It's a small, personal place, and the owner, Kim, is warm and welcoming. She offers a variety of classes, from gentle (yin) to hatha to power yoga. The gentle yoga classes are great for people who are just getting into yoga and/or have injuries that have prevented them from trying yoga before. Kim and the other instructors are always very patient and make sure new people take their physical limitations into account when doing any of the positions. The instructors are very "hands on," and In all the classes, they go around and make sure we're doing the positions correctly so we get the most out of them. The classes are invigorating and often challenging (even the gentle ones), but they always end with shavasana--which is about 10 minutes of relaxation and (for those who can) meditation. I always leave feeling more relaxed, more energized, and more focused than when I came in. This is not a place for Type A people. Classes don't start exactly when they should, and sometimes they go over their 90-minute allotment. But if you want a yoga studio where the instructors and the students care about one another and care about creating great energy, I think you'll really love this place too.

Her skill level is high at baseline, plus she teaches massage therapy at a local training institute so she is always up-to-date on new and innovative techniques. I prefer Swedish massage but occasionally needed lymph drainage or more medical massage due to workout injuries and she always delivered--light pressure, deep pressure, she does it all! She seems to be one of those people who is a lifelong learner, so when I would ask about a technique or something to assist, she was always consulting books and colleagues in between our sessions and improving her craft. Plus, her professionalism is superb--she always confirmed my massages, ensured we had a good schedule, and communicated clear expectations about what to expect and cost. The price is perfect--it's just enough to where I believe she is being fairly compensated for her work, low enough to where I can afford it 2x/month, and she did not nickel and dime me ($10 for hot stones, $5 for essential oils), like some other places. Her goal seems to be to treat the person's needs and works in a wide range of skills and tools. The ambiance is nice, too. It's on the second floor of an office building, so it has that office feel outside. But in her room, it's organized, and has elements to adjust to your comfort--various lighting, temperatures, and blankets.

Today I received a 90 minute session and wow wow is all I have to say. 30 minutes of reflexology and 60 minute massage/bodywork. AMAZING! I believe my lady's name was Cici and she was fantastic! I had told her about some neck issues I was having and she really dug into that area, in addition to my lower back (which I've been having issues but never mentioned). I think she could tell as she was feeling for tenseness and such. This place is more of reflexology/thai massage type place so more use of other body parts to massage (elbows, forearms, etc...) not just fingers. They also had the pole for walking on your back if you're into that and request it.
