I hate to give bad reviews and rarely do but this is a SERIOUS WARNING for the health of customers to this place. Please read Went here valentines weekend with my wife. Got the all you can eat which is limited and not all you can eat (just a heads up). But whatever that's not the end of the world. Also while we were trying to eat we had a homeless guy come in going from table to table begging for someone to buy him sushi. When he got to us he had his hands all over our table and my shoulder with his hands and the staff were too scared to do anything about it. Lucky I was able to talk the guy into going back outside. But the worst part of the experience was coming home and waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to get far away from the toilet for what is now at this time been 6 days and I'm still in the bathroom at least once in hour. Went to the doctor yesterday and he told me I have salmonella. And it all makes sense because I remember telling my wife while we were eating that the fish on all the sushi's were not cold at all. And had little to no flavor. Like they had been sitting out for hours possibly days. I have missed an entire weeks worth of work which hurts my family financially as well which really sucks. But feeling like complete crap for 6 days and counting is miserable. I pray nobody else got sick the same night we were there but there was only 2 other tables with about 5 people other than my wife and I in there. So hopefully it didn't spread to far. Please do not eat sushi here! I do not want anybody to have to live through what I have had and still continuing to deal with. Working in Glendora, I've been able to go to this place many times. I've done the AYCE and lunch specials both of which I would recommend. For AYCE they had a special of about $21 for appetizers and rolls which is a great deal. It was a limited selection but it was good to fill in my AYCE fix. The lunch specials are also good value, they serve not just Japanese but Korean meals as well. The bento boxes are ok, the Korean stuff I really I find filling. I've had the seafood tofu soup and bibimbap on different occasions, both had generous portions and good flavor. It was also served with about 3 banchans width is not bad considering the price. The food came and was good, however the waiter this time, did not offer us the choice to pick the different type of all you can eat sushi package, assumed and gave us a premium. Which was 38$... This is one of our go-to AYCE spots! Not only do they have sushi, but they have a special Korean menu as well. The food is always delicious and the price for it is very decent. There's one sushi chef at a time so typically there is a small wait in between rounds. But that's OK since it allows us a chance to digest our food The ambience is nice, they have booths and tables for larger parties. We typically do take out unless we want AYCE. Unfortunately my rice was extremely overcooked (very mushy, sticking to my teeth) and for some reason the "manager" felt the need to confront me when I told my server I wasn't happy with my meal. Friday Lent. No place like sushi. We come here quite a bit for the friendly staff and AYCE sushi. Sashimi is fresh as well As the oysters and sushi. Sashimi salad is always on my list to Order. Tempura batter is usually light but somehow the visit before this was burnt (anything with a batter was cooked too long). Baked mussels was really good - like a very light teriyaki taste. The size of the rolls here are fairly large. For a basic California roll I would say this is 50% larger than California rolls from other places. The service was OK. I don't really like ordering off a tablet as it feels a little bit disconnected from the staff.The interior is nice bright modern. Came by the other night with a party of 4 and the waiter seemed stressed out and overwhelmed right away asking us what we wanted to drink and throughout the evening bringing our food. We did the all you can eat and they didn't even bring us all our food from the first & 2nd round. My only disappointment was they have no hot mustard but a sweet and sour sauce to dip. My Main dish was Chicken Yakisoba. Reasonably priced like $13 and was a huge plate. I started coming to Sushi Ara after my wife raved about it following her meal with her mom and brothers one day. Sushi Ara appeals to me for a number of reasons, all of which I'll eventually discuss below. Food: I'm starting to sound like a broken record, and although I haven't lost any friends or family over it, a number of people have expressed boredom with my constant evangelism for my strict pescatarian version of the Mediterranean diet. Anyhow, I am always on the lookout for a way to enjoy my favorite foods, even my so-called guilty pleasures, and Sushi Ara has answered the call. Although brown rice isn't an option here, they do have a number of "no rice" options, including at least two fresh rolls, the Jen-Jen and Honeymoon rolls. They also have several baked "no rice" rolls, but those are deep fried, so I can't speak to their quality; nevertheless, everything I've had here has been delicious, from the fresh rolls to the sashimi salad, so I feel confident that the other offerings are great, too. My wife loves the Korean menu here (yep, Japanese and Korean cuisine in one place!) as well as the AYCE menu. Service: The service is quick and efficient. We don't wait long to get menus or place drink/food orders. Food comes out quickly, and servers are polite, swift, and accurate. I like that we don't have to harangue the wait staff for refills, not even for my ice water. The staff take care of our needs, don't hover, and don't try to rush us out. What else can one ask for? Ambience: For whatever reason, Sushi Ara is never packed when we go. Granted, we tend to go in the middle of the afternoon between traditional mealtimes. I like not having to wait for a table. The restaurant is nice and cool, which is especially important in the summer, and the tables are clean. The staff are pretty quiet here, and they don't have loud music playing, so it's easy to carry on conversations without having to talk over the employees. Finally, because the place is casual and the staff nice, I'd say it's a pretty child-friendly eatery. There is usually at least one family with kids when we go. Overall, I enjoy it here, and I recommend it for a quick and casual sushi lunch/dinner when you are looking for a casual-yet-quality dining experience. Enjoy! read more

The AYCE sushi here is pretty great! They don't skimp on the portions like Aikan and the rolls are made very neatly and presented nicely. Some of our orders came out wrong, but they fixed them. I've been coming to Sushi Ara for a while now, and we were especially impressed with their menu during the pandemic. We love their AYCE menu. However, these days I don't indulge as much as I used to on my sushi bingeing. Their food here is always fresh, tasty, and prepared with care. Their sushi chef is super chill and very welcoming when you come in, and that's a cool thing when you're coming in from a hard day of work. My favorite rolls are the Route 66, the Black Dragon, and the Golden Tiger. They're pretty flavorful and right now they do have a special for some of the rolls on the menu for BYOG 1/2 off. So that's a pretty good deal. I was here recently to celebrate my birthday with my family and we had such a feast. They now also offer some delish additions to the menu from the Korean lunch menu like bibimbap, tofu soup and a few other items I want to try next time. If you live in the area, you really must try their food. The service is pretty good too, and the sushi chef is a doll. He greets everyone who comes in and is super jovial. I don't know about you, but someone who cares about their customers as much as he does when we walk in, is a good sign of a great place to eat. If I could give zero stars I would definitely do not recommend this spot. I ordered a tempura spicy tuna with cashier:Jackie she was really rude. Upon opening the "sushi" doesn't even look cooked I came here for my 30 min lunch break and I cannot eat it because it is not cooked all the way through. The quality looks really cheap. I called back to see if I could possibly come exchange it as I do not have any more breaks to go back and I close so by the time I'm done with my shift sushi ara is also closed. So if I could come back tomorrow to get something different she refused. As well as refused to give me a refund. I always get a dynamite roll and some cajun salmon/tuna nigiri. Purists might scoff at sushi that has been placed under a blowtorch but I love it! The asahi roll has spicy tuna, tempura shrimp and is layered with assorted fish sashimi on top. Truly fantastic all you can eat sushi. I cannot understand why this place is empty every time I visit. I'm giving this place a 3 because we only got two sushi rolls and what we looked forward to the most they said they didn't carry. I was really looking forward to the Tempura Cheesecake that was on their menu. One of the rolls was the Dynamite Roll which was all over good for a specialty roll. The other roll was the Garlic Butter Albacore. We got this to try something new, but were a bit disappointed. Garlic and butter on sushi just wasn't a good combination. Volcano roll 10/10 it was a baked roll that had a nice little surprise heat to it. The cucumber roll was really good 9/10 It had no rice and was very refreshing. Last but not least the bulgogi bento box 7/10 The meat was a bit tough and didn't have as much flavor than what I'm used to but I did enjoy the stubby kabob of veggies it came with.
