Inattentive. Went in after a theater production one evening. There were perhaps 4 people inside. Got ignored at a table near the bar so we moved to the bar hoping to get the bartenders attention. My wife and I stayed at The Ruby Hotel for the night. The receptionist at the hotel suggested that we have a bite to eat at the lounge. It was closing time for the kitchen but they fired up the oven and made us one of their signature potpies with a tasty salad on the side. That was only the beginning. The food is very good (five stars) but the bar is the reason to go to Sapphire. The bar tender is beyond creative. The drink menu includes a drink called the Ken Kesey. You have to smell it and taste it to believe it. The bourbon smash is smooth. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the smash. Worth the stop if you're passing through or just hang out there if you're a local. read more

It's a small space, which is a big plus in some ways (intimate, cozy, not too noisy, etc.) but a minus in others (limited seating, small kitchen, limited selection of spirits). The best bartender ever. Because of him it's our favorite bar in Spokane. He makes my husband's perfect Manhattan. He knows his stuff. I tried a Pisco Sour, never had one before but I believe it's my new favorite drink. Everyone there is friendly and willing to recommend other places to drink or grab something to eat. No thanks! The space is overworked. Gaudy and just annoying to pass and constantly see some new add on. Overpriced when I can go either to the baby bar or Andy's and get twice the drinks or food for the money. Not to mention the owner is a very pretentious ass. Sure wish it weren't so. I didn't have a drink but my fiance did (a gin & tonic). He kept grimacing so it was good (we are lightweights; he liked it and drank the whole thing). The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Cozy, stylish interior (not good for a huge group, but good for an after-dinner drink). Sitting outside on the covered patio is relaxing. The only drawback (and this is just me) is the homogeneity of the music. It's all 1990s. Albeit classics of that era, like Jane's Addiction, Nirvana, Alice in Chains. I mean, I'm not demanding Flo Rida. But Alice in Chains is heavy stuff. It can wear you down and conjure up dark thoughts in the wee hours. Possibly last night was a 1990s night. I don't generally take the time to review places I go. I travel a lot and seldom make it to the Spokane area. I was staying in the attached hotel. The bar was smaller than a bunch of the others around, but just big enough to have a good time. The bartender there was fantastic. Sounds like from the other reviews they have a number of great ones there. She was great. I don't remember her name but she was the funny blonde that works Thursday's. The drinks were well made and affordable. If I'm in Spokane again in the near future I'd stop again. read more

I would give this place a worse review but it's not possible. Most of the drinks now were watered down that we ordered, I showed up in a group of 7 and all had the same experience as far as drink quality. The outside patio is a none drinking area and they are willing to call the cops if they see patrons go out with drinks. At the end the of the night the the staff chased us out 20 minutes to closing, which is understandable except the way in which we were forced to leave. At the end of the night the staff chose to call us rude names and proceeded to tell us that we needed to leave immediately or else they would be "forced" to call the cops and have us forcibly removed. All we tried to do was finish the drinks that we had paid for once they told us that they were preparing to close the bar. Upon which they called us names and told us impolitely that we must leave immediately without finishing our recently paid for drinks. read more

I have only been at the Sapphire Lounge one time, but it was a pretty fun place to be and we had a blast. I plan on going back. Please could someone let me know what was in the G6? Enjoyed a few hours at Sapphire Lounge the other night. Very knowledgeable and courteous staff. The mixologist behind the bar really knew his stuff; recommended some great beers and made some truly inspired cocktails.
