice! You will be disappointed in the food. read more

I really wanted to like Rancheros but it just didn't do it for me. Service is quick and the people seem really nice. The free chips and salsa was good but not great. The salsa was actually very tasty with the right amount of heat. I would say mild with a little kick. Wednesday is 1 dollar hard taco night. Good price but disappointing . It basically was a TACO BELL taco but not as tasty. I also ordered the Enchilada Especial which comes with one cheese one beef and one chicken enchilada . The chicken was really good . Lots of white chicken meat. The bean enchilada was nice and moist . However I do not recommend the beef enchilada because it had the same ground beef that is in their hard taco. I may come back to try their other dishes. For you drinkers, there is a full bar/margarita bar. read more

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in the state. I have eaten here twice now, once having the Fajita Rancheras, and once having a chimichanga. The fajitas were spectacular, the meats cooked till tender, the onions and peppers still having a bit of snap to them and the pico de gallo so fresh it deserved to be slapped. The Chimichanga, on my second visit was a work of art. The tortilla covering fried so crispy that you could hear the shell crack when you tapped it with your fork, even through the generous portion of delicious green chile coating it. I am a huge fan of this place. In fact writing this has me convinced that I'll be going there for lunch today. read more

Stopped in there today for the first time in quite a while. I ordered the special which was a carnitas burrito. Waitress was nice and kept all of us filled on drinks. Food took quite a while but it was during the lunch rush Got my burrito and was really disappointed. It was full of strips of bell peppers as the main ingredient. Carnitas were hard to find. Mediocre overpriced food, mediocre service, overpriced watery drinks. We sat on the very full patio, surrounded by parties of 5, 7 and about 12. Each table was served one or two plates at a time, first to that table then to the next. Some people were getting their meals served as their friends were finishing up. The pork dish we had ($16) was very fatty, and the other dish was nothing special. The waiter who was very nice and seemed eager to please, never came to remove any empty plates from Anyone on the patio, while we did observe him leaning against the door on his cell phone. Don't be fooled into thinking that a Mexican restaurant will always have good margaritas. We ordered "double" margaritas. They tasted watered down, and we could hardly taste tequila. This was a very pleasant surprise. We are driving from Denver to Cheyenne and wanted to find lunch that wasn't fast food. The outside looked a bit sketchy and industrial but inside was adorable. We were there at an odd hour (3pm) so we were the only ones sitting to eat. Service was great and the food was fresh and delicious! The salsa is spicy and the guac was a perfect compliment to it.
