What a wonderful dining experience! Our family stopped by for dinner last night and loved everything. The restaurant has a really nice ambiance, the service was excellent, and the staff was incredibly kind. As for the food, the kids devoured their chicken shawarma wraps, and my husband really enjoyed the shish kabobs. I had the fantastic tabbouleh salad (customized with chicken at my request), and we ended the night with the baklava. I'm usually very picky about it, but this version was absolutely delicious. Had a craving for gyro recently, and came across Casa Pita just from looking around on line. All I wanted was a quick and simple gyro sandwich for lunch. It turned out, CP is a proper sit down restaurant, but they also do take outs. I decided to grab a table and had lunch on premise. The menu looks interesting with some Mexican influenced dishes among a plethora of Greek/Mediterranean fare. Sticking with my original plan, i ordered the gyro. The food came quickly, and the presentation almost popped my eyes out of their sockets. Instead of a sandwich, the gyro meat was on a skewer hanged vertically from a metal hook. At the bottom of it lies a large piece of pita bread topped with lettuce, onion, tomatoes, etc ... and a small container of yogurt sauce (see photo). Wow. The fanciest gyro order I've ever had. At first bite, the meat is slightly crispy on the outside with the usual gyro meat texture on the inside.it might've been fried quickly, but not greasy. My taste bud approved. I finished the meal thanking myself for discovering CP. As I was leaving, the chef came out to get some feedback. I complimented him on the food, and found out that these folks are the same ppl who were behind Sinbad restaurant located at University /Euclid, but is now closed. No wonder the food is excellent as I remember how good Sinbad's food was. I have already planned my next visit to CP to try their lamb shank, which I expect to be another outstanding meal. Before I forget, let me mentioned that excellent gyro meal I had cost $12.00 + tax and tips. That's a very reasonable price considering a tasteless sandwich from any fast food restaurant and a drink cost you over $15.00 nowadays. Also, the restaurant is clean, and there's ample parking due to their location. I wrote this review to honor the ppl behind CP. Else, I'd keep this secret to myself, but I believe it's too late for that. read more

I had lunch here today with a couple of friends. There is a long menu with breakfast, lunch and dinner options. I ordered the egg feta samoon ($10). A samoon is an Iraqi flatbread, like a pita but larger. Anyway, it was basically an egg sandwich. I liked it. The bread is softer than most pitas. My friends both got za'atar omelets ($12), which came with a side of hash browns. I tried them, too. The omelet was tasty; the hash browns were pretty much standard American hash browns, but a very large portion. Both my dish and the omelets were nicely but not excessively spiced. Service was good. Dinner entrees are mostly $20 or $25, but the breakfast items and sandwiches are $8 to $15. The space is bright and airy. read more

We were excited to try this new place! Service was attentive, and there was plentiful seating inside. You could also see the outside seating area, but absolutely not in this heat!! I liked that there were flags displayed throughout the restaurant, and the staff was even wearing Mexico jerseys for the World Cup. I also loved the decor on the walls, and the space was overall inviting, open, and bright with the large windows. The food is also delicious. There are plenty of options on the menu, including breakfast, but we opted for lunch. For the appetizer, we tried the feta dish and, well, it was disappointing. We expected some sort of hummus-like feta dish since the description (if I remember correctly) mentioned it coming with pita. Regardless of whether we misunderstood the dish, the appetizer itself was fairly mediocre with feta cheese, olives, tomatoes, and lettuce. The Mixed Grill Combo was definitely the MUST TRY and WILL RETURN dish. It came with beef shawarma, gyro, and chicken pieces served with rice. Shawarma is traditionally made by slowly roasting seasoned meat on a vertical spit and shaving off thin slices as it cooks, which helps develop a flavorful and tender bite that is absolutely worth a try! The hanging skewer presentation was also a fun detail and definitely added to the experience. The Lamb Chops were okay, but for the price, they were quite small and seemed closer to lamb loins than traditional chops. The flavor was not bad, but this is something we would likely pass on next time. The portion sizes are also on the smaller side in our opinion compared to other places for the prices. Overall, this was a delicious experience, and we would return! The Mixed Grill Combo alone is worth coming back for! read more

WOW - Casa Pita is amazing and probably the best Mediterranean food I've had. Everything was so incredibly delicious. Located in the old La Frida space at Grant/Craycroft (there is still a wall or window with La Frida on it :) ), the place feels homey and comfortable. Service is welcoming and great. We were immediately served water with fruit and cucumber in it - such a nice, refreshing twist from a simple lemon. I had the chicken shawarma plate and my guy had the gyro plate. Both were very impressive looking, especially the gyro pate served on a kebab plate with the meat hanging over the plate. Such a cool way to serve. Everything was perfectly seasoned and delicious. For dessert we had Kunafa and Dubai chocolate cake. I've never had Kunafa and they had just made it that morning. So interesting and unique. All the flavors combined along with the rosewater syrup and soft cheese...chef's kiss! the Dubai chocolate cake was delicious as well. I look forward to returning to Casa Pita. read more

My first time at this mom and pop restaurant and I can't believe how delicious and amazing this little place is! The gyro plate is a whole eating experience! And the place is clean and wholesome! Mama amna herself was in the restaurant and that just shows how much heart and soul go into the food served at this restaurant! From delicious appetizers succulent food and tasty desserts!! I don't think my husband and I even left a crumb on our plates! Absolutely amazing and would recommend every single time! We had dinner here and it was rather inexpensive for how delicious it was! Casa Pita is bright, open, pretty, and immaculate. The food fragrance was delightful and welcoming. We were greeted and immediately seated upon arrival. Our server brought ice water with lemons and cucumbers with menus and assured she would be happy to answer any questions we might have. The menu is extensive: two pages of breakfast choices (that all sound delicious), and additional pages of appetizers, salads, entrees, platters, and desserts. And I must add that the menu is beautiful with its colors and graphics. My friend ordered the beef shawarma in pita, which was huge and came with a lovely salad. She also chose the falafel appetizer. I enjoyed one of them and it was probably the best falafel I've had: delicate in texture and assertively seasoned and spiced. I ordered the mixed grill, which is chunks of lamb and chicken, rice, pita, hummus, and salad. Both the lamb and chicken were flavorful, tender, and juicy. My meal was presented on and in 3-D fashion; visually arresting and I've never seen anything like that before. Everything was delectable and so fresh, and portions are generous. Wife has been bugging me to go here for awhile. I like Mediterranean food but I do not go out of my way for it. Most the preparations are chopped or cubed cubed proteins, a mountain of rice and a lightly dressed lettuce salad. Just doesn't make my culinary heart sing. The location itself is nice. Open, airy and brightly lit. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. We went in early (think linner) so it was not busy. I ordered the lamb shank plate and my wife got the Casa Pita Grill Mix (a mixture of meats - chicken and beef shawarma, gyro meat) I had a coke with my meal, she had a hibiscus lemonade. Food arrive and as expected my lamb shank was cut into cubes. But it was very tender, very juicy and had a lot of great flavors. I enjoyed it, about a quarter of the rice, some of the salad and the pita that came with the meal. The humus was fantastic! My wife's meal was delicious too. Apparently they make the gyro meat in house so it was not the normal thin whimpy piece of gyro meat you would normally expect. I took some tastes and all of it was great. As we were leaving I got a freshly juiced pineapple drink. What can I say, refreshing and tasty. All and all, positive experience and I would go back. read more

Came here the first time and I really like their food but the service was not so good. We waited for a long time upon seating and no one brought us the menu. I had to go to the front and grabbed our menu. No one really checked in with us to take our orders and we waited for more than 10-15 min for someone to take our orders after we voiced our frustrations. The service is in need of improvement since no one really check in with us much during the dining. Food: the food is pretty good. We got the baba ghanoush and it is pretty good ! The flavor came together well with a smoky touch. We got chicken biryani, which was diff from other spots that make biryani. As you can see from my picture, I got 2 chicken on top of a bed of rice. The chicken was very well done and perfectly moist and cook. The rice was also very good and moist instead of dried up like Arizona desert. I love this dish and I would get it again. We also got a beef kabob like plate and the meat was also seasoned very well. Overall their food is great with good seasoning that is unique to this spot. I love their food and I would give their food rating a 4/5. However, their service is in need of improvement. I would still come back and try other dishes in hope of better service for the future. read more

Everything here was pretty fantastic! I went with my friends since we wanted to check out local food with a Mediterranean flair. I ordered the falafel sandwich. The presentation was outstanding! You get a pita in a plate with all the trimmings and the falafel in hanging on a skewer above the plate. The falafel was a bit overcooked but it was still tasty, especially with the hummus. For a drink I ordered the mint lemonade which was one of the best that I have had in Tucson. It was the perfect blend of lemon and mint and it wasn't overly sweet, just totally refreshing! For dessert we wanted to try the kanafa which, compared to what we had in Israel and Jordan, it was a tiny bit disappointing but the mixture of gooey cheese, cream and shredded filo was still good. All the pastries in the case looked amazing. They have a video board that shows pictures of places in the Mediterranean. Overall, everything was wonderful. The service was superb and you have a wonderfully relaxing experience just enjoying all the fantastic foods. There are so many choices, I'll have to come back for many more visits. read more

I read their wonderful transition story as they rebuilt into this venue following personal loss via the pandemic and closure of their campus (Sinbad's) location. We were looking for later eats on a Monday night (a challenge in Tucson) and were happy to learn that this bucket-list restaurant was not only open at 7:30p but it's open 7 days/week 8a-10p with a robust M.E. bfast menu too! Things were winding down (less than half full) and service was excellent and attentive. We opted for one Gyro salad style ($15) and one Kofta Kabab plate ($20). They arrived within 10 minutes with both meats dangling from traditional serving stands (see pics). I had read that the owner came across those on a recent trip to the Middle East and thought they would add a nice touch to her entrees (they do)! The food was delicious - well seasoned meats, soft rice, fresh and crunchy veggies and delicious sauces, including their Tzatziki (yogurt-based sauce). The 4 little falafels ($10) were a bit pricey for the size but excellent - warm with a nice crunch before reaching the soft center. My small critiques are that the music was waaaay too loud and the slices of pita that came with each entree were not warmed. I also think that the quantity of meat (vs other local M.E. restaurants) is on the stingier side. For dessert we were seriously eyeing their popular Dubai chocolate cake but heard they had a fresh batch of Kunafa and we opted for that at a very reasonable $8. It is made with crunchy phyllo dough over a layer of mild akkawi (similar to mozzarella) cheese, drizzled with ghee, baked, and then drizzled with a sweet floral syrup (think sweetened rose/orange water). It's differently delicious and somewhat difficult to find but worth the hunt. This definitely had us leaving on a nice high note and eager to return to try their lamb and shawarma entrees as well as ME bfast. The restaurant is hard to spot - tucked in the back/corner with a prominent "Frida" sign at the top?Parking is free/easy in the large general lot of this gym-anchored strip mall. Small note: there's a 3% charge for credit cards. Also, increasingly businesses are calculating the tip After the tax has been added. It's a minor but nonetheless unconsented-to inflation of the tip. Someone over at Chuze told us about Casa Pita. He had it wrong when he said it was Freida's Mexican in the morning ( the previous place) and a Mediterranean at lunch and night. We thought that was novel and best of both worlds. We walked over at dinner time and were pleasantly surprised. The service was super enthusiastic and explained some of the dishes. It was clean though too bright. Fluorescent lighting didn't match the warmth of the place. The chicken was moist and well flavored and very different than zayna. I really like their food and casa is closer. It's apples and oranges actually. We will return and try breakfast. The Lentil soup was different from what I am used to. I think the restaurant is Iraqi. Zayna could be Lebanese and coffee x change is Persian Iranian. Each one of these places has their own distinct flavor. Lentil was creamy style blended. Just really awesome food. I simply haven't gone wrong with any part of their menu, whether takeout or sit down a couple times. Highly recommend their chicken shawarma plate and sandwiches, especially if you request samoon bread. Sitting inside is a cozy vibe, and the staff is always very welcoming. I found this place by accident, thinking it was still the old restaurant that used to be here. I'm glad this mixup happened because Casa Pita was amazing! I had the chicken shawarma sandwich and my friend got the lamb. The shawarma was very flavorful, and the lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender. The portions were huge and prices were very fair for the amount of food we got. We also got the kunafa for dessert and it was some of the best kunafa I've had...it had a nice light citrus flavor, which I loved. Service was great, the staff and especially the owner were very attentive and friendly. I'm so glad this restaurant is here and I look forward to returning with more people! read more

The portions were great. The pita was fluffy, the hummus delicious, the tzatziki sauce was better than average. The kataifi dessert was absolutely amazing. The brownie was delicious.
