I got my hair cut and colored at Sapphire last week and I have honestly never had a better haircut in my entire life. Crystal is a magician and cut my curly, frizzy hair in such a way that even I can blow-dry it myself and it look great. Since winter is coming, that is very important! No one like icicle hair. Crystal is a fantastic stylist and I highly recommend seeing her! The salon itself is very nicely decorated and clean. Though I haven't tried any of the other services, I will be! I was expecting to pay $80 for my cut and color. Instead, it was $107 and $127 with tip. Why? I'm guessing because Dawn said she put a glaze in.... of course without asking or saying that it would be extra. Now, I don't mind the extra $ for a great cut and color, but what I got was so far from that. I walked-out looking as if I'd taken a shower and let my hair air dry. The color wasn't bad, but wasn't perfect either, but the last thing I wanted to do was go home and style my hair myself, which is exactly what I had to do! Never. EVER. again. read more

If you are looking for someplace new that you can trust completely with your hair, try Sapphire! I have trusted Sandra, who is also the owner, with my highlights and haircuts for many many years, and have never been disappointed. She is not the type to cut first and ask questions later! I have recommended several friends to her, and they go there regularly now. The other stylists are excellent, too. Location is great, right on the Watertown-Waltham line, and plenty of parking spots, and prices are very reasonable, too. Definitely give Sapphire a try! read more

I have been getting my dark brown hair colored blonde for as long as I can remember and am quite picky about the light blonde, non-brassy color I want. Not being local to the area I went to Sapphire and saw Christine (Tina) and explained what I was looking for. Well she went above and beyond and gave me the exact natural looking blonde color I wanted, and I couldnt be happier. She was meticulous in detatil, and used foils to high and low light my hair, giving it the perfect blend. I see her regularly now and would never go anywhere else. Sandra is a lifesaver! After having a terrible experience at a different salon and getting an absolutely dreadful cut and color I called Sandra in a panic and she was able to get me in next day. When I came in to Sapphire I was warmly greeted right away and Sandra spent a good amount of time listening to exactly what I wanted, looking at the pictures I'd show the other stylist at the other salon of the style I liked, and figuring out a good plan on how to fix this. She is so sweet, understanding and patient. She took so much time and care to make me feel comfortable and confident again. Her skill set is incredible. The before and after results were so dramatic I feel like a different person. I cannot recommend her and her wonderful staff and business enough. I can't wait for my next appointment!! read more

I got a cut and color (balayage) with Jill. The color was well done, but much darker than I would have liked - it looks more sandy brown throughout than sandy brown lightening to blonde at the end. I'm hoping that it will fade a bit and return some of the blonde at my ends. I asked for something that would grow out well (since I'm not the best at color maintenance) and I think the balayage was well done in that respect. I brought two pictures of what I liked to show Jill, but I don't think she paid as much attention as she could have. I'm not crazy about the cut. It was honestly the fastest cut I've ever had done in my life. I showed her a picture of a medium length, angled bob and said that I'd like to have more structure to my cut (slightly shorter at the back). What I got was a flat bob (same length all around) and no trim/reshaping of the hair framing my face. The best way I can describe this look is 90s Jennifer Aniston bob, but duller. It's not what I asked for. Looking back, I think she was in a rush to get me out the door and go home. read more

Tina is GREAT! I have been using Tina for many many years for my hair. She always has great advice, listens to what I am looking for in a cut, gives great tips on styling and products after I leave the salon. Tina is also very accomdating to a busy mom's schedule and can always find time to fit me in when looking for an appt and will even come in early or stay late. When Tina has been away Sandra is always able to pick up right where she left off, knows my color and the style I want. These 2 ladies are great and are very much on the same page when it comes to giving amazing hair colors and styles. The staff is very friendly including all the other stylists and the receptionist too. I always look forward to my next appt. Highly recommended Salon! read more

Thank you Sapphire Salon! Sandra is amazing!!! So caring, professional and talented and loves her profession. She responded to my message within minutes to make an appointment. She must have felt my desperation Sunday. On Saturday I had a stylist at another salon make a major mistake with the highlights and color on my hair. The bleach had already damaged the top of my head and the ends of my hair. She scheduled me for the following morning and came in On her day off and not only fixed my color but also gave me absolutely beautiful highlights and a trim. She was so personable, kind and funny. The salon has great music and coffee. If you are looking for a stylist who truly cares about your hair and helping you care for it and look your best go here!!!!
