I just left Ezze Sushi thinking I WAY underpaid for my meal. Yes. You read that right. UNDERPAID. When I asked for the bill, I was fully expecting to pay about $200. I ordered excessively without regard for the bill and felt gluttonous. It was a Friday and I told my wife that we could just sleep it off tomorrow. "Lay Me Down" was excellent, with a really good balance of textures. I usually judge a sushi restaurant by the quality of its nigiri, and the o-toro was spot on--rich, properly cut, and served with real wasabi. The salmon was also fresh and cut correctly. We also tried the lobster roll, which was good but nothing particularly memorable, and the spicy tuna appetizer, which had a nice balance of flavor without being overdone. But their warm welcome extends beyond her. They seem so happy to see every customer when they walk in. They have such an extensive menu. My friends and I ordered so many menu items they all had such a unique and amazing taste. I didn't even need to dip any of them in soy sauce. The sushi chef there was amazing, not only in the art of sushi making but all the sushi and sashimi dishes we ordered, the sushi chef remembered without writing anything down. I'm so happy my family was able to finally make it out to ezze sushi because it definitely beat my expectations! Ezze sushi is located in a small plaza, and it could easily be overlooked if you don't know it's there. I was recommended to try it out by a friend, and my fiancé, our son, and I went for dinner on a whim. It's a pretty lofty yet small spot, with about twelve tables inside. The two servers that helped us out were great and so patient with us. They also brought over some toddler-friendly training chopsticks, which our kid had fun practicing with. We had no idea we got in during happy hour, and their specials list for this time is EXTENSIVE. There is definitely something offered for everyone and every taste on their happy hour menu. With that being said, we ordered a pretty healthy amount of dishes: the Monsters Inc roll, gyoza, tuna sashimi, Hairgrass roll, baked mussels, and a blue crab hand roll. We also ordered the udon for our kid (not offered on happy hour). This was honestly one of the more filling Japanese meals we've had in a while; the food came out quickly and was made fresh. The baked mussels, although they were teeny tiny, were very flavorful. My favorite was the Hairgrass roll, and my fiancé and I couldn't stop stealing sips of the udon (so simple yet so satisfying!). Their garlic edamame is not even cooked together it's just edamame with crispy garlic bits on top and they were cold. Their salad tasted like old spring mix and wilted cucumber. Their baked muscles were super super tiny and the mayo on top wasn't even baked even though they claimed it was. Their wasabi I kid you not smelled like floor cleaner. This is my go to sushi/hand roll spot! I'm a proud regular at Ezze, to the point that when I call in, they already remember my dietary restrictions/food allergies. The quality to cost comparison is unbeatable! The food is always fresh and the cuts of fish are delicious. We typically order pickup on our busier days but we LOVE when we have the chance to go dine in because the service always elevates the experience even more. The staff is so nice and attentive. We'll pull up a seat at the sushi bar and chat with the chef about menu items they are experimenting with, or make small talk while watching the game. Either way, it's always enjoyable. The restaurant itself isn't large so don't expect multiple booths for seating, but their setup is just right. It's never felt overcrowded when we've gone, and we always leave feeling satisfied. Last night when we went to pick up our order the lady up front made us wait outside, it was surprising and hurtful to be treated this way. We are very sad, don't understand why?
