Great beach bar. The fish tacos were excellent. Great drinks. Limited seating. Downfall--cruise excursion destination, so it is crowded.

The beach bar itself has a great vibe. Right on the ocean, various entertainment different nights of the week and the food is pretty good. The drinks are hit or miss depending on who is making them, but the bartenders just have an overall bad attitude. They aren't friendly, won't even say hello or be right with you. One guy basically just grunted at me when I ordered. We would also like to see more locals working the bar, not just cleaning or cooking. From what I can tell, most of them are there temporarily and don't really have to give a F because they know you are going to drink and eat any way and be gone in a week. One local basically told us we aren't pretty or young enough to get good service because the young bartenders are just looking to hook up and party. If we weren't staying at the resort (making it convenient for us) we would not have gone back. Get rid of the bad attitude bartenders and bring in some locals! read more

This grill/bar is located on Sapphire Beach, of course. While the beach is generally filled with cruisers who are already full, I don't think that they serve a lot of food. Most of the patrons are sitting at the bar getting their fill of alcohol. I ordered a burger at the bar, which came with a bag of chips. We sat at a table facing the beach and the tens of people visiting Sapphire Beach that day that four ships were in town. The burger came out in a brown bag and although it was a bit messy, it was quite tasty. My husband ordered the Hawaiian chicken sandwich. It came out pink and undercooked, so he sent it back. I tried the replacement and it was tasty. The gentleman who brought out the replacement was very apologetic, so it wasn't that big of a deal. The drinks are quite inexpensive in comparison to most bars in the area. And she wasn't very stingy on the pours. This would've definitely been my drink spot if I had been staying a bit closer, at one of the many Sapphire Beach condos. read more

We weren't the biggest fans of the Sapphire Beach Bar. It seemed very touristy and like where all the college kids stayed if they were coming to the island. It was a little trashy and didn't give off a nice resort vibe. Overall it was a little dirty and run down. We ordered hot dogs and beers from the bar. I'm not sure if there were any waiters, I believe everything had to be ordered at the bar. I thought the hot dog was pretty good and I'm a big fan of the local beer in St. Thomas. Not a bad place to stop if you have an excursion nearby but no need to make a special trip. read more

Ok it's hard to top this beach which leaves me inclined to give 5 starts but the food is not so great and there is clearly something wrong with the water. Any drink ordered with ice tastes super funky. I can only give them 3 stars because of food and water quality. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger which is $2.00 more than a regular cheeseburger but doesn't even have a full slice of bacon. We also ordered the fish sandwich which was very thin and bland. The service is friendly and there are many seating options. Indoor, outdoor cabanas, also on the beach service. Ill always go to this beach but will definitely stick to beer and will bring my own snacks. read more

What a great fun place! Perfect little beach bar, with a great mix of regulars and visitors. Nikki and Josh always fixed me up with a delicious Bushwhacker. Food was always better than what you'd expect at a beach bar. Regular events like Full Moon parties, bands, and more keep everyone coming back for more. Kind of a rinky dink beachside bar at Sapphire Beach. It's what you'd expect - great, friendly servers and refreshing drinks. We didn't get any food, only drinks, but the food we saw (and smelled) looked great. If you're at the beach and need a drink, meal or snack I would recommend it, and not just because it's the only thing there. read more

You can tell this place used to be incredible. 4 years after hurricane things are still dilapidated however, and endless open breeze space for tables chairs and live music is caution taped off while you stand in like for bagged fried food instead of just letting us sit and eat there. It's a concession stand on a pretty beach. Humongous waste with incredible potential. Meanwhile restaurants in Boston are full capacity just do the silly mask rule and keep tables apart, these guys couldn't figure that one out. The bar tenders rush you and don't listen, are hasty and rude. Obviously tired of patron's and annoyed with us being there and it shows. You'd think they'd want the money to repair and get better. I hope one day it's fixed up and awesome again. Also it closes at 5 PM which is laughable. 3 stars for bomb location and great fish tacos. read more

Pathetic and over priced drinks. $9 for a painkiller that we finished in 2 sips. We didn't order food, but it smelled like food I wouldn't even feed to my dog, and over priced. The place is dirty. The service is terrible. It started to rain so everyone ran up from the beach to take shelter under the bar and the bartender kicked everyone out saying they couldn't hang out there, making them go 20 feet to the seating area outside the cafe to take shelter there. Absolutely ridiculous!!! The rain lasted a whole 10 min, you would think that being as slow as they are and hurting for business they would want to make people feel as comfortable as possible. They might have made a few dollars if they let people hang out for 10 min, but they would rather be rude and kick them out! The staff and management need to be replaced. read more

Food and drinks were very reasonably priced, fresh and quick ---- grilled fish sandwich is my recommendation but grilled cheese and hot dogs are monster sized and good for filling up the kids. Burgers are very solid too -- another reviewer posted a picture. Beachside waitresses were really attentive and offered good info for inquisitive tourists. Great, simple beach drinks --- frozen and on ice. Not terribly strong but solid drinks -- it helps to build up some tip karma via multiple visits...or have a bottle of your favorite cruzan rum in your beach bag and add some extra rum!! They also have public restrooms behind the bar and have live music frequently / weekends. read more

We love this beach! Kylie, Lori, and the other young lady who's name I didn't get were all very attentive and helpful in service on the beach. We tried almost everything on the menu during our stay. My favorite was the mahi sandwich. I was afraid to try it since I do not like fishy fish but this was awesome. Thanks Kylie for for the suggestions! My hubs loved the chicken jerk sandwich which comes with pineapple! The hotdog with cheese and bacon and the cheeseburger ranked right up there as well. Drinks were delicious and beer was cold! Fantastic fish tacos and drinks are good. Rum punch better than many other beach bars. Knocked off a star for atmosphere. Even though the tables have a beautiful view of the beach, there is construction going on right now on the new restaurant right next to the beach bar seating area. The noise is loud and unpleasant. Sapphire is a nice beach so you can always pick up your food and eat it on the beach further away from the construction. read more

We are here on our cruise excursion with Carnival and having such an amazing time I had to get on and leave a review right away! The beach Is beautiful, the food (fish tacos & chicken sandwich) are EXCELLENT, the drinks are amazing and the snorkeling is top notch. Horrible. The guy working the bar with bright blue eyes was so rude and made me very uncomfortable. My boyfriend, his younger brother and I went up to order food and drinks and we always ask what's best on the menu. He dismissively responded "uh they're all good". We ordered our food and he prompted each of us with "next". As I was the last to order, he asked for my ID. I was shocked honestly- the drinking age here is 18. I'm a member of the US Air Force and was offended when he saw my ID and said "you don't look older than 18". The drinks were subpar and the service sucked. I got our food and proceeded to tell the other bartender about my experience. He grabbed the manager who tried to excuse his behavior with "he's overworked". She told me he's "taking a two week vacation- if that helps"- trying to justify his rude behavior. She told me she's sorry and I told her I'm also sorry I spent sixty bucks on bad drinks. After all of that, as my boyfriend's family and I were leaving, he stared me down... eyes locked on me the whole time I walked by. Very creepy, disrespectful and uncomfortable to stare down a young woman like that. Do yourself and your wallet a favor- DO NOT come here. read more

The bartender Josh with short hair wasnt the friendliest and to be honest the service wasnt the best. I wish we had known that when we order the food we had to pick it up ourselves and nobody even scream a number or our name for us to know it was ready. PLEASE READ. I arrived in St. Thomas expecting to be greeted warmly by the first business to which I brought my finances and times....but I could not have been more far off from reality. After walking 2 miles and swimming for a while over to Sapphire beach, me and my military enlisted and active police officer sister stumbled upon what we thought was a friendly charming bar...the stark contrast to our beliefs left us baffled, angered, confused and humiliated on our first night of vacation. While standing in line without masks for 15 minutes for a crumby beach drink which we didn't even receive, we were shouted at, accosted and very inappropriately addressed by the bar tender. He announced "get out of here...NOW!!! You need to leave now!!!" All because we did not have masks on our person while exploring the beautiful OUTDOOR areas of this bar and beach, while holding napkins over our face upon realizing our error. Then, another worker came up to address us. This woman addressed us saying that we should stay. When I replied that we did not have them on our person, she began ordering us that we do not "come here without a mask" and stated "you people have lived here for a year and a half"....i replied to this unintelligible, void of understanding individual that we arrived today, from Florida, a mask free state. She continued to tell us that I was A, wrong for where I came from, and B, uninformed about the state I currently reside in. Couldn't be less impressed with the two bartenders of the bleak, drab, boring and uninspiring bar to which I was denied service, even though I most likely would have been dumping service there all week. If you go to St. Thomas and like being treated like a human, I recommend staying away from this "establishment" if you can even call it that. read more
