I would give this 5 stars. It was my first time dining here. It is one of the best sushi places I've been to. I'm not sure if there are any of them where I live, hopefully there are, because I would 100% go there again. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. We originally tried to go to Sake Roll, but that place is so tiny and there was a wait for a table. My husband was hungry and we have two young kids, so when we saw this place was across the street we decided to give it a try. The staff was incredibly friendly. They brought us a complimentary hot appetizer, which she called a sushi boat, and which was tasty and professionally presented. We ordered two bento boxes. My husband got mixed tempura, california roll and teriyaki salmon. I got mixed tempura, bulgogi and the 4 piece sushi. Both came with miso soup. For our older daughter, we got a kids meal, which is a generous serving of teriyaki chicken, california roll and gyoza and comes on a cute kids plate. The younger one just shared with the rest of us. The food was good and the price was definitely reasonable for the amount of food. I was particularly happy with the mixed tempura. Really nice mix of vegetables and not skimpy with the shrimp. The bulgogi had just a touch of heat, which was nice. As some other reviewers had mentioned, the nigiri and rolls are on the thin side, but I was definitely full by the end of the meal. (Plus, if I was doing AYCE, I would probably be happy to see the thin rolls. Get to try more variety without filling up on rice.) They also offered us some free ice cream, which my kids and husband happily ate and enjoyed. All in all, the food was fresh and we were pleased, but there is so much competition in the area, I do have a few suggestions if they really want to compete. (1) The complimentary appetizer came on a bed of mixed greens, but the salad in the bento was just cabbage. The cabbage salad was tasty and my husband particularly likes cabbage salad, but I think the bento would look more professionally presented with a mixed green salad like the appetizer. (2) I don't think the water tasted like "death in liquid form" like another reviewer said, but I can see why someone would have felt it tasted a bit off. Maybe it is the older plastic cups or the ice cubes are stored somewhere where they pick up a freezer taste? (3) Edamame. The food comes out fast but I do think that this is something people have come to expect. (4) Offer the lunch price on Sunday at lunch. I understand that people may eat a bigger meal for lunch on weekends, but if you are not busy, get people in the door read more

The staff was very friendly but just like some other reviewers I was not impressed. The water does taste funny I thought that was just me so I'm glad another reviewer said the same thing. Very small portions of fish and large portions of rice. The rolls are very boring. Not to mention that I had fish bones in several of my side sushi orders. More people need to discover this place! We pick this place usually over sushi show in san dimas cause we are tired of that place being packed 24/7. It's usually quiet whenever we go in here even on weekends. They give u lots of fish and minimal rice on the sushi. Their baked mussels are delicious! We actually haven't tried any rolls yet cause we are more of sushi people. But overall they give u good customer service and good sushi. read more

The food is delicious here... waitresses are friendly. Unfortunately you have to wait a really long time to get your food. They forgot about one of our orders at some point and other customers around us were getting charged for dishes they never received and others were also still waiting and they weren't even busy... can't imagine on a busy night. Sanyo is the new kid on the block, but is proving itself a heavy hitter in the Gtown sushi game. With a cool welcoming environment, friendly helpful servers, and most importantly delicious food. I highly recommend the Willybilly roll, but the servers are happy to make recommendations. Come in for lunch to take advantage of their combo deal or their happy hour. read more

I really like this sushi spot. The fish selection isn't the largest. However it is the freshest. The rice to fish ratio is perfect. I've visited twice and each time they have been friendly and the rolls are consistent both times. They remembered us on our second visit and were friendly both times. Another thing I enjoy here is they allow you to order anything from the menu. So your not limited to a small buffet menu. You can try any app, hand roll, specialty roll, maki roll, or sashimi. Decided to try this place after reading the positive reviews. I have to admit that I was not very impressed. For starters, the low sodium (green) soy sauce was sweating on the table like someone had just diluted it with ice water. Sure enough, when I poured some, the color was way off; like a really light brown. I looked at other tables so I could get a non-tampered with bottle, but they were all sweating. The oyster I got with the AYCE was really good. Too bad you only get one. The mussels were good too. The quality of the fish in general, was average at best, except the halibut, which was delicious. Rice ratio was inconsistent, but mostly, it was too much rice. Service was good and prompt, but unless something changes, I don't see myself going back. I wanted to like it. I really did. It's closer to me than my regular AYCE spot, but the fish quality pales in comparison. read more

This is hands down one of the best sushi spots I've had aside from Rolling Sushi in Rancho. I love that it's AYCE. I was never a fan of the raw stuff but this place changed that all for me. The best sushi ever! I've been to so many sushi restaurants in my lifetime and I still think this is my favorite. If you don't eat fish try the vegetable Asian roll which has spicy tofu and veggie tempura! So good. The honey roll and blossom have to be some of the best too.
